The ATI driver installation cannot find the previous installation?

Hello

Yestreday, I wanted to update my current graphics driver AMD high definition and so downloaded the latest version. Before installation, the installation wizard stated that no previous directory was found and would create a new. That didn't make much sense to me, as I already had the previous version of the driver on my laptop. After a bit of research, I realized that the previous version was installed in the program (x 86), and the new system would be installed in Program Files instead

My question is; I still want to update the driver and how do I go about this? Must delete the existing one and install the new drivers?

My laptop model is dv7 - 4198ca with ATI Radeon HD 5470 Switchable Graphics.

Thanks in advance.

I have a laptop different but the same 5470 video card. Update all video pilots made me a lot of problems, I had to restore a former win7 restore point to get the Panel to catalyst and switchable graphics to work again.

During the update, I was warned with the same message as you (no previous directory).

I suggest, if you dare, to update the drivers ONLY (for version 1.771 I guess) choose updated manual and then uncheck the other characteristics (catalyst, frame MS C++, etc). I also suggest you to create a manual restore point before starting.

    Install XP instead of Vista

I tried to install XP in my laptop ASUS PRO31jr which currently has Vista Home Premium installed.  I updated the BIOS first and changed the boot on CD/DVD order.  Disk load bunch of drivers, then when it gets to the installation, said he cannot find a previous version of windows installed on the computer and calls for an XP Home edition (full version), or a CD of XP Professional (full version).  The CD I have is XP Professional Academic Edition version 2002.  RHE booklet supplied with the disc seems to indicate that this is the full version, and I successfully used to clean install on XP.  Is the drive of my problem?  I would appreciate a difinative answer if anybody out there knows for sure.  Goodwich.

If the message "Setup cannot find a previous version of Windows installed on the computer", you have an upgrade version that requires Windows XP Home Edition installation.

  • LaserJet 200 color M251MW: driver software cannot find printer wireless HP Laserjet 200

I have printer HP Laserjet above 200. It's worked great for me and another person in my office. However, I've changed computers, and no matter what I do, the driver cannot find the printer. The other person in my office can always print very well, and my old computer can print always very well. I have disabled the firewall, turn off network security essentials (it is not yet installed antivirus software), provided the IP address, network address, the name of the device, let the software to set up my connection Wireless for HP Direct print. I restarted the printer, restarted my computer, restarted the router wireless, connected the printer directly to my computer via the supplied USB cable. It does not find the printer. I can ping to the IP address of the printer and get a quick response. I can print to other printers on network in the building, I just can't connect using HP. !

None of that helped him. What is strange, is that when I plug the USB in, it feels immediately there is a printer is connected. It starts to install the software, asking me to acknowledge T & C before you get a read error "unable to create the folder to extract webpack". I am an administrator on this computer and the network, and he gave permission to run. However when I use the driver from HP, it cannot find the printer, even with connected USB? The HP print and scan doctor finds the printer immediately, on the network, but then try to install the same software that does not find the printer.

I have finally however solve the problem, the key was to not install all other HP services, other than those needed to print. Deselection of all the software options (components 6-8) allowed him to immediately find the printer maybe 2 seconds, select these elements and not found the printer. HP needs to offer a thin driver that actually works, rather than trying to sell ink, just something that allows you to print would be useful. It's frustrating to spend 6 to 8 hours trying to configure a printer when the problem appears to be with the driver.

For others with this problem, run the HP print scan doctor, download the driver again through this software, deselect all option provided with the driver software and continue.

Normal boot and the following three, don't you remember those who, 1 to 4 in any case. Cannot run diagnostics as it says that there is no drive. Tells me to press f1 to retry or f2 for this to be. But f1 doesn't, f2 which brings back me to something that did not help me. I need help! Anyone? Thank you very much. Mr. Spence

    Hello Margo15,

If you assembled your PC yourself, this may happen because of the bad connection in your hardware.

    You can consult:
1 make sure your CDROM /dvdrom is properly connected.
    2. the hard drive is properly connected, make sure that there is no loose connection.
    3. Insert the CD of Installation of XP and reboot the PC to check again.

Is the usable hard drive prior to this install attempts or you install a new copy of XP into a new PC?

    Waiting for your response.

    Thank you and best regards.

  • I have blown my motherboard on an old computer and hooked up my old hard drive to the new computer and want to transfer my favorites on the new drive but cannot find where they are located on the old drive - any help?

My motherboard went bad on my old computer, but the hard drive was OK. I bought a new computer and plugged my old hard drive to it via a usb adapter. I would like to import or copy my favorites from the old hard drive to my new, but I can't find where they are. I was unable to determine the search for articles on the web. Be advised that my old hard drive is basically nothing more than a place of storage for files at this point. My old operating system is windows XP, and my new system is Windows Home Premium.

  • I could not fix Windows XP Home service pack 2 upgrade. The system indicates that it cannot find a previous version of Windows installed .__I lost the previous version disk.

    Hi, I'm in big trouble.

I just try to repair my Windows XP service pack 2/3 upgrade.

The system asked me to save the copy, but after trying to save the computer freezes.

I try several time to reinstall and now the system asked me to reinstall the software, I need to reinstall the earlier version of Windows that has been '2000', but unfortunately I throw away a few months ago.

I bought a new hard drive were I have installed a new version of XP 64-bit.

Is it possible to transfer all my documents, files, settings, etc in the new hard drive?

    All advice avaiable?

    Thanks in advance.

    CICO.

Disconect your drive, insert your disk again as master, install Windows XP on the new drive. Once msupdate was executed and the manufacturers drivers have been installed and the sys works ok.

Stop, connect the old drive as slave, restart

Transfer data as needed. You may need to "take possession of records" - see victory help (donot attempt the transfer settings)

  • Satellite A215-S7422: black screen after ATI driver installation

Please help me. I buy the Toshiba Satellite A215-s7422 laptop and install Windows XP.
After that I have download the driver for ATI Radeon x 1200 and install. After you reload a see black screen.

Hmmm on which site did you download and install the ATI graphics card driver?
The laptop seems to be produced and designed for the American market. That's why drivers should be downloaded from the Toshiba site we!

In any case, this problem seems very strange. In my opinion, you used everything simply wrong driver.
Try to start in safe mode using the F8 key at the beginning of the startup procedure and remove the graphics driver.
If this does not help, try to install the operating system using the Toshiba Recovery CD!

  • I downloaded a large photo of a flash drive file, cannot find thephotos on Windows 8

Although 7Zip is a program that can open the zip (compressed files) files.  It is not integrated with Windows, so someone who uses your computer must have installed for you.

Anyway, once you have opened the zip file and got the pictures inside, did drag-and you - drop to somewhere else?  If only, you have opened the zip file and from there on, you could never actually copying the files to the flash drive.

  • X 51 usb driver error, cannot find driver usb online

    I got a X 51 (r1) desktop with Win 10 running on it.

I was copying files from my mobile phone via a USB cable connected to a port USB3 and out of nowhere the usb3 has stopped working.

I checked the Device Manager. It shows that the xHCI Host Controller USB has a problem (code 10)

I have downloaded the chipset for windows 7 (64-bit) driver (there are no drivers for win10)

Also tried Google win 10 driver for card mother c200 of series intel 6 and found something but it did not help.

I am naïve. Nothing has been installed, no updates usb just stopped working out of nowhere part. Maybe I fried the usb controller?

    Hello

For Windows 8.1 and 10, the USB 3.0 driver is not necessary. As long as you install the Chipset drivers, USB devices should work properly. However, we recommend you Flash the BIOS with the latest version firmware, click here for the download link. After flashing the BIOS, test to confirm if the USB is working again.

  • Xperia Z2 driver installs.

I have reciently updated upgraded to Z2 phone, my iphone 4 has been stolen.  My problem is that my phone does not connect to my pc.

I tried a pc to the phone store and it connects, so I know this isn't the phone.  I have as well as what I've said is drivers for the phone in a downloaded file companion pc on my computer.  I extracte pilots in the same file, but when I search files via the computer driver update cannot find it even if I'm in the right folder.  I searched on the net for the drivers via update driver, computer starts the installation, and then tells me it fails. S1 pilot fails (fast start) D4305 fails (it is a different name for the phone do not know if I understood numbers in this post, but I'm close.) I tried to restart the system, unpluging all usb devices, turning off win firewall and antivirus.  I don't know what is blocking the installation of phone drivers.  I'm sure that if I can get the driver on my computer, I get companion pc to see my phone.  I connect my null, which I guess is my phone, but when I open pc companion it is not connected, probably due to drivers. Tried connecting with the phone's market, turn on with the volume key pressed, debugging with the developer still can't find thi question.

Well I don't know what fixed the problem, but I have turned off my wifi on my phone and turned off my bluetooth on my phone and tried to connect to my pc. Finally a message came on my phone sking me to install the software on my pc from my phone, I have typed on ok he did his thing and now my PC can now see my xperia. Guess that my phone was not ready for stampeed, then much will be different.  If you have the same problems as me look at what I had to do in my messages so posted what I did, well good luck to all and thank you to all who helped.

  • "windows cannot find a driver" in the installation package?

We have a file server and print XP on our network that has a printer Series PCL LaserJet 3330 installed 5th (using the original installation CD and prints from the XP Server). While trying to install the printer on a remote computer, I downloaded the driver package Windows 7 64 bit for the printer on the computer remote and got the error: «Windows cannot find a driver...» "(I don't understand why the pilot was not as it should be in the installation package.) After getting this error - several times, including the re - download the package and re - try - I downloaded the XP Server installation package and I changed the printer driver it as a package to install downloaded for XP. We always get the same error. The installation of the printer worked fine before having to redo our BONES. Anyone know this problem and can help with this?

This issue is between 64 bit and 32 bit, and there is an easy solution. Once you get back to the way it was before you downloaded the 64-bit package that you go to the machine that you want to load the printer and the printer as a local printer using load say lpt1 port. Auto not detect or print a test page and just finished the installation. Now on the windows 7 computer to join devices and printers and right click on the printer icon and scroll the properties first and left click. Go to the ports, and then add the port and in the box that comes up to put in the name of printserver and the share name of the printer by using the syntax \\printserver\sharename how save and apply and this computer will now be able to print to the printer.
