The task bar is not hidden even with active auto-hide

Hide automatically is enabled and yet the taskbar remains high and sometimes hide vital information.  It's really annoying.

Thank you.

This sometimeshappens to you?  Don't ask me that why, I'm just a former truck driver, but there are a few programs that make the stick of the taskbar. Fits in my case Windows updates. I hope that this is a bug which will be addressed, but until, and in this case, I use this work around.

1 expect that no matter what etcetera copy, deletion, renaming of files, at the end.
2. press Ctrl + alt + delete.
3. Select .
4. Select the 'process '.
5. find 'explorer' and in the end this process. Disappears from the taskbar. (This will also close the Windows Explorer Windows, some error messages and etcetera copy, deletion, renaming of files that may be running.)
6. Select the "Applications" tab
7. click on
8. Type [Explorer] without the brackets.
9. click on

You can also scan your computer the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

Do a system restore. Take the date when you do NOT have such a problem as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type System Restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

  • Not maximizing the task bar when you click on Windows Explorer

When I place the mouse on the icon of the program in the taskbar Windows Explorer the small preview window/s is displayed but will not maximize in a large window.  When I click on it or right click "optimize" on the spotted, that nothing is happening.

In fact, probably we maximize or restore, but off the screen where you can not see.  This happened to me sometimes as well.

    Try this:

    1. hold SHIFT key and right-click on the icon in the task bar (or right click on the preview you did).
    2. choose the entrance to restore if it is not gray.
3 hold down the SHIFT key and click again on the icon in the taskbar.
    4. now, choose the entry of moving.
    5. without doing anything else, press one of the arrow keys (for example, the arrow on the left) of the keyboard.
    6. without anything click, move the mouse.  Your window should appear on the screen.
    7. click on the mouse to move the window, then you can resize or other to be where you want.

I suspect that this is a problem in several screen of Windows 7 support, and that the window actually believes that it is off on another monitor, even if you have no other active monitor.

  • Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.

Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.

Firefox window is sometimes "off screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt. You can delete this file and Firefox will return to standard window resizing.

#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the start search bar menu type or paste the following and press Enter to drill down to the profiles folder:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

Then, to re - light bars, you can use one of the following methods to view the list of the toolbar, and then select the desired bars it:

To activate the menu bar, toolbar bookmarks or other bars, click it in the list.

  • "print key" on the windows live photo gallery is hidden by the task bar, so I can't select it. How I choose it?

"print key" on the windows live photo gallery is hidden by the task bar, so I can't select it.  How I choose it?

Resize your window by clicking Restore button (or the - and the X in the upper right corner of the window) and drag the window to the where you can see the "print" key.  You can also minimize the window and drag it around.

Another thing you can do is to hold the CTRL key and press the letter P.  It still works.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • Menu button is missing when the menu bar is not selected

I'm using Firefox 41.0.1. The menu of Firefox in the upper left corner button is missing. I have disabled Menu bar button should be there. The menu bar works very well when I have the option checked, it's just the Firefox button is missing when I do not have the active menu bar.

Showing a Firefox button when the menu bar is not selected, it was a feature in the four Firefox via Firefox 28 versions. With 29 Firefox and later versions, there is no Firefox button - there is nothing displayed when the menu bar is hidden.

    Hey MikePressman,

The virus infestation rarely disables the Task Manager. Check if the DisableTaskMgr key exists in the registry editor.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following windows Help article.

    Back up the registry

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/back-up-the-registry

    a. go to start and type regedit.exe.

    b. navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

    c. on the right side, find a REG_DWORD value called DisableTaskMgr.

    d. If the key exists, you can delete the key or double-click on it and set its value to 0 to enable the taskbar.

    e. close Regedit.exe

    f. restart the computer.

Task Manager should be back now.

    Kind regards
