The Billboard in the develop module shows my pictures 5 highlight tonal, as if I opened the in the histogram

Hello

I use LR 4 for a few years. I have just signed up with creative cloud. When I import my photos into the CP LR upgrade and move into the module development to change my photos, the main display panel shows my pictures 5 highlight tonal as if I had opened them in the histogram rather than as a normal image unedited.

I shoot in Raw (NEF) and import the DNG files.

I can see my pictures without this effect of "" in the smaller Billboard in the left corner, but this is not useful until it is too small. I need to see my photos in the main display panel. So far, the only way I managed to work around this problem is by using the magnifying glass, but it slows down my work flow too as I have to close when I need to crop images.

How can I fix? I have to check or uncheck a specific setting?

Thanks in advance.

Celine

LR CC, try turning off graphics acceleration. Go to Preferences, click the performance tab, and then uncheck the box.

Ive just updated to LR LR 5 6.

The app seemed to run ok but as I was looking around any of my pics opens in the developer module, they have just a blue box with white cross?

I have already mentioned this problem to the Lightroom engineers, and they are studying. In the meantime, the best thing to do is to ensure that your graphics card drivers are up to date, which can solve the problem.

    Hi kayj,.

This seems to be a problem because of the graphics processor.

Suggest make you in Lightroom preferences > performance > uncheck 'use graphics processor' and then check.

  • Develop module creates the effect of "Rainbow" in the photo, how to cancel?

    Hello

I just installed a trial version of Lightroom. When I went to the develop module, rather than see my photos, how they looked on my camera, normally in the library module and miniature, the develop module shows my pictures with a rainbow effect reversed of sorts (please see the screengrab). How do I get back it? It shows all my pictures like this in the develop module, not just one.

  • How to develop module running in LR6?

    Hello

The development in my LR6 module does not work. The East only displays a blue screen with a large cross in framework. I can see the photo in the top-left window, I develop module. Photos are presented in the library module. This problem applies to all my photos, import imports carried out previously and the other after upgrade.

I updated to LR5.x with normal download / installation without errors. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall. I'm under Win8.

I use Lightroom CC 6.1 on a laptop. Some time ago, Lightroom startet showing the main image to develop module in a way that only appear in color, almost like a type of the histogram display. I used Photoshop and Lightroom for years and upgraded to CC about 6 months ago.  I just got a new computer and downloaded Lightroom and Photoshop CC on the new machine.  In Lightroom, when I send a picture to the develop module, all I get is a blue screen, where the image should be.  The navigation signs and develop panels show very well, but the image does not appear on the main screen.  It appears in the browser.  What's up with that?

Disable the CPU graph use in the performance of the LR preferences tab. Blue box will be gone, Image will show.

I love the develop module, but I'm doing something wrong in the library

In the library, under 'Catalogue, all the photographs', all my photos appear showing the stars, cropping, and development. The problem is that these changes are not for the photos on my hard drive. When I re-import them in Lr, the changes are not there. My workflow is to do nothing after development or export them to the original with a new file name destination. Anyway, it is that they get a new file name without change of development when they are imported into Lr.  Please help (PC user)

And others have explained, Lightroom does not apply the changes to the file. All changes are stored in the catalog, and then applied to the image when it is displayed in Lightroom. If you want a copy of the image with any changes so that you can share with others or send it to a laboratory to print, then you must export a copy of this image by using the export dialog box in Lightroom.

Features of Lightroom as well by its design. The images that you import are always left in their original condition, unmodified.

    Hi michaela,

This is either because of the incompatibility of graphics card or issue drivers.

You have to go in the Lightroom preferences > performance > uncheck CPU chart use

  • Panels in the develop module does not open

All of the panels in the develop Module are visible and have a check beside them when I right-click.  However, the panels not open or close when I click on them.

I can't seem to open the base Panel, and I can't get the detail panel to close?

Thanks for your suggestions.  I searched for an answer in the FOrum, but did not.

I've never seen a check mark next to a Panel, you can show us a screenshot? I saw a triangle on the right edge of the Panel name, what do you mean? (And I can confirm that it is Lightroom you speak?) If so, what version NUMBER?)

What happens if you press CTRL + 1, the base Panel seems so?

  • Develop Module and the wide range of monitors

Is the develop module drive different display of the other modules (library, Print, etc.)?

I ask because I see different, richer and more saturated colors to develop, and a Google search turns up any complaints about this problem, which dates back to 2007.

I have a Dell UP2516D monitor calibrated with an i1DisplayPro software and i1Profiler XRite.  This monitor is capable of 99% AdobeRGB.

Having read the other threads on this topic, I checked the following:

    • The monitor is correctly calibrated
    • I have disabled the option of processor use chart
    • The ICC profile is version 2, not version 4

It's worrying because during the export, the JPEG format resulting looks desaturated images, I see in the library, not the end result of my editing module in the develop module.  Here is a pair of screenshots.  In both cases, the small window is the exported image (JPEG) displayed in the Windows Photo Viewer. The largest window is a partial screenshot of Lightroom.  The screenshot was made by opening the JPEG and then exported by moving the Windows Photo Viewer on the top of the window of Lightroom.

The first image shows the difference between JPEG format and what is seen in developing

    LRColor01.png

The second image shows the fact that the exported JPEG resembles what we see in the library view.

    LRColor02.png

The develop module is fundamentally different in how it sends image data to the screen?  Might it interact with the features of a Monitor wide gamut of cause this problem?

Even if the answer is Yes, it does not explain why the effect is present even in the screenshots.  Take a screen capture, encode in PNG and then display in the Viewer Windows photo or other non-Lightroom software should eliminate special effects due to LR. The difference is always present in the screenshots, even when displayed on screens less capable, so there must be a problem of mismatch of actual color here.

Yes, there is a difference, read here: in Lightroom color management

I don't know, is the windows photo viewer color managed?

If you are using a large monitor range, you can display the correct colors with an application that is color management. Otherwise, you will still see a shift/colorshift.
