Which Captivate Forum?

When I search the Captivate forums, I get frequently without success. Is there a way to find all the Captivate forums and get hits? Here is an example of what happens to me.

When I search for messages with strings like "v5.5" or "v 5.5" I don't get any results, but I know the post exists. " What I am doing wrong? Here are a few screenshots

What I'm looking for:

Adobe Captivate Search Forums Screen Shot with post not found.png

I'll be back:

Adobe Captivate Search Forums Screen Shot.png

But here is a post in the forum "Project Upgrade":

Adobe Captivate Search Forums Screen Shot with post found.png

Yet, when I go on the 'Project Upgrade' forum and look for the same thing, I get no results?

Here's the forum with the search string is entered:

Project Upgrade Search Forums Screen Shot with post not found.png

The results of this research are:

Project Upgrade Search Forums Screen Shot with post not found results.png

For example, "Search this forum" does not work?

You know what I'm looking for? A list of differences, changes, additions (a point-by-point comparison) of Captivate v5 and Captivate v5.5. I think that hearing is an asset, but it seems that Captivate 5.5 is most often to get the subscription license on the market.

P.S. I noticed that I am posting this in the location "Adobe Forums > Adobe Captivate > Adobe Captivate» It is that of

Hello

As you have seen, searching for forums is at this point "extra crispy". He needs an IBM logo (it's broken, Maam).

I heard rumors that the forums software will pass some time this month. I hope that those who are true, because we are a few versions behind in the updates of the forum.

Until the forum software is upgraded and the search begins (hopefully) working so you are better off using the advanced Google search.

See you soon... Rick

  • How to stop automatic advance for one of the models of Captivate brothers e-Learning?

Hi, I use the model direct-blocks-of-info 21660 and I removed the check marks because they are not necessary for my purpose. However, after that I removed the checkmark, the audo slide moves to the next slide before users are able to complete by clicking on the tabs. Is there a way to stop the auto-avancement without checkmarks? Thank you!

Could you please send this question on the site of brothers in e-Learning? It is a Captivate forum, user to another, and it is very difficult to get an idea of the configuration of all of these features in Captivate. I suspect it has to do with breaking a tip (or shared) action, but not exactly where. If you subscribe to any object that is used in a tip action, the command for that action is no longer valid and will be replaced by "Continue", which could explain the behavior. As a temporary workaround: do not remove the check marks but making them "invisible" by changing their alpha to 0%, if these are images, or changing the color to the background color if they are characters.

  • Captivate 8 to 9 Captivate corruption of conversion

Converting Captivate 8 to 9 Captivate, my conditional action scripts have been corrupted and became standard action in the file of version 9 scripts - can someone help me?

[Left the lounge general Forum for the Captivate forum - Mod]

There was a bug in the first release of the CP9 (they are converted to shared standard actions). It was quickly resolved with the patch, but at this point that the correction is also in the latest version, which apparently does not install yet. This release is 9.0.1.320. Update as soon as possible!

  • Track & quot; State & quot; in Captivate 2.0

    Hello Captivate Forum members,

First of all - thanks for the help and the right information that provides this forum!

My question of the day is: can I track the status of captivate?
    I am using Captivate 2.0.

I want to say is: I have a setup of slides with 5 buttons. Each press of a button the user leads to a specific slide in the
presentation. If the user clicks a button on a given slide this slide "back to main menu", is there a way of
shaded the first button was clicked? The idea here is so the use can see which part of the tutorial
    has been seen.

Scenario - the user clicks on a button, watch a presentation, go back to the main slide, click a different button, show a different presentation, returns to the main slide and now two buttons are gray, showing which object has been seen so far.

Thanks for the tips. I thought some kind of Javascript could be used to do this?

Thanks again for a useful forum,

    eholz1

Good question. To my knowledge there is no way to take the State in the environment of Captivate. You could do it in Flash 8 (export to...) If you are qualified for this application, but not in Captivate itself. Sorry...

  • Recent Flash kills out of Captivate player

This isn't a Christmas present. I'm pretty busy on the Captivate forum and today we get a lot of complaints. The latest version of Flash Player (20.0.0.267) prevents all published course Captivate with output as SWF to play. Same thing happens to output created with its competitors. Maybe Adobe cares to competitors, but internally least e-Learning software for authoring, Adobe Captivate, need to be tested. It is not the first time that this has happened with a new Flash Player, and we are used to the workflow of trips and returns being broken whenever a new version of Photoshop or hearing is available.  All course designers must now warn users not to update the Flash Player, have no idea of how many learners are now screaming at that time that their courses no longer work.

Please, support to users of Adobe is already considered very bad! How to explain to users of Captivate that Adobe cannot avoid this situation? I'm out of inspiration source to find an acceptable explanation. This is the reason why I post this question.

Where are the Subforums? Only way I could go to a subforum for the moment is when I get an email from one of these forums, but I did not agree to everyone, only those who get the most questions. Where are the "Get Started", the Quizzing and LMS, the Advanced... Captivate forums etc? They are still there, only is not accessible directly from the web page of the forums.

More than 24 hours, it was not possible to get on the forum, with Chrome, or IE.

Please, frequent users, support my request to restore these Subforums ASAP

For some reason, I get 0 hits on even the most basic search terms when I'm looking for within the Captivate forum > all forums search box.  If I run the same conditions of Google search, I get a lot of hits in the forums.  Someone else?  What I'm missing here?

  • Captivate 5 gel problem trying to add subtitles to the video

    Hi there-

I try to add subtitles to a video (.f4v) I inserted as "Video Slide" on a slide in a presentation of Adobe® Captivate® 5.  I click on the video to select, go to the properties panel, select 'Edit video synchronization' and then click on the Panel of captioning to try to add captions and then Captivate completely freezes and crashes so not only can I not to add captions to video, but I have to use the Windows Task Manager close.

I've seen this process shows a tutorial from Lynda.com, and the instructor doesn't seem to have this problem with Captivate 5.

Any thoughts?  Other users have found a work around at all?  I mean, I know I could audio from the video, then attach it to the slide and make the captioning in this way, but it would be much easier (and much more logical) to add it directly to video, especially since that's what you are supposed to be able to do.

I use Captivate 5 on Windows 7.  I also have Captivate 5 on a personal Macintosh and you have not yet tried to see if the problem occurs on this platform, as well.  Has anyone experience this problem?  Sorry for the length - this is my first forum of validation, so I'll try to provide as much information as possible.

    Hi Dan,.

    Welcome to Adobe Captivate Forums.

You can try to add the subtitles to the video after the removal of the preferences.

Follow these steps to remove preferences

    1. close Captivate so momentum already

    2. go to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Adobe

    3. find a folder named "Captivate 5.

    4 delete the folder

    5. now launch Captivate and try your workflow

Let us know if this solved the problem.

  • Is this possible in Captivate 3?...

I have Macromedia Captivate 1.0, and it does not have what it takes. I was wondering if upgrading to Captivate 3 would solve the problem. Here's what I would do...

I need to have a screen of 'menu' which would have, say, three "tasks" to complete. The user would choose a 'task' and while they could watch a demo on this subject, or they could try in "test mode". If they pass it in "test" mode (by clicking in all the correct places), then Captivate will somehow it tick (or put a check mark next to it) or something on the main menu with the three tasks. Once all three tasks have been "marked" in Test Mode, then Captivate will pass a variable 'complete' the LMS via SCORM compliance...

Is this possible with the last Captivate? Or other tools would be needed to achieve this? If Captivate 3 alone can handle this, it is a relatively painless process? Thank you!!!

As long as initialize you the SCORM API and the report by using the correct calls, I think not that SCORM care about what was going on within the SCO, once it is launched.

If you are not interested in the follow-up to the notes of the user and I just want simple, at least you should try scoring mechanism internal to debone Captivate. This assumes that you have correctly configured the LMS to only expect a notification of the completion of each SCO.

The only way to add custom in Captivate features is to insert as a standalone Flash movie, so you can easily insert a Flash movie on the last slide that will solve your global flag 'complete' for the checkmarks. Identifying uniquely each file to know what box to show could be a stumbling block, but a global variable in your menu would probably take care of that.

By the way the finished flag back to the LMS seems to be the hardest part. Either you have to build your own full SCORM wrapper or patch in which Captivate provides when you publish on SCORM.

If you choose to piggyback on the feature of Captivate, pore through Captivate scorm_support.js file and I hope to be able to determine Javascript variables/functions to change.

In A2, the file is located in:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2\Templates\Publish\SCORM_support\scorm_support.js

    Good luck!

  • Why am I unable to send an email to support

    Hi team

Why I can't find anywhere to directly contact a support person no matter what I do I simply could not find a direct contact email address.

When you try to solve a problem with captivate 5 I tried everything

    • Removal of resources
    • Uninstalling the program eLearning suite 2
    • Relocation of eLearning suite 2 (due to a problem with installation of Adobe Air)
    • Tried to install Adobe Air separately (some problems)
    • Tried to update of eLearning suite 2 (had an error message... "Some updates could not install... all of them!)
    • He spent more than an hour through the fiasco of 'contact support '.

Am I a little oversensitive here in being upset?

For Adobe, I ask simply that there will be a more easy way to communicate with them

For the forum, I just ask if there is someone who can give advice on... other than the upgrade to a newer version or just stop ranting. It's now out of my system and I am now completely quiet... Honest!

There is an email address to contact Adobe.  You can contact them via chat or by phone when they support these options, but this is not usually on the weekend.

Chat support - the link below click the still need help? the option in the blue box below and choose the option to chat...
Make sure that you are logged on the Adobe site, having cookies enabled, clearing your cookie cache.  If it fails to connect, try to use another browser.  http://helpx.Adobe.com/x-productkb/global/Service1.html ( http://adobe.ly/1aYjbSC )

I'm not sure where Captivate is version-wise, but be aware that Adobe is no longer support beyond activation problems, so if you think that older programs is something waiting for you: I can't say for sure.  Only, they provide telephone support for their new products.  Your only option would be to try to get help through the forums, in which case you will need to provide information about the problem itself, rather than simply indicate that you have tried. You can also try the Captivate forums.

HTML5 questions currently become the most common theme in discussions of the Captivate forum.  Saying that what "works well for i-devices' is almost impossible.

All THE output files which publishes Captivate must be uploaded to the Web server. If you use the file multiscreen.html , then who is that you tell people to link to in order to launch the content.  It is supposed to allow you to give a unique link for users, regardless of whether they are on a desktop, Flash Drive PC runnign or on a mobile device that is not.

If you selected output SWF and HTML5 that you have selected the multiscreen option in the dialog box to publish, then Cp publishes for both platforms and the multiscreen.html file is supposed to lead the user to any content is appropriate for them. But as I said, this is not bullet-proof-guaranteed to work because HTML5 is the Wild West of the web development right now.

One thing I discovered today, it's that when the publication of content, you need to make sure there is no spaces in the name of the project title because Captivate creates your HTM and SWF file exactly names depending on what you enter, capitalization and including spaces.  Unfortunately, when you download this content on a web server that mixed capitalization case and spaces in filenames can break your links.
