The addition of swf (Captivate clips) in RoboHelp: flash controls do not work

Hi all

I added captivate swf project and ALL the flash controls (toc, play etc) do not work, although it plays continuously from the beginning. If I extracted this page of HTML and read it separately, it works on all browsers. I do like MS HTML Help RoboHelp projects.

Are there any known problems with the rendering of flash elements in Microsoft HTML Help? It seems that it uses a weird built-in browser to swf.

any suggestions?

Thank you

Hi again

Well, this becomes curious and curioser more I look at it.

At first glance, it appeared things were working. Then I tried the playback controls. Weird, the controls will allow one simple click and they will perform any function you have clicked. But it seems to be. Extra clicks seem to be refused. I tested with a cool Captivate movie and one that uses the Lock Widget area.

I was wondering if it was a general problem with SWF content in general or if it was simply linked to the playback controls, I tried and then add objects button to each slide to allow the user to navigate from slide to slide. It seems to work.

I thought (hope actually) perhaps it was simply the default playback at the source of the problem controls. Unfortunately it seems not to be. I tried to create a SWF file by using the controls of the aluminum. Same question.

At this point, I have to admit that I'm more than a little perplexed. I'm surprised that I have not heard of this before, or that others have not reported. However, I use the Captivate files in my CHM files all the time. The main difference is that I never use the playback controls in my films. I always use buttons or click on the boxes to navigate.

Therefore be generally dissatisfied and poking it in addition, I seem to have found the culprit. I did the same thing in RoboHelp 7 and it wasn't a problem. What was different? I scanned the code and there is no difference. Hmmm

Then it hit me. The difference here is that when the Captivate playback control worked only after the first click, the RoboHelp project use to browse sequences. So, I edited the definition of the window and turned them off. BINGO! The Captivate now works correctly.

I also tested using RoboHelp 7. Same question here as well.

Certainly, this should be reported to Adobe as a bug. Link is in my SIG.

See you soon... Rick
