The account is locked!

I m using APEX 4.2 with 11g xe.

When I use the URL http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/apex_admin and enter the user name and password, a message is displayed as 'the account is locked.

So I did the following;

Tested to unlock the "admin" user on the workspace 'INTERNAL '.

SQL > alter session set current_schema = APEX_040200;

Modified session.

SQL > start
wwv_flow_security.g_security_group_id: = 10;
wwv_flow_fnd_user_api. UNLOCK_ACCOUNT ('ADMIN');
commit;
end;
/
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

Then I run the apxchpwd.sql script to reset the password to connect.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But still the message appears as "the account is locked.

Kindle guide me to resolve the error.

You probably know that the URL http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/apex_admin tip instance hosted Oracle?

I guess you should point the browser to the URL http://localhost: 8080/apex/apex_admin to access your local instance of XE

    While your application may very well be authentic, it could also be interpreted as a surreptitious attempt to bypass security.

    I have Windows XP Service Pack 3 with automatic updates turned on and the protection in real time against malware.

    I use Group Policy to configure for my computer account lockout policy, indicating that the account is locked by 30 minutes after 5 invalid connection attempts. I also use the TweakUI Autologon feature. (you can ask why the account lockout is necessary when automatic login is turned on?) Hold on...). Please also note that the feature of quick change of user on my PC is off, too. (but I still use the Welcome screen)

    So, when I have already connected, press Win + L to lock my workstation. Now, I begin to grasp things at random to be used as password. So that after a few failed attempts, the system displays: "cannot open a session because your account is locked. Please contact administrator.

    However, when I entered the correct password now, the system will always connect.

    I don't know if this is a feature of Microsoft Windows or a vulneralbility.

    More information: my computer is NOT a part of a domain, it belongs to the "MSHOME" workgroup and has file and printer sharing.

    Any help is appreciated.

    I have Oracle 10R2 DB,

    the environment is development database.

    I want to access the database server as a user of the SYSTEM...
    The database is remote.

    When I try to connect to db as a user of the SYSTEM on the client computer, it gives me error
    ORA-28000: the account is locked
    but on the server of DB box I see the account is not locked and and I can connect to DB on this box with the user of the SYSTEM, but not remotely

    So you can see that the user's SYSTEM is LOCKED:

    SYSTEM LOCKED (TIMED)

    So you need to UNLOCK it using the following statement:

    alter user system account unlock;
    

    Then you can check the DEFAULT profile:

    SELECT resource_name,resource_type,limit
    FROM dba_profiles WHERE profile='DEFAULT';
    

    It is often due to a limit in FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS. It can means someone (or a batch program) has attempted to connect to the SYSTEM several times with a wrong password (this is just an assumption).

    Hmmmm. are you sure that you use the same JVM and the same thing
    as WLS Oracle driver? (It's in the WLS server/lib directory)...
    Try changing the data source xml to add this property after the
    property of the user:


    user
    myUser

    **
    URL*.
    *... your URL linking... *.
    *
    *

    If this does not work, and even if it does, I suggest a case of official support of opening.

    We received the error ORA-28000: the account is locked in the Java program that connects to Oracle.

    But the account is not locked out, because we can connect using Oracle SQL Developer.

    What can be wrong?

    I'd be willing to bet my bottom dollar that you connect not the same account in the database even when you connect through SQL Developer the Java application to connect to the.  There may be a difference in configuring AMT that use two tools which makes it look like they should be connected to the same database.  Maybe the Java application does not use the username you want, etc.

    You have enabled auditing for successful and connections failed to this database to see if you see the connections and they use the same account?

    I guess it is possible that you have found a bug that should be reported to Oracle Support where an incorrect error message is returned.  But it is much more likely that Oracle is right and you have made a mistake.

    the screenshot shows that you are on APEX 5.0, but you used the apxchpwd.sql of the APEX version that came with RDBMS 12.1.0.2. Please try again with the 5.0 script.

    False lockouts can occur if you set the LockoutThreshold registry value to a value less than the default value of 10.
