Tecra M2 interupted noise problem

I have problem with Tecra M2:

-during playback of music (mp3) with the player (winamp, mediaplayer) watch when turns off and I want that it is aggain-moving mouse ON, or hit some interrupts sound - key for a second.
Any idea?
It's really annoying.

Thank you

Hi SonicYouth,

check your PowerSaver settings? There is the possibility to create different power saving profiles and maybe on that your system is set up that HARD drive must close or the monitor should stop?

Do you have this problem too when you plug in the adapter?

  • Satellite A500: update BIOS V1.50 is fan noise problem reappears

I have a Toshiba Satellite A500 with fan noise problem.
It has been partially resolved the upgrade of BIOS from v1.20 to v1.30, according to this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=46719&start=0&TSTART=0

Yesterday I updated the BIOS v1.50, and the sound of the fan returned.
I do not recommend this upgrade if you have had the problem of fan noise.

I have downgrade BIOS v1.30 and fan noise problem is solved again.
I know that people have problems to get the downgrade to BIOS, so I describe the process in this thread:

  • With differential measurement noise problems

    Hey everybody.

    I use an NI USB-6211, LABView 2011 and Win7.

I'm trying to measure a voltage through a resistor using differential mode. But unfortunately im getting a lot of noise (on + - 25%).

The voltage source I use is variable and can go up to 600V. With my diet I am essentially heat a metal plate.

A parallel voltage divider is used to reduce the voltage by one hundredth (1 MOhm and 10 kOhm).

Two wires attached to the lower resistance then go directly into analog input 0 + 8 of data acquisition.

So if I'm trained 600V to the plate, data acquisition should get about 6V... and that's what I measure with my voltmeter attached to the acquisition of data input pins.

I also tried these resistances of POLARIZATION and connected the + and - leads to the analogous to the ground like a resistance I used 10 k, 100 k and 1 MOhm and 2 MOhm and

continue to receive a bad signal.

Two sketches of the wire as a signal (100V, supposed to measure 1V, no CORRECTION) are attached to the post.

    Concerning

EDIT: I forgot to write that I even tried an another NI DAQ and still get this noise problem.

Also, I measured the voltage source signal using an oscilloscope and I see that noise. But the differential mode isn't supposed to

    reduce noise to a minimum?

    Hey everybody,

come to understand that the voltage divider resistors are medium to high and they were the main reason for the noise

    problem.

Before I used 1 MOhm and 10 kOhm, now I use 100 ohm and 100 kOhm and with a median filter in this regard, it works very well!

But still, if I use the resistance of these BIASES they do not change.

  • scope of nor-5114 interfaced to 2576 OR multiplexter relay and a signal to test via Coax, noise problems

    Hello

We use a system of connected steps and have questions about the best method to interface to our test design.

DUT (Test Point [n])---> 6 ft coaxial cable---> 96pin--> NI 2576---> NI 5114 (map interface) connector

Note1: the map interface 96pin and equipment, OR share the same floor plan.

Note 2: We have tried with changing the setting scope NI5144 of 50 ohm and 1 M ohm but do not seem to see a difference on our potential noise problem.

    The questions are:

    (1) what is the best place to justify our coax cable shield, the side was FORCED (to the mass of Council) or on the side of 96 pins?

    (2) we currently have the shield connected on the side 96pin and it brings in some possible noise to our test had TO that point signals, we added a 100 ohm series resistor close Testpoint and it helps solve the problem, but it is not acceptable to have this resistance in the beam of cable by our client, and we try to find another option to solve this problem of potential noise.

Any help and advice on this is appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Miguel

    Miguel,

1.) as long as you do not adopt loops of Earth in your system, you should be fine to be implemented for the ground of coaxial cable. I didn't want to forget that it is important that your HAD is not referenced to the mass of power also because this may introduce ground loops in your system.

2.) as for the culprit of the noise that it is the combination of the two specs you listed. Amplifiers in your DUT output are specified for less than 1/10 the capacitance of the coaxial cable. This is the origin of the noise that you see, because the op amp is unable to drive the capacitive load and causes instability of the amplifier.

There are a few methods you can use to remedy this situation and here is a resource that describes some of these solutions.

  • Tecra A4 - audio noise. URGENT!

    Hello
last week, I bought my new tecra a4-168
but there is audio noise when I play the audio CD, mp3, midi...
I tried the helmet and it's the same problem (which means that it is not the fault of speakers)
I tested all the files on other PCs and they were very good.
I tried to disable powermanagment but the problem remains the same, I also updated the bios.

the audio driver version is 5.12.1.5240

    Hello

I can't imagine that this problem is on the first day. You did notice since when this noise persists? On this path, it is not easy to say why this sound produced what may be the reason.

I put t believe that noise occur because of the sound card. If there is no success, change audio settings don't try to reinstall the unit with recovery CD. If the problem persists it is definitely a hardware failure and the unit can be checked by the service partner. The warranty will cover all costs.

  • Tecra A3: display noise

    Hello

I have a new Tecra A3, Centrino 1.6 760 MB of RAM, Win XP Pro SP2.
A few days ago a weird problem started, where I started to see grains in the display. White flicker i.e. small spots all over the screen, similar to the TV noise when there is no station tuned. In addition, all fonts are thick/serrated, double-edged, color gradations are not at all normal.

I thought it was a driver issue screen, not so used, uninstall, install the latest drivers from Toshiba, Intel, but nothing is. Previously it was intermittent. Sometimes it starts with a normal display, sometimes the problem.
Now, every time, it starts with the noise.

I also noticed a when I turn on the laptop, I turned off the logo in the bios, so I don't see the memory check during POST. All these policies, at this point is are shredded.
If an operating system problem is excluded. Even the XP windows logo during boot a whitish flickering.
As a last resort, I tried upgrading the BIOS v 2.10. but no use.

Can someone please say or I might have to turn in controls of the Toshiba svc Center, which would take a few days.

    Hello

Well well, in my opinion it s a hardware malfunction. I guess this problem may be the FL inverter but I m not 100% sure. The FL inverter is a spare low cost part and very easy to replace.
You must contact the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner. They have more practical knowledge in this case.

  • Tecra A4 and Win7 - problems with PCMCIA card driver

I've recently updated my old laptop Tecra A4 - PTA42E - (in great condition however) for Windows 7 and it is now in the best shape ever except for the PCMCIA card. In fact, to have Windows 7 installed I had to rename the pcmcia.sys and pcmcia.inf files during the installation (to .old or .bak) otherwise the new operating system would not start. The same problem has been experienced by many other users Tecra A4 and the solution is available in a number of forums.

Although I use no more than the PCMCIA card slot, I want to fix this for a reason: If, in the future, I need to re - install Windows 7 for some reason any on this laptop, I have to repeat the same process - rename the pcmcia.sys and pcmcia.inf during installation, in addition, the new operating system does not start.

I do not understand that the original drivers from the card slot (Texas Instruments PCI-xx21/xx11 CardBus Controller with UltraMedia) are not compatible with Windows 7, but it is there any updated driver that works for windows 7? And if there's a how can I replace the old drivers in my system so that in the event of re - install Windows 7 I will not have to go through the same process? TI site is no help, and Toshiba does not all drivers to download.

Last but not least, if there is a driver available, I used the card slot for 2 ports USB 2 or 3 additional which are really necessary.

Thanks to the forum, in advance

    Hello

The pcmcia.sys and pcmcia.inf files are part of the Windows System.
This driver isn't provided by laptop manufacturer, but it is a Microsoft internal driver.

You mentioned that the pilots of the original card slot Texas Instruments PCI-xx21/xx11 CardBus Controller with UltraMedia) are not compatible with Windows 7.

To my knowledge, this driver does control not the PCMCIA location but this driver controls the card reader that supports the MMC card, SD card, card xd picture card, SM card, Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro.

However, the Tecra A4 is very old model of laptop. The driver will not be updated for this camera and it looks like Windows 7 drivers never had to be released the driver Toshiba UE

Of course quite here, is that no one from Toshiba has the manual to find codes?

  • Tecra A11 - LED backlight problem

I have great pain in my eyes after a day of working with Tecra A11 BIOS V1.7 = BIOS update. Wenn I bought it there was 1.4 BIOS the same problem with the eyes, LED backlight killing my eyes, a lot of pain after a day's work. V1.5 and 1.6 are much better (no pain) but new BIOS 1.7 is the same eye-killer than 1.4.

Who will help me? Users of this forum?

I want the people of Toshiba to help me, they sell the product ready 1/2, absolutely bad work! No contacts to Toshiba just this forum. Toshiba is interested in my problem with its Tecra A11 laptop bad and stupid BIOS updates? I'm really angry, never had such problems with laptop so much. So excuse my emoutions that I'm starting to hate Toshiba for the very bad experience with this Tecra A11. Why some users of this forum should help me? I paid a lot of money to Toshiba, so I want that people of the Toshiba to tell me what they do in their BIOS updates, silly kill my eyes with LCD backlighting. How many BIOS updates will be needed to make the Tecra A11 work correctly for 800 EUROS? I'll never buy anything from Toshiba.

    Hi dusanpov,

First of all: cool! Nobody is perfect and that these things can happen that something does not work correctly.

I put t know what problems you have with LED backlight, but a more detailed description would be nice. A friend of me also uses the Tecra A11 but it didn t tell me questions so I think this laptop works very well.

And I think that it of normal that there is no contact with Toshiba and you won't get any help from Toshiba because you will need to contact a * authorized service provider *. If you have a problem with your laptop, connect with these guys here. They can repair the laptop and it's free if your laptop is under warranty. On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of them.
    Check this box!

Finally, and especially if you have noticed that with an older version of BIOS, that everything works correctly, you can get this older version of a service as well. As you can see, it might be useful to communicate with these guys here.

If you have any other questions, just after again! :)

  • Tecra R850 - display driver problem - BSOD

    Hello

I have a Tecra R850 with the ATI HD 6450 M and every now and again it crashes and BSOD appears.
I have observed that mainly happens when playing flash videos.
After reviewing the events system, I discovered that there is a problem with the display adapter driver.

The said event system is perhaps a solution [here: http://wer.microsoft.com/Responses/Response.aspx/21682/en/5.1.2600.0.00000000.9.9?SGD=13feb1cd-4c8b-4c3a-aeee-ca4ca2c99729]

This Web page indicates that it is a bug in the driver and I need to upgrade to the latest driver to solve problem, and it provides a link to the ATI Web page.

I downloaded the drivers from ATI Web page and the installation program indicates that it is not compatible with Toshiba laptops.
I checked the Web from Toshiba site and I already have the last (and only) driver for my graphics card.

As it appears on the Web page, there is a bug in the driver, but Toshiba seems not having published an update of the pilot despite Ati...

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you
    Jose.

    Hi Jose

Are you using the original Toshiba pre-installed Windows or your own version?
Display driver original included in the original recovery image is tested, so you shouldn't have trouble with basic stuff like flash video playback.

Since when did you notice this problem? Can you give us an example when this happens?
    You have installed updates?
To be honest, I can't imagine that this issue is on the first day of use.

  • Tecra S4 has some problems on Vista

I have improved my S4 of December 2006 with Vista a few months ago (via modus-link, for free), I like the look, but have still some problems... are they known?

Using IE7 with more then 7 tabs open, especially those who use Outlook 2003 at the same time, I often get total do crash... no task manager and so forth can be opened, HD works strongly, but carefully to close some tabs in Internet Explorer using "Alt + F4" the machine begins to speak with me again.

Another problem: the fingerprint sensor. It worked fine with XP and both Firefox or IE to remember passwords. He recognized by typing in a password field and asked to record with fingerprints. You use Vista, it gets updated each time when a new update Firefox is available f.e... but it does not work.

last but not least: no drivers for Photo/video of entry available six months after the official start (esp. Canon N650U Scanner and grabbeeX + Video grabber, the old drivers for XP often do its job, but sometimes causes bluescreens.)

Beside the Scanner-video-drivers, everything is up to date, Microsoft Windows and Office and recommend Toshiba for Vista drivers.

    An idea for a workaround?
    Thanks, Olli23

Problem initially seems to be the Alps Touchpad.

In my eyes there s nothing unusual. I imagine that the CPU and the network run with high performance while using 7 tabs IE7 (7 sites).
This can lead to a few intermissions.
In addition, I would recommend Vista to the latest status update!

With regard to the issue of fingerprints and firefox:
According to your description of the update for firefox made mistakes when performing updates
Maybe the registry keys are corrupt
I recommend you to remove the software of fingerprint.
Then, restart the laptop and also erase the registry with freeware called CCleaner.
Then run all updates of Firefox.
After firefox update to restart the laptop and reinstall the fingerprint software.
Either way... you can turn off the automatically updated to firefox!

    Regarding the graphics driver Vista;
It seems that the Tecra S4 was delivered with an nVidia graphics card.
Check the Web sites of third-party 3rd as www.omegadriver.net and www.laptopvideo2go.com for a Vista driver!

    Best regards
