That means an error "System Restore filter.

The event viewer showed an error of "sr" for some reason any every two days. I don't know if this needs to be fixed or it's just a negligible error? At least someone saw this one at any time?

a fix is released by Microsoft when there are a lot of problems reported for the same problem.

and yes a clean reinstall will clear up all the questions and start over with a fresh xp.

There are some steps to reinstall, and it is better that you back up all data you want and clean everything it remains out.

When you get a second hand pc, it is generally set up how anyone else and some conflicts may arise when you install what you want.

Here are a few sites for a clean install, and unless your installation cd is in sp3, you need to install sp3 manually so that the Microsoft updates will work.

Step 1: Try the steps in the section below, if you haven't tried it.

Start the restore of the system from a command prompt

Step 2: Try restoring the system from the recovery console.

  • How can I find downloaded emails that disappeared after the system restore function?

I restored Ubuntu 14.10 at an earlier date, but the previously downloaded emails since my online account after the restored date disappeared. Where can I find them? Data is backed up on a weekly basis.

I have no idea, I suggest you to ask what you actually do on a forum of Ubuntu Linux. My guess is that you have completely replaced the files with the 'old', so the data are missing. Long experience which is anything "System Restore" or "system reset" will lead to nothing other than high blood pressure, gnashing of teeth and the loss data.

If you happen to find a latest version of your profile files, the information here should help. https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/Profiles-TB#w_where-is-my-profile-storedUbuntu

  • Impossible to access the system restore, getting the error "system restore has been disabled by group policy.

Recently, I was hit by a virus that, among other problems, he blocked my access to the system restore to clear it. After having had my pc repaired I can not even access the system restore or my registry. I get a message from that system restore has been disabled by group policy. It's my own pc and I am the administrator. I've tried a few things without success. I hope someone can help me with this. I have the vista operating system.

    1. click on start, run and type regedit.exe , and then press enter

    2. navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-Software-policies-Microsoft-Windows NT------SystemRestore

    In the right pane:

    • Delete the value DisableConfig
    • Delete the value DisableSR

    3. exit the registry editor.

  • Error: System Restore cannot create a restore point.

When you start System Restore, I get the error message from Web page "line: 166; "Error: unspecified error."  When I continue to try to create a new Restore Point, I get the message "System Restore cannot create a files.  Restart the computer, and restart System Restore. "Restart the computer does nothing for me, it simply again creates the same mistakes.

    Hello

    1. don't you get an error code along with this error message?
    2. have you done any change in software on the computer lately?
    3. have you installed a third-party backup software?
    4. do you have Norton or McAfee installed?

    Method 1.
Try the steps listed in the article below and check.
You cannot create a restore with a HighPoint driver installed
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=322246&SD=RMVP

    Method 2.
Temporarily disable the security software installed on the computer and check if the problem persists.
Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3.
Please check if you are facing the same question when working in safe mode.
    a. restart your computer.
    b. when the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information tap the F8 on your keyboard key repeatedly until you are presented with the screen Windows XP Advanced Startup Options.
    c. using the arrow keys, select the desired option of Mode without failure.
    d. press the Enter key on your keyboard to start in safe mode of Windows XP.
    e. when Windows starts, try using System Restore and verify.

    Hopt this helps.

  • System Restore does not: Windows XP, getting the error "system restore has not initialized because windows stops."

"System restore has not initialized because windows stops."

This message keeps me from using system restore any previous date, I chose. Restore fails every time.

Window shutsdown too early. What can I do to prevent this?

Try to boot mode safe (the F8 key as the computer starts from the tap) and run system restore from in Safe Mode.

  • After that I did a system restore to get rid of antimalware doctor, I now have no desktop or start menu.

I did a restore of the ordinary system, and when he returned to reboot, I have no icons the desktop or start menu.  This blank desktop happens in normal startup and in safe mode.  When I try CTRL + ALT + DELETE and then go to run explorer.exe, it does nothing.  When I reboot the computer for about half a second before it closed, I see the desktop icons.  I can't change the users because there is only one, I have not a system restore disk, it's on.  and my registry for explorer.exe looks right to me... anyone know anything else I can try before I take it to a store and pay for a fix?

Also, I went through the instructions on this post: http://preview.tinyurl.com/answers-microsoft-com
but none of this has worked. So, I don't know what to go with it now.

    Thank you!

    Belia

You can try another system restore from a Safe Mode command prompt window:

"How to start the System Restore tool by using the option of safe mode with the command prompt in Windows XP"

You can also try to create another user starting mode safe mode with a command as user administrator prompt and enter the commands:

NET user bob * / add
net localgroup administrators bob / add

Where 'bob' is the new username.  You can then try to connect as 'bob '.

  • That means the error 0 x 80042318 and how can it be fix?

"I am trying to create a restore point system and when I click on create, I get a message error that saids" the restore point could not be created for the following reason: an error was detected in the copy Service VSS (Volume Shadow). The problem occurred while trying to connect with the VSS writers. Verify that the event system service and the VSS service are running and look for errors related to event logs. ("0 x 80042318 please try again" I check the event logs and found nothing.) Both services are running and started. I tried to restart my computer, but I get the same error.

  • That means 'comments file System (%) '. » ?

There is a metric 'comments file System (%) '. "under file system of comments when I select several virtual machines on generic dashboard widget.

The metric value is is not exactly free space or space of the fs mount used on a Linux VM.

    Someone knows:

    1. What is the average metric?

2 another message mentioned that the metric cannot display the correct value for NFS or Linux fs, is set on VMware vCenter Operations Manager 5.7.0 build 1073531?

System (%) file of comments is the % of used disk space. It is generally accurate to mounts and partitions, he sees not, but it is limited to the information provided by the virtual machine tools. This means that the VM tools must run, point NTF file media related and Linux not all mount points report. That this measure is not broken (to my knowledge), there is no "fix" in the current version. If there is a problem with the metric/accuracy of the source, would it be a problem for vCenter/vSphere and not a vC one - vC Ops Ops simply collects the data.

  • My Windows XP Home Edition is not updated properly and I don't have a firewall after that I did a system restore.

I have Windows XP Home 32-bit Edition. I got it since 2002. Its a PC Compaq laptop. I recently did a recovery system just to start fresh and clean with it. I have a legitimate copy of XP came with my computer, when it was new. I've loaded my records as guest and followed all the instructions. When I went to do some update, she had no auto update option to control panel (Classic view) and no windows firewall or even windows Security Center. It's default values on my new computer. I tried to update manually, but he repeats to me "the server was not respond" as soon as it gets for files and downloads from the download section of the patch of "Service Pack 1 A Express." I also looked for a download of Service Pack 2 and the only one available is for the professionals for the networks. I have no idea why this continues to be. I even made a second recovery, thinking I've done something wrong.

You don't need to install SP1A.  XP Gold, you must install SP1A or SP2 before installing SP3.  I recommend that you start with SP2 and then SP3.
