The bookmarks bar may be hidden in the active tabs & ok on the new tab?

To save the display screen area, is it somehow to have the Bookmarks tab that is viewable on a 'new tab' and have is disappear in an active tab. Be very well if the menu bar has done the same.

Not with all parameters that are embedded in Firefox.

Have you looked for an add-on with this feature?

After you have installed the latest version of the software update apple has changed the way you scroll through the pages. I would like to consider to have a box at the top and bottom of the screen that you use for scrolling. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On Mac, scroll bars may be hidden and are showing them when you scroll down the page, so you can see the current scroll position.

The idea is that a Tablet is used that does not need to be visible and therefore more screen real estate for the navigation area, scroll bars.

You can make scroll bars always appear:

  • The bookmarks bar now appears automatically when loading Safari - how can I disable this?

I've seen a few questions posted about this, but from what I can find none have been answered to any success.

From today I can't open Safari on my mac (current El Capitan with all uptodate software) without bookmarks bar automatically displayed on the left side. I realize that I can hide once loaded, but it is quite annoying to have to do this every time I load Safari when I already have the bookmarks in the top menu bar. Is there a way that this can be hidden automatically whenever Safari is responsible?

I don't know why he suddenly began to do this on my mac, but I have no software installed or modified parameters because it allows to load Safari without it. I read a post suggesting to deselect the show favorites check box in the section display the preferences of intelligent fields I've tried but nothing is.

Once you disable the sidebar, quit Safari, and then relaunch it, the Sidebar should stay hidden.

If this isn't what you see, you may have a corrupt preferences Safari file.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

If this does not work, maybe it's time to try refresh (called "Reset" in older versions of Firefox) which can resolve many issues by restoring Firefox as his default from factory and save your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose all the extensions, toolbar customizations, and certain preferences. See article Firefox Refresh - reset modules and parameters for more information.

    Refresh for Firefox:

    1. Open the troubleshooting information page using one of the following methods:

      • Click the menu button

        click Help

and select troubleshooting information. Should open a new tab containing your troubleshooting information.

      • If you are unable to access the Help menu, type Subject: support in your address bar to bring up the troubleshooting information page.
    2. At the top right of the page, you should see a button that says 'Refresh Firefox' ('reset Firefox' in older versions of Firefox). Click on it.
    3. Firefox closes. Once the update process is complete, Firefox will display a window with the imported information.
    4. Click Finish and reopen Firefox.

This corrects the problem? Please report to us!

    Thank you.

  • I want the address bar so that my bookmark bar can show more than three icons when it is placed on the same line.

I have about five to ten icons bookmark in the same line as the search and address bar. So I use customize... and I put the bookmarks on the same line bar. I leave the "name"-textbox in each bookmark in white so that only the icons. ""

However, only two icons appear and the rest are displayed in a drop-down list with an arrow you click.

I need not address bar to take 70% of the screen. I don't want the bookmarks bar to use an additional line. I just want to have the icons of bookmark five to ten next to my search and address bar. Is this possible?

The address bar and the search bar, that both have a flex attribute that makes then take all available space.

Items in Bookmarks Toolbar folder probably has a minimum width that can just make a bookmark with a maximum length label (in your case two icons).

You can set the width of the address bar and the search bar to force a maximum width of these two bars max.
Definition of a minimum width for the bookmarks toolbar items will probably work as well.

Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace (setting the width according to your needs).

Customization files (interface) userChrome.css and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #urlbar-container { max-width: 400px !important; }
    #search-container { max-width: 200px !important; }

You can use this code to set a minimum width for bookmarks toolbar items if you want to experiment with that.

You may need to set a width max as well.

    #personal-bookmarks { min-width: 200px !important; }

  • How can I prevent the bookmarks bar to open at startup?

I already have the bookmarks bar unchecked under options, but it always opens automatically when I first start Firefox? Is there a way to stop this? Thank you.

    Hey Copenhagen,.

Are you talking about the bookmarks toolbar? The one along the top of the screen? The checkmark comes bock when you restart Firefox?

Whatever it is, you should take a look at article in the Knowledge Base How to repair preferences that will not save . It may be that Firefox has struggle to write in the pref.js file.

If this does not work, you can also try to create a new profile.

    Hope this helps!

  • Comes from Maxthon and want to be able to place a site tabs directly in already on bookmark in the bookmarks bar?

In Maxthon (Mx2.5.8), I am able to place files on a toolbar similar to FF7 bookmarks bar. These records may contain more bookmarks. For example, I have specific folders for specific web sites: folder for fishing web sites, etc. So, when I come across a fishing site and you want to save to the appropriate folder, I left click on the folder of fishing on the toolbar and in the dropdown menu is "add to this folder. So, to save the site, all I have to do is left click on 'add to this folder. In FF7 I' like to be able to do the csame thing. In other words, I already have imported and placed on the bookmarks bar FF my bookmark of Mx records and now I wish I had a way to place wanted to save themselves from web sites directly in his folder of bookmarks... appropriate ala Mx.

In Firefox, you can slide / ' drop to save a new bookmark in the bookmarks toolbar.

Drag the image to the site in the URL bar down to this folder and the folder should open, and then delete the bookmark where you want in this folder.

  • How to get rid of the text in the bookmarks bar? Reset default will not work

my bookmarks bar has changed. I clicked on default reset so just to see the icons, but it won't work. cannot get rid of the text.

The bookmarks toolbar, by default, displays icons and text. This is an add-on that will allow you to display only icons.

Not related to your question, but...

You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update if necessary:

  • The bookmarks bar shows nothing.

I can't get anything on the bookmarks bar, despite the fact that, under the 'Favorites' menu the bookmarks bar folder is full. I've recently upgraded to Firefox 4, but it happened before that I did, and the upgrade did not help. All I get is an empty bar, and I can't drag something new on it.

Make sure you always have the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" on the personal bar

If the menu bar is hidden, then press F10, or press and hold the ALT key, which should make the "menu bar" appear

Make sure you have the 'personal bar' visible: "view > toolbars".

    • Check in "view > toolbars > customize" "Bookmarks Toolbar items" are on the personal bar
    • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the bookmarks toolbar, then get it back from the window Customize on the bookmarks toolbar
    • If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" then click on the button "Restore Default Set"
  • I have an infinite number of folders in the bookmarks bar

In my favorite, I have an infinite number of files "bookmarks bar". Not only is this annoying, but I think it can be causing my browser not meet often enough. How can I solve this?

Have you run a check of places.sqlite as I posted above?

Yes, I did. I unfortunately did not work. The only thing that works so far is disabling iCloud and Sync and manually delete the bookmarks. The problem is that if I turn on Sync, files return

Change your password synchronization using a camera, which will wipe your data from the sync server and allow a fresh load data not corrupted since this device "cleaned." And run Places maintenance on each device before plugging it back in sync with the new password on each computer in your office / portable computer devices.

Works with Firefox 22.0 and later versions

I wonder if this extension is still compatible with current versions of Firefox?
Just a hunch, but since Firefox for iOS beta was released last summer, "we" seem to have had a "slight increase" the number of threads similar to this one - support describing the proliferation of bookmarks files that are not part of Firefox for desktop / laptop, but rather added by a "3rd party" or a mobile device.
I can't test it, as I don't have mobile device not (and if I did it would be Android or based filed). I get suspicious when an add-on that "mess" with a feature that is as sophisticated as the database of places and/or participates with Sync is that long without an update.

And considering that Sync 1.5 was part of the 29 of Firefox, I wonder how compatible iCloud bookmarks always support Firefox to Firefox 22 is with Firefox now-a-days. A bit of incompatibility or the corruption of data multiplied by Firefox by contacting the synchronization server whenever Firefox is started is not very far-fetched. And then synchronize re - corrupt Firefox once Firefox connects to Sync... See where I'm going?
