Refusal of TX HotSync with SlovoEd dictionary

I'm not familiar with the app, but I have two questions/suggestions:

  1. What version of Palm Desktop are you using?  If you are not already the case, try installing PD 6.2.2 (download available in first thread 'stickied' at the top of this map).
  2. If the program is a .prc on your desktop file, try copying the file on an SD card.  Then try to copy the file from the card on the internal memory of the TX using the Menu of the TX.  If you already have an SD card in the TX, you get a card not more than 2 GB in size and plain SD (not SDHC or any variation).  The card needs to be formatted in the TX.  This will create a folder/palm/launcher.  If you insert the card into a card reader on or connected to your computer, copy the .prc file in the palm/launcher folder on the card.  Then, when you insert the card, you can launch the application directly from the map.  Note, some applications do not support running of a card and have to be copied into the internal memory of the device.

Hope this helps, good luck!

You can first try the next option.

There may be the database at the source of the problem. Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. This program has a trial version that you can download and install on your Palm OS device. The trial version will search the database and then to declare the corruption. You can then search records at the origin of the problem and fix them yourself or you can buy the program and do it automatically repair records.

  • HotSync with the Agenda

My Palm T | X hotsyncs perfectly with my computer Win XP pro with each application except the agenda.  When the Agenda is selected for synchronization, desktop and handheld computer hangs at the point 2 of the 12.  Does anyone have a solution?  No, I don't use Outlook but uses the desktop 6.2.

    Thanks for your thoughts

    Tom

Hello Tom_Gore, welcome to the Palm support community.

This question was asked several times here... two ways to solve the problem.

1 do a HotSync with the conduit for defined agenda on "Desktop replaces handheld.  This will write own copies of what you have HotSynced to your PC to your TX.

    2. download and install DBFixit to pimlicosoftware.com.  The free download will scan your TX for corruption and will fix some problems.  Others can request the subscription of the program to repair the damage.

  • Tungsten E2 HotSync with Win7 not

    Hello

This topic, I spent days the web and this forum to research and tries in vain to synchronization.

    My system:

    HP Elite HPE-250f, Win7

    Kensington Bluetooth dongle K33348B

Installed Palm Desktop Win62 and Aceeca 64-bit driver

Aceeca handheld device appears in Device Manager when the button is clicked on USB cable

    set connection BLUETOOTH FOR PC

Palm Desktop Win62 offers no connection in the menu bluetooth USB is the only option, but do not work. When you use hotsync error portable device is: hotwync due to the serial port cannot be used by another application.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Best regards

    Phil

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

Make sure Palm Desktop or your E2 are both set to HotSync via the docking USB cable.   When I open Palm Desktop on my laptop and click the HotSync icon, then connections, I see these options:

    USB

    Network (TCP/IP)

    Serial

If you don't see these, then I suggest that you do a clean uninstall/reinstall of Palm Desktop.

USB for Palm Desktop 6.2.2 version works fine on my x 2 HP spectrum loan.

These instructions are for Vista, but should work for Win7.

You first need to you a copy of your data to have just in case something happens. You can find your data files by clicking on start-> Documents-> Palm OS Desktop. Highlight your Palm Desktop user name and right click and copy. Then go to the desktop of your PC, click on a blank spot block and select.

If this is the first time, you install Palm desktop and encounter a problem, go to the previous step. If you are not concerned about your data at this stage, go to the next step.

Now, you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove anything that has to do with Palm Desktop on your computer. Go to the following locations on the PC and delete the folders listed below. [C:\Program Files\Palm or C:\Users\[Vista Palm connection name] \appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm or PalmOne C:\Users\[Vista Login Name] \appdata * note you may need to show hidden folders to join appdata. To do than to go into your control panel and open folder options. Go to tab and uncheck hide hidden files.

When you use Palm desktop 6.2, look in my documents or documents and delete the folder Office of PalmOS. It is the location of the PD 6.2 data files.

Once this is done, you will need to remove certain keys in the registry of your PC operating system.

Word of warning, go here and removing the wrong thing can cause your PC to start, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel that you are not sure of yourself, see if you have a friend who can help you or a PC technician that you can pay to help you. This procedure will show them everything they need to remove. To make sure that we have a good copy of the current registry, we make a backup of the registry.

Go to start on your PC in the search box type "regedit.exe" without the quotes.

Point peak COMPUTER, go to file-> Export. Should appear with a save as box. Current place of residence is fine, must be within My Documents, or save to a location that you will remember. In the name of the file in low type "backup [todaysdate]" i.e. backup07072008. Then, the most difficult part.

The best way to ensure that your work with the right key, select the key that is installation quick palm and press delete on your keyboard. You will be asked, you of course. Say Yes. Do the same for all the keys below.

If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician. BUT do not turn off your computer.

The reg keys are as follows (Note: some of the theses reg keys will not be here, but if they remove them)

    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer * Robotics\Pilot Desktop HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc. * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\palmOne * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm

    Then, restart your computer.

Then, reinstall your Palm desktop from the CD (or a download) and do a hotsync. If request you a user name, enter the name that is on your device in the upper right of the screen to hotsync.

  • T5 HotSync with Treo 700wx

I have a T5 Tungstun which I hot sync with the Palm Desktop software. I would get the Palm Treo 700wx smartphone. However, I noticed that the Treo 700wx uses Windows Mobile OS and my T5 uses Palm OS

I then HotSync Treo 700wx with Palm Desktop or I must get all my Palm desktop data into Outlook.

    Thank you

Hello.. Welcome to the forums of Palm.  The 700wx is indeed windows mobile and will only synchronize with outlook.  It is possible to synchronize your T5 to outlook or you can go to http://www.chapura.com/pocketcopy.php and buy copy of pocket which automatically switch you data from palm desktop to outlook.  Then you 700wx would be able to synchronize data.

  • Problem of HotSync with Tungsten E

All of a sudden, when I touched the hot sync button on the spot which is held, I hear the "boink-boink" in the office, but then nothing happens.

Then I get the error message: "the connection between your computr handheld and the desktop could not be established.  Please check your game back upward.

I even went up to remove Palm desktop and then reloaded with the original disc.

    Help?

Well, there are two things that must be done in order for hotsync function properly

    1. your computer recognizes the device as a pocket with no problems at palm computer
2 Hotsync recognizes the device as being connected.

At least that number 1 is occurring without number 2 won't.

If you are familiar with your computer's Device Manager, run that... While you look at Device Manager try hotsync and see if it recognizes the unit correctly if he acknowledges incorrectly, you will see a yellow exclamation mark next to it.

If there is an exclamation point. Make a click right on it and it say to uninstall the drivers. Unplug your device, then perform a soft reset. Once the machine starts back again and try an another hotsync.

  • VX Hotsyncs with Desktop 4.1.4 on Windows XP Home. M515 crashes PC

I have a Palm VX with hotsyncs via a serial port and a M515 that needs a USB port. I use Palm Desktop 4.1.4.

Ive run two Palms very well under Windows 2000 with only the occasional lost connection error if I try to feed the M515 too much data

at one time, but so long as I launch hotsync repeatedly if necessary, it will update correctly. (VX can't hold much data anyway so it)

    does not have this problem)

Recently, I updated to XP Home Edition. The first time I installed it, I had no trouble to HotSync the M515 (never tried VX).

But the installation went buggy with several accidents and shut downs so I re-formatted again and reinstalled.

I installed Palm 4.1.4. In the Local Configuration tab, I had Com Port1 and speed in the 19200 (which seems to work better than the use of the)

    Fastest Possible option).
On the Modem tab, I have Com Port1, my US Robotics modem (such as it is marked by Palm) and the speed as 19200

Under Win2000, I simply right-click on the Hotsync Manager on my system tray and choose USB Local. Then I hotsync the M515. TO

HotSync, the VX, (who usually lives in my drawer as a return and gets a refill every few weeks or more) I uncheck the local Usb and

Choose the Local Serial Port can be updated.

Under XP, whenever I try to update the M515, appears the symbol Palm Hotsync, I get the following message is displayed briefly on the system

Set "new hardware found, Palm... and then Windows restarts simply.

When I restart I get the usual option to report the error (Yes, as Ms. will rush to the aid of XP Home!)
I thought with horror that I would have to dual boot between windows 2000 and XP and I was wondering why hotsync had worked the first

cycle time. But then, I was surprised to see that my old VX had no trouble to HotSync.

In Event Viewer, I get several warnings event 7023: application management service terminated with the following error:
The specified module could not be found.
But times do not always coincide with my plant.

I am also getting the error just as incomprehensible: lease of IP address 80.5.98.208 for the network card with network address

000B6AAA85B6 has been denied by server 0.0.0.0 (the DHCP server sent a DHCPNACK message).

And a message saying: your computer failed to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP server) for the network adapter

with network address 000B6AAA85B6.  The following error occurred:
The semaphore timeout period has expired. . Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network

    address server (DHCP).

I'm not on a network, I am the only user and the identity alone on the machine. I do not even log in with a password. I looked at the

error messages on the MS website, but the explanation would have been clearer if he had been in Chinese

Any ideas, anyone? I tried "logout" and login (no difference) and install a newer version of Palm desktop (even crash so I don't know if it will work even on my ancient palms).

Sorry, should have added my post to it. I didn't know how to make sure I've made overall, but as you'll see in my other post, I discovered that the culprit seems to be Windows Media Player 10, so I am now able to Hotsync my Palm M515 on Windows XP Service Pack 3. However, I have not yet run all Windows updates and one of them may screw up the thing again.

  • HotSync with Microsoft Outlook

I recently had to recreate the image on my PC and don't have the CD that installed on my PC HotSync Manager.  I downloaded the files on the Palm website, but I can't seem to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook calendar, that I could do before.

    Help, please.

You are probably using an older version of Palm Desktop and you can upgrade a bit. First go to your add / remove programs in your control panel and remove Palm (or PalmOne). Once done, go to this link to download and install Palm Desktop version 4.1.4: http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/, /? St = 2610, E = 0000000000332809749, K = 2699, Sxi = 1, case is obj(37014)

Don't forget the last ")" copy / paste the link rather than by clicking on it. You will have the Conduit PIM sync option with this version of Palm Desktop and Hotsync Manager.

  • Palm TX but want to HotSync with the Outlook calendar Palm NOT!

I have a Palm TX with Palm OS Garnet v.5.4.9 I like to use the calendar and tasks etc that come with the Palm operating system, but from what I can tell I can only synchronize with Outlook!  Outlook does not print all my appointments in the week, I also very much and he will cut them to a print on.

There must be a way I can use the calendar that I love so much of Palm.  I used an old Palm III and IIIx and upgraded to the TX.  It's a deal breaker, I hate Outlook its not functional for me with what I'm doing.  Anyone have any ideas here?  When nothing appears on the Palm calendar or tasks hotsync etc.  I have the Palm Desktop by Access 6.2.2 application.  I went in the HotSync setting Manager but my only options are listed as schedule (Outlook), Contacts (Outlook) etc and I can change if the handheld or desktop computer Replace duplicates.  IT'S HER!  Should I uninstall and reinstall an earlier version?  Palm TX will work with that?  Its my time 04:24 and I'm driving me crazy trying to figure out the fix for this.  Got to sleep but will check for all the answers!

Thanks for any help I can get!

Hello livingny, welcome to the Palm support community.

Try running the 'switch' to sync with Palm Desktop.  Somehow, it seems to be set to synchronize with Outlook now.

On your PC go to: Start Button/All programs/Palm/PIM led Sync / Sync with Palm Desktop.

To redirect the information in Palm Desktop on your next HotSync calendar App.

  • HotSync with vista 64-bit and Tungsten E2

I've been on with Dell and Palm technicians with no luck!  I do not see why I have to pay more for help when the pda has worked just fine with the years usb xp for more then a year!

Enough of the b * hing. ... the problem I hope some can help me with.  After that I installed all the software for bluetooth Dell and Palm, I go through the steps of synchronization.  The laptop has received the name of the pda and pda bears the name of the computer, but will not be synchronized.  The message I get is "Cannot start the HotSync operation because the port is currently in use by another application"...  I take the bluetooth works, because they know each other names...  Can someone help me please!  I need to get this problem fixed as soon as POSSIBLE... I've been with her for too long.  I really want to buy another device, but if the Palm and not suports old tech, why go with them again?

Sorry... I seem to not be able to help me with tears... Please don't turn back becase of this one...

    Thank you!!!

Hello, I certainly understand how this issue can be frustrating, it is quite complex, but I can certainly be helpful with this issue. First of all, I would recommend closing all applications / programs on the PC and unplug the Tungsten E2. Then go into the hotsync Manager settings (open the hotsync application manager and right-click on the hotsync Manager icon in the lower corner of your task bar, you will see two (2) arrow invertly to another) after opening hotsync manager, click settings => connections => and make sure that the following two (2) are "checked" those are bluetooth and serial (com3). After making these changes click done. Then, using your Tungsten E2 access applications screen and select Preferences-online bluetooth and check to see if your PC is listed in your devices in trust. If the name of your PC is not listed in your device to trust, your hang up! If the PC is listed in the secure devices perform a hotsync.

Also, I recommend take a look at the following Article, please click or manually type the following URL in your web browser: http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New, k = PalmSupportKB, t is ooccase, case = obj (49229), varset = to: breakfix

Hope this helps, if not let me know!
