  • Manager remote desktop services / Terminal Server Services Manager

I've upgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise to Windows XP SP3. I'm used to use the "reset" Terminal Services Manager a 'Down' RDP - TCP or ICA - TCP port. In remote desktop Services Manager, the ability to 'Reset' a 'Down' port is "grayed out". I can't "Reset" of the port. I checked in Windows features and parts under Remote Server administrative tools have been checked. I don't want to create another port. I want to 'Reset' current 'Down' port. I'm a little frustrated that I have to connect to a XP workstation to get this accomplished. Am I missing something? Something is not properly configured? Do I need to install an additional application?

Can I transfer licenses CAL (NO Terminal Service) of the 2003 server to a new Server 2008?

We are to modernize a client from an old Server 2003 to new hardware Server 2008.
I was wondering if there re 50 CAL to buy for them, we bought or if we can transfer those from the old server.
The former will be decommissioned and formatted.
Please note that I don't want to transfer the CAL of Terminal Server service but rather access normal Server CAL

  • Shut down Windows XP: "program end" "sql server service manager.

I use Windows XP SP3.  When I turned off my computer, I get an error message with "End program - SQL Server Service Manager" in the title of the window.

How can I get Windows XP to shut down without this error?
    Thank you

    Winner!

Final solution was to use of AutoRuns to disable the four entrances to the SQL.  Using AutoRuns, I still did not have to change the registry and did not have to uninstall all the software,.
The four entries in AutoRuns entries are:
    (1) in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu Menu\Programs\Startup"
    The AutoRun entry: Service Manager.lnk

  • Can I disable the Terminal Services if I don't use remote assistance/remote desktop?

I use can I have Vista 32 bit home premium

I thought that Vista have no remote desktop? Is not Terminal identical remote desktop services?

    When I go

MyComputer > right click > properties > remote adjustment

the box for "Allow remote Assisnatnce" is NOT COCHEE

But when I run Netstat - ano, I see that port 3389 is listening svchost.exe process when I checal what services are related to this particular svchost.exe, I see the following services:

    Cryptographic services
    DNS client
    network location awareness
    KtmRm for distributed transaction coordination
    telephony

    and Terminal Server services

Seems to be at a point several years ago, I allowed someone from microsoft to help me through the assistance at a distance could therefore have enabled or downloaded services Terminal Server?

In any case, I think that Terminal Services is initially port 3389 to remain open and thus get an unsolicited connection attempts from different IP addresses.

I tried a little experiment and finished the Terminal Services and changed the status of manual start-up. When I still ran netstat - ano, he showed no listening on port 3389

However, when I rebooted my computer Terminal Server was running again. So I ended it again but this time off the service. When I fell net stat - ano he showed terminal services does not. then when I restarted my computer, Terminal Server services do not have turn on port 3389 has not been shown that listening

SO my question is, as a user of Vista which doesn't use remote help desk or remotely.

    1. I CAN keep the disabled Services Terminal Server?

    2. it cause me any problem of operation or security if she stays in the disabled state?

3 have disabled will cause me to not be able to get the scheduled updates?

    Thank you

But I have been informed by Norton Personal asa require a Terminal Server Services be, nit for the part of remote assistance, but for other reasons. They say I can't turn off

  • slightly different question on the Terminal Services

Under Vista with SP2 from Vista, is the service Terminal Services are disabled by default?

    Hello CompWorry,

    I answered your other question.
But to answer this question, by default in Windows Vista, Termainl Services startup type must be set to manual.
There are no other services that depend on the Terminal Server Services to start.

Your startup type may have been changed by a tech, but I really would not be able to determine.
By default, services Terminal Server listens on port 3389. However, it can be changed through the registry to listen on a different port.

    I hope this helps.

    Sincerely,

  • Creative cloud for teams on Windows Server 2008 R2 w/Terminal Services

Cloud creative teams can be installed in a Server Terminal Services environment? I understand at least every user would need an individual license, but I can't find definitive information on whether or not it will work even in this type of environment. Deploying in an environment where user desktop device is a Chrome, not a pc. To do this, all applications based on Windows to be run remotely on the server through desktop Services.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you, Oliver.

Unfortunately, the first two links are related to the deployment and update Creative Cloud to individual devices. In my case, I need either the possibility of allowing the use of a single installation by several users at the same time or install for each user profile on the same server.

Just checked with CC for teams of support and finally got a definitive answer. CC for teams (or any other Adobe product) generally supports the via desktop remote access, Terminal Services, or Windows Server 2008.

    Thank you, again.

  • Finally, mite update frm FF 3.6 at 14 for html5 (on the work of google last updated frm 3 to 5 services dint). will be history, bookmarks, site prefs etc be preserved?

Finally, mite update frm FF 3.6 at 14 for html5 (on the work of google last updated frm 3 to 5 services dint). will be history, bookmarks, site prefs etc be preserved? probably used to active connections. extension & plugin compatibility is not really important.

also, so simply, I hit update and do, will that opera-like "Firefox" menu appear or I have to do a clean install to get it?

If you do the update of in Firefox bookmarks, preferences, history, etc. will be there. Active connections should work for most as well. The majority of your extensions and the plugin should work as well, but you may need to update after the update of Firefox.

On Windows XP the menu Firefox is not by default, but if you want you can always enable it by going to view > toolbars and unchecking the menu bar
