  When I search the Captivate forums, I get frequently without success. Is there a way to find all the Captivate forums and get hits? Here is an example of what happens to me.

  You know what I'm looking for? A list of differences, changes, additions (a point-by-point comparison) of Captivate v5 and Captivate v5.5. I think that hearing is an asset, but it seems that Captivate 5.5 is most often to get the subscription license on the market.

  As you have seen, searching for forums is at this point "extra crispy". He needs an IBM logo (it's broken, Maam).

  I heard rumors that the forums software will pass some time this month. I hope that those who are true, because we are a few versions behind in the updates of the forum.

  I must be crazy, but I can't see how to search all Dreamweaver forums. Two search fields, one for all adobe.com and the other for research of all forums but no option to search just this one?

• Where is the 'Acrobat Windows Forum search' button?

  I gave much this Sin forumthis changed format (reason no individual, I can see the improvements, but it seemed just to take a little more time to review and do things), so maybe I'm being dense with my subject line?  The first thing I usually want when I enter a forum is looking for a topic that can answer my question already, but I don't see are Adobe search options in the world (no thanks) or all forums (no, I'm in the Acrobat forum because I have a question of Acrobat ).  Once I sent back a list that includes unnecessarily all the forums, I get a new search bar and a drop-down list of Adobe applications, so I can limit, but I already used my daily allowance of mouse clicks and lose interest. Did I miss something?

• How to disable the toolbar to search related

  Visiting a few results from web sites in the appearance of a toolbar on the left, called "related searches." How to disable the toolbar?

  I have the feeling that it is injected by one of your modules. Here's my method to track down and clean the bad modules and ad injectors. I know it seems long, but it's not so bad.

  (1) open the Control Panel, uninstall a program. After the loading of the list, click on the column heading "installed on" to group infections, I mean additions by date. This can help the undisclosed items bundle smoker who snuck out with some software, you have agreed to install. Out as much garbage as possible here.

  (2) open Firefox page modules using either:

  • CTRL + SHIFT + a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
  • in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
    firefox.exe "about:addons"

  In the left column, click on Plugins. Set essential and unrecognized plugins 'never enable '.

  In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions.

  Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

  Any improvement?

  (3) you can search the rest of problems with scanning/cleaning tools listed in our technical support article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware. These scanners on request are free and take a long time to run. If they end quickly, especially if they require the payment you have a serious infection. I suggest the specialty forums listed in the article in this case.

• PDF documents are INVISIBLE the Windows 7 search engine

  Help!  When you create PDF documents in 7 the window, no problem creation, open, move, copy, etc.  HOWEVER, when I use the search function of Windows 7 (start, enter the name in "search programs and files"), these PDF files are INVISIBLE to the search engine.  We never find them!  In addition, the icon of the thumbnail of the file that I created is the standard PDF icon BUT with a blue square in the lower left corner w / arrows 2 "superior to" (as opposed to a green box with a check mark).  Please HELP I use this function to search constantly and create PDF documents regularly!  Thank you!

  When I contacted Adobe support on this issue, I was told that the 64-bit filter had not been tested on Win7, so I went to the foxit iFilter.  Even this has not worked for me.  Then I discovered it was my antivirus software which is in conflict with Win7 ability to correctly generate indexes.

• Track substantive addition to the Captivate file in hearing

  Hello.  Does anyone know how to add a second track to my audio of the entire project once I have stumble at the hearing?  I want to add background music and control the volume that the Captivate for a background audio clip feature.

  You have no answer yet, probably because the question is not clear. You use the feature back and forth to edit audio project in hearing? If Yes, what version of Audition and Captivate you use? If you are indeed looking for a stream of work add a track to the hearing, maybe you'll have better turn on the forum of the hearing.

  Yes. Messages have not been indexed since mid-December, pending an upgrade of the software next forum who may - or may not - happen in April.

  I couldn't find "my content" in the adobe forums. Please help me. While I could see my queries.

  Click on your drop-down menu user (at the top right next to the search box), and then select View profile. From there, select the activity or content. You can also just click on your name in any discussion and access your profile page.

• Keep the Captivate 5 on PC when upgrading to 6 Captivate?

  I am currently using Captivate 5. I want to upgrade to Captivate 6, but I have a big project that is almost done in Captivate 5 - we just need to add audio (narration and background music).

  Is it possible to upgrade to Captivate 6 but also keep Captivate 5 on my PC, so that I can finish the online course in Captivate 5 (that is, the same version that I used to develop)?

  Another related question would be: is is possible to open a Captivate 5 to 6 Captivate advanced courses with minimal problems?

  On the same computer, you can have Adobe® Captivate® 5 and 6 of Adobe Captivate.

  You can open the CP5 CP6 project, but you cannot open project CP5 CP6

• Flash increases the size of the Captivate SWF file

  I have a Captivate project that I export to Flash. Flash increases the final size of the SWF file with no items or perform any other edition. For example, the Captivate published SWF is 617KO and the Flash SWF published 1 599 Ko without adding anything. In addition, the JPG settings are of the same quality in both programs.

  I have to make some changes to the code AS that is beyond the capabilities of advanced Actions of Captivate.

  Any ideas that I could do to stop the inflation of file size?

  Having Flash generates a report of size when you publish the swf file so that you might be able to see whence the weight.

  You should post in the forum of Captivate in the case where there are people have similar experiences that can help shed some light on this.

  I am struggling to find old messages of the forum, are they fed here in this new 'adobe' forum or the content old/archived disappeared?

  I find the results returned search very little and the whole process a bit awkward.

  Any tips?

  Due to the large differences in systems nothing has come in these new forums. There is a certain FAQ and some documents but if you can't find something do not hesitate to ask the community on what your after.

• Where is the text for the index and search tabs saved?

  It is specifically in RoboHelp 9 - although the answer may be the same for other versions.

  I wonder, when WebHelp is created, where to get the text to use in the indexing and search tabs?

  Specifically, I'm looking for (and change), the text in the Index tab that reads, "type in the keyword to find:" and the text in the Search tab that reads, "Type in the words to search for:

  I suspect these two phrases are in a file .lng somewhere, and just this file needs to be changed...

  The mentioned Colum .lng file are accessible more easily by clicking on file > project settings > Advanced button > LNG tab

  Under LNG, you will see everything most of the default labels for different items. It is better to work here on the source of LNG, rather than trying to change the output WebHelp that will be replaced later the next time that you build.

  I'm having trouble changing control of the Captivate 4 player.

  In the past, I was able to change the reading player successfully bar control in Captivate 2 and 3, but the new player controls are structured differently.

  I use the Flash CS3 ActionScript 3 value.

  I open the file cpPlaybar (video Clip), select the background layer (2nd on the timeline).

  In the Actions - Frame (I have selected 3.0 ActionScript) I placed this code:

  When I test the movie I get an error:

  Symbol "cpPlaybar", the layer "background", frame 1, line 1

  Syntax error: extra characters found after the end of the program. "{onClipEvent (enterFrame)}

  Can someone give me a hint as to where I could go wrong? If there are tutorials of Captivate 4 there to change the playback bar could someone send me links to those?

  Hi, TPK,

  The code you entered is Actionscript 2.0 so will not work in an AS3 file.  In AS3, the properties are different and there is usually no underlining thus ._parent is .parent and ._x is .x etc..

  You must also create an event listener - you can't just write onclipevent (myevent) how you could in AS2.

  I would like to suggest that perhaps you should stick with AS2 (you do not have to use AS3 in Captivate 4 or Flash CS3).  Here is a post that might help you: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/435869?tstart=0

  Otherwise, you will need to consider some Actionscript 3.0 tutorials to understand how to write and trigger functions.  But moving from AS2 to AS3 is something that I would allow a few weeks (or months if you're like me).  If there is no other reason for rewriting of the PlayBar in AS3 just keep your preferences of project such as AS2.
