  I'm lost. I have exhausted all possible ways but nothing works. My problem is easy to describe: I have a Perl script that creates a design, and the design should be editable in artificial intelligence. Drawing text on a path (curved text - drawing is an access plan).

  Now I don't like how I do - I want to just make it work. I can create all types of file with Perl if someone tells me what it should look like.

  I tried to create a SVG file with text on a path. It works and the resulting file can be edited in an editor like Inkscape SVG, including the full text on the editability of the path. But if I import this file into Illustrator (AI 10 and CS3), the individual letters still sitting on the road, but all of them are facing up (instead of regardless of the direction of the path is). If it does not work. Then I said ok, because the SVG looks fine in Inkscape, let me just export EPS form Inkscape and use in artificial intelligence. Now the file looks good in artificial intelligence, but the text has been converted by trace himself, with each letter on its own session - not editable.   So I tried the opposite: make a text on a path in artificial intelligence and save, with the plan to look at the file and generate what is there with my Perl script later. Unfortunately, the file saved by HAVE contains a chunk of binary garbage (be they saved as editable SVG or as file) that does not lend itself to facilitate the interpretation of yours really.

  I'm really not much. And I'm willing and able to create any type of file. Everything I need is something that I read, and which translates a text on a path that is editable in artificial intelligence.

  Does anyone have a pointer to a documentation, or existing in any programming language, source code that could help me in creating such a file?

  I think you should look in the AI7FileFormat.pdf file (available many places online), specifically the pages 85 to 87 and 105 page, who speak of the operators of text, including text on a path.

  If we exclude the 4000 lines or so of boilerplate prolog and procsets, the code base for a text on a path is as simple as that:

  Record cleaning (first use cleaning brush/Style/Swatch action) file eps, version 6, and you shouldn't get any binary stuff.

• ID CS4 - text on a path does not print

  Hello experts,

  I'm nervous of preparation very big book for printing (Bible, 1300 + pages, very complicated layout). Everything was done in ID CS2 and several reprints have been OK - now I jumped to CS4 converted the book and that's problem is here. Text placed on the upper edge of the frame (through type on a path tool) disappears in PDF (snapshot included) resulting. However, the text in the frame itself is OK. Problem is that the path is a part of the textflow, so it cannot be easily replaced. It was absolutely impossible (for me) to force the ID to print the pages correctly (print or export worked). I reinstalled everything suite CS4 - and now about 75% of cases are OK the rest once again not. (before reinstalling nothing of the text was OK...)

  I can't change the layout or positioning of executives because ID will begin to recompose the text (works by this composer CS4 sometimes differently compared to CS2 ) is very risky because of the necessary additional proofreading. I can't yet go back to CS2 document - tried by INX double conversion - failed - text mentioned above is still invisible. And the original document from CS2 cannot be used because of the hundreds of corrections for new edition that all of them were made in CS4. So now what to do - I would really appreciate help from experts.

  Very well. I got the file and looked it over. Here are my findings:

  There seems to be an obscure bug in InDesign.

  Here's what happens:

  Vlad sent me a 178 page document. Most of the text flow between

  single and multiple blocks of text column, with under section headers

  text on the path of several blocks of text column beneath them. The

  first of all, 89 pages exported correctly. All pages from the 90th

  page exported without text on the path.

  (1) it does not appear that corruption of the text boxes. I created

  new images with text on path and text exported still hurt.

  (2) it doesn't have to do with the length of history. I have

  divide history in the Middle, and the same text was still missing on

  Export

  (3) export (text marked, etc.) Changing settings do not seem to

  have an effect.

  (4) the export of parts did not help.

  (4) after the split of the text, I removed all pages before the

  problematic page and the missing text was all there on the export.

  I conclude that this is a bug involving

  (a) text on a path

  (b) that belongs to the text Threading

  (c) on page 90 and on.

  If anyone is interested in building a new doc to confirm this; be my

  Comments!

  I see two ways to solve the problem.

  (1) divide the documents all less than 90 pages.

  (2) cut the text of the text on the path and paste it into the new text frames

  (while removing the paths of the Threading).

  Since there are a lot of Mid-page overlap heads; If you were building

• Text on a path of adjustment

  I struggled with this today.  The text of the "silver medal" is inside a path, and I can't select individual letters to adjust kerning.  I can only select all the text, or the word medal.  To get to this point, I had to fix the text normally and using the evil Kerned first attempt on the path as a guide, adjust the kerning of the text and paste it about to insertion of path.  Not one approach very satisfactory because I have to go through this process again to a fine tune.  Any ideas on obtaining of past this would be welcome.

  

  To work around the problem, you can use the shortcuts for moving insertion point.

  For example, when you click on the text layer and the insertion point (the blinking cursor) is at the right end of the text, you can use the left arrow key to move the cursor one character to the left.

  Then use SHIFT + left arrow to select the character to the left of the cursor or Ctrl + Shift + left arrow to select one word to the left of the cursor.

  I followed some tutorials online on how make custom shaped text boxes and they say all create a path and then when you put the text inside the path tool, there should be a dotted circle and the text that you create will be linked by this way.   Yes, I think maybe that's her.  Type inside a path does not work if the path is not fully enclosed.

  I am trying to change the individual letters of the text using "vectorize" and then separate the letters. When I do this, illustrator doesn't add anchor points the outline of the letter. Instead it treats only the letter as a square image of base and I can only adjust its size. Help, please!

  Make sure you click first if nothing is selected, and then select the anchor point specific, if you select the letter or the line you will get different results from what is selected.

  I, CS5. I created a seal with the graphics and text on a path. Started with an image that was created with an Illustrator old version of CS. text has been updated and the finished product looks good. However, when I try to make a copy and reduce it in size, the text on a circular path gets moved around. Other components of the image decreases as it should. Any ideas?

• Text on a path not to export in PDF format

  This announcement, I'm just in case there is an easy solution, but I suspect that the architecture of a particular CS4 file is damaged in a weird way that only affects exporters text on a path in PDF format.

  Most of the examples of text on a path in this document will not export to PDF, and I have a suspicion that the problem may occur only after a certain number of page - but that is not confirmed. Tried anything that I don't gets me the text in an exported PDF, and that includes almost all the possible combinations of the export settings by changing the layers, masking layers, restoration OSX and reloading CS4.

  One thing can work: as a test, when I moved a page to a new document, text on a traced is exportable. I didn't have no more in that direction immediately, in the case where there is a difficulty that is easier than moving 813 pages at once, which crashes CS4 when I tried it.

  Any suggestions?

  Under the banner of 'better late than never', this bug is now fixed in the 6.0.4 update.

  Watch it again once and document Scanning how-to - for Windows 7, I don't see that Preview Scan must be turned on to scan several pages.

• path is too deep message when copying files to the hard disk to usb thumb drive

  am runnjing Windows professional xp and have recently begun to meet with messages saying 'Filename' path is too deep, trying to move files from my hard drive to a USB key. I realize there is a limit on the length of path, I think that 250 characters, but I'm no where near this limit. Move files with long length of path names and file with length of shortest path names are not.

  It seems that less than 100K spreadsheets okay and spreadsheets more than 100K are not. I think my problem was with Open Office but I also struggle with the larger PDF files.

  If I one of these "problem files", open ones I can't move or copy and try to save them on my drive of thimb, the system hangs for several minutes and sometimes tells me that I started recording order with an invalid character.

  I see others have problems similar encounteres on several internet forums. Is the cause of this known? Is there a fix I can install to remove the problem?
