• There is no file PRC!

  I get an error message saying that the path doesn't exist 'determined' not for a .prc file is double-clicked and is indeed on my computer. How can I get my Palm Installer to find and execute this file? I have a Tungsten E2 on Windows Vista SP2 running. Is there some sort of workaround? I'm syncing with other third party software.

  I went to chat online and found the solution. I need to manually install my .prc files by entering in the Palm Desktop program, by clicking on install, then selecting the .prc file. Then HotSync. This works. I'm a happy camper.

• Access to the prc and PDB files

  I'm sorry but the treo 500 is a windows mobile unit. It does not use the .prc files.

• Tungsten t5 1.1 as prc update?

  I recently had a T5, but it doesn't have the installed 1.1 update. I don't have access to a PC or a Mac, so I hope to find the raw RPC updated file (or a zip file containing just the people's Republic of CHINA).  I can download the file via bluetooth once that I get it, but I can't find anything that is not a self-extracting executable or a .sit. Any help would be appreciated!

  I downloaded the Mac version of the update, as it comes as a single .prc file and then download the .prc file uncompressed to my ftp server.  You can download the update here.

• Texturing

  I'm using CS5 and in filter > fiber there are just four pre = set textures, canvas, burlap etc. In older versions of Photoshop, it was possible to choose a texture using a file of its own. Is it possible n CS5, I can't find a refernce to it.

  Thank you very much. I did a little violin until I realized that the image of the texture must be a psd file, I was trying to use jpg!

• PDF and 3D files that are not in a recognized format

  If I have a 3D file that is not in one of the recognized formats, it is possible to use the Adobe SDK to get Acrobat to read and make a PDF? If it is possible I have a full explanation, I just need to be headed in the right direction.

  Yes, you can.

  See ImportToPRCBrep and ImportToPRCTess for examples of code showing how to put

  your data in 3D PDF (there is also some docs on the analysis and establishment of PRC files and creating 3D Annotations).

  But if the format is complex and rich in features, you will have problems with undocumented parts of the standard of people's Republic of CHINA when writing your converter.

• Several layers of texture

  I been using Director for years, but I am new to 3D.
  
  I have a plan, that the user dynamically switches the textures on the use:
  -member("Scene2").deleteTexture ("planeTexture")

  -.texture member("Scene2").shader ("planeShader") = MEMBER("SCENE2").texture ("planeTexture")
  (I load the chosen texture from a file in "3D_texture" cast member)
  
  The foregoing shows users 'go' now trying to add another layer of texture, which will be a bitmap from a circle to grounds: a png square with a circular alpha channel) to allow the user to move around to see where on their driveway they would like it

  The easiest thing would be to simply create another plan with another texture on top. Otherwise, just texturelist [] property the shader allows you do the work and do not take into account #meshDeform.

  Set the texturelist [1] your shader for the bricks of the driveway, then the shader texturelist [2] to your texture with alpha. Then assign the shader blendFunctionList [2] #blend and blendsourceList [2] to #alpha.

  Your alpha texture will be a 'decal' on top of the texture of bricks. You can then move the decal autour texture using textureTransfromList [2] .position. But make sure your alpha is enough "white spaces" on the banks, on the other you are going to get the streaks.

  * Important to note that the rendering engine will affect what it looks like. I think that the above description is good with directX, but if you use openGL, you may need to use blendsourceList [2] = #constant and blendConstantList [2] = 100.

• How to add color to the model of the popular Republic of CHINA purely composed of polygons driveshafts

  I created a purely composed of polygons triangulated model of people's Republic of CHINA. Each polygon in my model is for a party.

  Now I want to add color to the model of the people's Republic of CHINA, a plain color RBG for each polygon.

  I'm confused about where I put the color data?

  I just want to create the color in the simplest. Not necessarily to use texture or material.

  Can I add the RGB color value to the top of each side of the triangle?

  Or to use the material attached to each polygon or part?

  Or use the texture? (But I have no any file, like the JPG file, which represents any texture. Want just a solid color)

  Yes, you can (see above), but per-vertex color surfaced opaque and immune to lighting.

  It is also possible, but can degrade performance.

  If the Setup is possible create a custom texture to receive color data is the usual way to go.

  BTW, what tools do you use to create the PRC file?

  I'm not familiar with the app, but I have two questions/suggestions:

  1. What version of Palm Desktop are you using?  If you are not already the case, try installing PD 6.2.2 (download available in first thread 'stickied' at the top of this map).
  2. If the program is a .prc on your desktop file, try copying the file on an SD card.  Then try to copy the file from the card on the internal memory of the TX using the Menu of the TX.  If you already have an SD card in the TX, you get a card not more than 2 GB in size and plain SD (not SDHC or any variation).  The card needs to be formatted in the TX.  This will create a folder/palm/launcher.  If you insert the card into a card reader on or connected to your computer, copy the .prc file in the palm/launcher folder on the card.  Then, when you insert the card, you can launch the application directly from the map.  Note, some applications do not support running of a card and have to be copied into the internal memory of the device.

  In the tree of Acrobat, it displays the names of the objects correctly.

  I use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC version 15.016.20041.55549.

  Does anyone know what are these extra characters?

  It makes it impossible to use getByName since then because of these random characters.

  IE scene.nodes.getByName ("Sphere"); does not return a valid node.

  I handled this in the past by creating a function that runs through the knots looking for the substring until the period and then returning this node. It can be slow on large models, but it does not work.

• Palm Desktop

  Win XP Home - Treo 680 unlocked, my problems started when I downloaded the desktop version 6. He started crashing for palm support told me to revert to the version 4.1.4e, I did. However, my calendar now refuses to synchronize. I have installed and uninstalled the program, but the calendar still clog up the process whole HotSync. I know that is where the problem is bec when I set it to no action, the rest of the hotsynchs of data without a problem. I tried the 'check' the corrupted files on the desktop program, but it does not pick up anything. Is there a way to check the files corrupt on the handset? I lost all my calendar data, about 2 months ago and now I think it might just happen again. Help! Thanks in advance! :-)

  Hello..  Welcome to the forums of Palm.   There is a utility that should solve your problem, called dbfixit.  Do a google search for it and download it, unzip it and when you get the dbfixit.prc file, double-click on it to put it in the installer.  Then go in the lines and turn off your calendar and sync to install dbfixit.  Then go to the device and run it.  Dbfixit is free, the free version will check the problems and identify them, then you have to fix manually.  If you place the 12.95 to save it, it will also fix errors.  If you decide to buy dbfixit they will tell you that you will receive an email within 24 to 48 hours with your reg code.  Once you get to a point, you can run dbfixit without errors and then turn driving calendar and synchronize.  This should solve your problem.

  I'm bringing it back in action a Tungsten T that I've not used one year.  I want to install Filemaker Mobile 8 on the device.  I use Mobile in Filemaker 8 on my Treo 650 with success.

  The issue I'm facing is as indicated in the subject of my post:

  "the application cannot be launched because it lack of location information" is the message I get after selecting Filemaker Mobile on my Tungsten T.

  In order to solve the problem, I looked at length the web including this forum.

  The post with the most relevance were found on this forum so that I am registered in order to post on this site for the first time:

  To you, my questions are the following:

  1. in your expert opinion is only applicable to my situation (xp pro) post even if the solution of this post was in a Mac environment?

  Just to let know your with my process so to solve this problem on mine:

  A I reloaded the Tungsten T and synced with 5.4.5 on two different PCs that I use for my 650.  The two worked sync is installed but I still got the abobe mentionned message when I was trying to launch Mobile 8 on the T.

  B I decided to hard reset the unit (following the post mentioned above on this forum) and synchronized again but this time on a third xp pro pc that has been wiped with zeros (hderase) with a brand new xp pro a few weeks to install.  I then installed on this pc "fresh" 4.1.4 palm because this OS is the one recommended by Palm for a T.  I have synced (everything went well), installed Mobile 8 on this pc (as recommended by Filemaker), did a quick install of Filemaker on Palm desktop, synchronized again.  FileMaker installed and I have not received any synchronization error.  When I tried to launch Mobile on my T, I got the above message again "...". missing location information"on the screen of the T.

  So you help understand me this so that I can use this Tungsten T once again?

  You can try the steps suggested in the link you posted earlier and see if it can resolve the error. They were for another program and on the MAC, but it can be useful.

• Treo 650, not sync contacts with Outlook 2007 Vista machine

  Hi, I have a Treo 650 with happiness synchronization with my old XP Pro machine. When the computer crashed, I bought a Vista Home Premium 32-bit with Outlook 2007 on it. I installed Outlook 2007 duct after installing Palm Desktop 6.2. I'm not configured as an administrator for the security account. When I sync it no errors appear and sync is successful and all my photos on the phone and sd card and all prc files are backed up. But there is no contact in Outlook copied from my old phone. Outlook 2007, basically intercepts not anything from the phone. Even the Palm desktop does not save the phone numbers and addresses there synchronize photos from my phone. So, how can I get all my phone numbers and e-mail addresses in Outlook. Thanks for your ideas.

  Several things:

  1. the version of Palm Desktop 6.2.2 has integrated Outlook 2007 lines.  DO NOT install the update for Outlook 2007!   I've seen several threads lately where users have installed the update and things scrambled.

  2 palm Desktop to install properly if you have Admin rights!    It has always been recommended to grant temporary administrator rights when installing, perform a HotSync, then remove the rights.  I find it strange that you managed to get anything to transfer!

  3 did you say Palm Desktop to synchronize with Outlook?   Look here: Palm/programs/PIM Start Button / All Conduit Sync / syncing with Outlook.

  If #3 doesn't help, I everything again with a "clean uninstall" and start over.

• Software installed on the data card does not appear in the menu "applications".

  I installed Ultralingua in data card in my Centro. (Data files have been great to store in the Centro himself). It does not appear in "applications".  I can launch by clicking on applications, then the files, and then find the CPP Ultralingua and launching.  Is there a way to get ultralingua and other applications on the map appear in "applications"?

  Hello modemjunkie.

  The Palm OS Launcher does not analyse applications of SD (.prc files) who live in the/Palm/launcher folder on an expansion card.  If you want the Launcher Palm OS stock for you to show the applications installed on the expansion card, you must press the Home button and select your card from the drop-down at the top of the screen.
