text in a drawing

I imported a black and white drawing of the contour of a guitar.  It was .jpg.

I want to put the text inside the drawing.  There are instructions to do this, but it does not work with my drawing.  What I have to do something to the design before it is recognized as a container for the text?

Thank you.

If you want to limit the type within a shape, a solution would be to start by creating the form, then:

1. open the illustration of the guitar and select the box in the perimeter of the guitar to the place where I would like to place your type.

2. Select the path tab and click on the symbol to make the work of path at the bottom of the path Panel selection.

3. click on the top corner of the Panel path and choose, make choices, and name.

4. choose the editing command > Define Custom Shape and name.

5. choose shape > Custom Shape tool and the other side of the Options bar, choose the form you created. This is the last overall

6 draw the bottomless or contour shape. Hold down the SHIFT key to constrain proportions and use the space bar while you work to the position

7. Select the text tool. Click on where the type should begin and starrt. The text will stay in shape.

  • I have a problem with the display of text on Corel Draw X 3 after installing a Windows Update.

    Hi all

No, not so much a question, but I thought I'd post here because it can help others.

I used Corel Draw X 3 yesterday (12/12/12) to make a simple business card text only. Today - the file open and something is there, but the text is invisible. Further investigation revealed that this affected all fonts and Type 1 fonts from OTF, TTF fonts are immune to the problem.

What has changed between yesterday and today? A Microsoft update that I shut down the computer last night. I uninstalled the update via Add/Remove Programs, and the problem was solved.

Any suggestions as to who should I report this problem?

  • Text Diagnal of drawing on the screen

I'm new to Blackberry. Could you please help me Center of Diagnal drawing text to the screen

    Hi @ramachandra9345

    Welcome to the forum.

I think that you would have to create a bitmap image and write the text on it and then rotate the bitmap image.

You can create a new Bitmap using the Bitmap class, and then create an instance of graphics with your bitmap:

    Image bitmap bitmap = new Bitmap (...);

    Graphics g = Graphics.create (bitmap);

    g.drawText (...);

To rotate the bitmap image, take a look here:

  • Draw text with different fronts in a RichTextField

    Hello

Is it possible to use a rich text field to draw different text in different fonts. I can change the color of the fonts by the function

    graphics.setColor ();

in the painting method but I can't change the font.

Another thing... I want to create a line which contains several elements... like 2 bitmaps, 3 different texts, etc... I have manged to make horizontal use and vertical field managers... the problem is that it takes too long to make... and jerks... scrolling so I m using the paint function draw all these things in one control... but I can't seem to divide the text into two lines if the text exceeds the width of the screen... is it possible to do and does not affect performance.

  • IMAQ overlay Text.vi: 'police user-specified' ignored

I try to use "IMAQ Overlay Text.vi' use draw width fixed tag on an image. In my testing so far, I can't determine how to use another font, but the default value. The choice of "fonts specified by the user" seems to ignore my requests for fonts, but use my size and parameters "BOLD".

    What I've tried so far:

    • Use LabVIEW to tell me the names of police via the application and then drop type one word for word in the component 'font name' of the pole "font of the specified user.
    • Use a different program Windows (like Write.exe) to give me the names of fonts and then typing a in verbatim as before.
    • Use a font of nonsense name to cause some sort of error "font not found", but none have been raised.

This third data point makes me think that a default font is selected if the user is not. How can I learn which names of fonts will use this VI? LabVIEW can see and use the font that I want, but not IMAQ :-(

I have 2009 LabVIEW with Vision Development Module of 2012.

Check the built in example... This works.

  • How to center text vertically in illustrator

In the color text box, I can type Center horizontally, but how do I Center it vertically?

Unfortunately, after many years of asking for it, Illustrator still has not added this feature to the options of text block.

Is the closest you can get click the vertical text tool to draw a rectangle (but allowing only one character per line.)

You could do this with the align palette. You must select another line up against (for example: a rectangle filled with none). You must add an edge effect to the type, and in the align menu dialog box activate preview limits use.

What are the interactive elements? If you scroll image make sure to set your folio version v24 or later, the article in PDF format and the value of the render method (in the overlay Panel) to the vector.

If you use buttons, you should not put the text in buttons. Instead let the text as text only and draw a transparent top button.

  • Place several Pages of text om

Let's say I have a new document in Indesign CS5. Next step, I want to put a lot of text in the document. I go through the usual steps, file-Place etc and I find myself with a busy cursor. I go to page 1 and draw a frame which is immediately filled with text and port out shows overset text. So far everything is going well, but if instead I hold down the SHIFT key and do the same thing, I always get only one page instead of creating enough new pages to hold all my text.

    What I am doing wrong?

    m5heath wrote:

Then I'm going to a new document, go to the master page and, using the rectangle frame tool, I shoot a frame within the page border.

OK, it is where the problem arises. While you can place text in any image, you try to place it in a framework which, on the master page, expects a picture or unaasigned, depending on where the rectangle tools you used. If you are working on the master page, or if it was an image on the page of the document, I'D like to convert it to a block of text without additional intervention, but apparently not for a master thread that has not been overridden with happiness.

Rather than use the rectangle or rectangle frame tool, use the text tool to draw a text frame on the master page and it will work fine.

  • How to replace a dynamic text object?

I learned how here how to replace a picture with a similar picture in the same drawings using the miracle of smart objects.

    But what text?

Let's say you have a Chuck of text in a drawing and you want to change this text with a new text.

    Same principle?

The only thing, unlike the picture - text are not choosing to replace the files.

Maybe I should just then add text the old-fashioned way drag a new text box to each new file in this series.

I just thought it would be nice to reproduce the ease of the dynamic object that I do with images with text.

If you think about the benefits of smart objects, the main advantage is to allow a pixel or vector image based to be maintained and edited separately. But with layers of text, I'm not sure that the benefits would be almost as useful. You can really be better use of layers of regular text rather than convert them to SOs.

  • Text fill or use a clipping mask, then using the knife tool

Hey, new to the forum here, and I have a problem...

I'm scanning my notes for a course in Earth science, and I use Illustrator CS5.

I'm trying to do a simple text effect that leaves me perplexed.

The text says "Earthquakes" (indeed, 24pt.)

I like the texture of the text with a picture of sandstone.  I can do this.

I would like in conjunction with the text in two with the knife tool.  I can do that, too.

I can't for the life of me, what to cut the text in two after applying the clipping mask.

No can I apply the texture (via a clipping mask) after having cut the text in two.

I tried all kinds of different combinations, including doing some work in Photoshop, and still nothing works.

I tried to create a plan (apparently essential to use the knife on the text tool), cut the text in two and then make the clipping mask, but that only gives me letters, invisible, which I can't seem to fill with the appropriate image.

Anyone out there have any ideas?

In the case where it is not clear, I want my text to be filled by a picture, then I would cut half in text (I prefer to use the knife tool, as it looks better with a curved cut)

It's as simple as that, but I could not fall on a solution on my own.

On a side note, I also spent on some tutorials for 'cutting text' is to draw a line through it, and then using fracture in the Pathfinder palette, but this guard send me errors.  Thoughts?

First of all, there is no need to use a clipping for texture mask. Drag the photo in the "Swatches" Panel and then use the texture sample resulting to fill the text! Then, drag the text object texture in the symbols Panel. Now you can drag the 2 instances of the new symbol on the artboard and hide to create the look you are after. Using this method, your text remains editable and can be changed by editing the symbol.

Then you use the text tool to draw a rectangle, and insert the test. Select it with the tool selection and window > Type > paragraph check the middle box.
