  If you have disabled JavaScript or automatic calculations in Reader preferences, you will get this type of behavior.   Method 1

  Looks like you're using a laptop and this would happen if the default audio device is not set to internal computer speakers.

  (a) open the Control Panel.

  (b) double click on the sounds and Audio devices icon.

  (c) click the Audio tab and under audio playback, select the audio device on the laptop.

  (d) click apply and restart the computer, check to see if it helps.

  Method 2

  If fails it above step then check out the link below and run the Fixit tool available, check if it helps.

  Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode.   Tethered shooting works fine with Lightroom 6.4 on El Capitan.

  You can then go ahead and buy Lightroom and perform the tethered shooting.
