the case-sensitivity of vCM compliance question

I'm new to the vCM.  In fact, we had only the vCM installed for about three weeks now.  I worked on getting our environment vSphere guide 5.1-compatible hardening that I imported, but I seem to have encountered a problem.  On some virtual machine checks (i.e. disable-console-gui-options - explicitly disable copy and paste operations rule) I noticed came returned as nonconforming which I believe they shouldn't be so I went back and checked the logic of what the rule was looking for.  During the audit of the rule, everything seemed to be OK however the condition has been verified to some value to 'false' when in reality it is set to 'FALSE' on some virtual machines.  In my mind, this means it must be consistent, since it is the same value just a different case.  Does anyone know a way around this?  I tried the following.

(1) change conditional to check the value = "false" or Value = "FALSE".

(2) change conditional to check the value as 'false '.

None of these worked.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

vSphere API data is case-sensitive. For example, you can have several virtual machines with the same name if the cases are different.

In any case, for this rule, I think you want to change in value ('FALSE', 'false')

If there is any other combination of case, you can add them to the list as well.

  • Print the location case sensitivity

    Hi all

    Recently, we have engaged in a project and the server has 2 files, FOLDER and file. Why, FILE, this is where we want PDF files will be printed and the printer in the ini files tags point to the capitalized version. When you start the sh file for print however, the files are placed in the folder in lowercase and if we remove the tiny folder, documaker simply can not find the file in uppercase. Is it possible to make the case sensitive way and see the allcaps folder?

    Thank you!

    All the files and directories used in Documaker on Unix platforms are tiny, regardless of the case used in the INI files.

  • Photoshop CS6 (extended) installation on case-sensitive disks

    I understand that under the "requirements" of the Adobe Web site says you can't install PS CS6 (Extended) on the case-sensitive drives (I use a MacBook Pro, OS X v. 10.7.4).  This seems to have been the case at least since CS5.

    I did not see this, and I bought (excitedly) update CS PS5 (Extended) to SP6.  I had NO PROBLEM installation PS5 on this drive.

    Of course, as others have said, the installer refuses to allow you to install on a case-sensitive drive (for example, no options to install on another drive).  There is also no mention that CS6 must be installed on the boot drive.

    Requiring installation on the boot drive has serious implications for those of us who need readers sensitive to other work; I don't want to have to restart on another drive when I use PS and switch back and forth - it's all just stupid.

    From my point of view (as a user, granted), this is lazy programming, and this must be resolved as soon as POSSIBLE.  At least in my case, I have a piece of a $400 software just too place, when I want to be up to my eyeballs enjoying PS6 throughout it's fame.

    Outside an Adobe fix, I don't see a solution to this problem.  If I wipe my drive, put in shape in case-insensitive, then I lose the functionality for other critical work.  In addition, I'm not sure the process of wiping the disk, formatting it not sensitive to case and restore TimeMachine everything would be even work (since the backup hardware is from a case-senstive drive and try to go to a drive that is not case sensitive).

    The REALLY frustrating part is that I have installed Photoshop 3, 4 and 5 (and much, much further) on the casing of the disks - all with no problem.  It is only now that the question slap me in the face.

    It has to be a work around, if not a 'real' solution.

    What help you might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated; details can be sent to cdretk at gmail dot com

    I hope, and I thank you in advance.

    Now I solved it (no thanks Adobe, who I am very disappointed).

    In the past, when you wanted to install something on your Mac, you simply copy a folder in your Applications directory.

    Photoshop (among other programs) got more complicated, it is decided that it must install things in the different system directories and potentially in your user directory.

    That is the question (and the solution, in this case).  My user directory is on the drive that is case-sensitive.  I don't know what Adobe needs to install (as Photoshop is, after installation, available to all users), but this has been the key.

    SOLUTION: Log on as another user (administrator-enabled) and install it.  Bang - it works without any problem.

    Yes, I still had to copy all my plug-ins, etc. of the PS5 by hand (and sort those SP6 is not like - once again at hand), but at least it works.

    Good software engineering practices dictate that installed software should PREFER discs case-sensitive and not case insensitive (think of the data).

    Good installation support (on the phone) should at least suggest trying another user account...

    Adobe: You owe me for my time on this one.  Where should I send my invoice?

  • Find/replace: how to force case sensitive?

    Hello

    I'm doing a find / change and cannot work out how to force the wildcard to be lowercase. I am trying to replace E e, but it's for me instead.

    Should I use the glyph of find / change, perhaps? I don't want to limit my search to a single font and style.

    I'm doing a series of find / change using the FindChangeByList.jsx script. I don't know if it will make a difference for all solutions.

  • Passwords are case-sensitive in 11g

    Hello

    It is a rather silly position, but I've been googling and can't find if Developer SQL supports case-sensitive or not connection. I read some other clients always send a 'uppercase' password (no matter how you typed it) that causes problems with Oracle 11 g. Is "compatible" with the new policy of the case-sensitivity of 11g SQL-Developer?

    Thank you.

    Yes SQL Developer is certainly compatible with the case of 11g password.

    Update 2 in the question, I am able to see which is reached from the server console. The customer was sending additional labels and with in the body tag, which is not recognized by the server of web service application and it throw the customer 500 internal server error. • The WCS URLS are case sensitive?

    Hello Expers,

    We use Microsoft application Oracle Web center sites 11.1.1.6.1, in our website, the URLS are case-sensitive.

    If we wrongly enter any letter in different case(upper/lower) in the URL, giving the content server error.

    We do all customizations?

    Please let us know your valuable suggestions.

    Thank you

    Delphine Pilli.

    Hi delphine,.

    If I understand your question, the answer is Yes, and the best way to achieve this is Vanity URL. The only problem is that in 11.1.1.6.1 is not yet supported, so you would have to implement the framework GSF or update your product to the new version of the Sites with WC, in which this feature is already implemented. Working with Vanity URL, you can easily create URLS for your types of assets, even create patterns that auto generates the links. So, for example, you can use. toLowerCase() to the name of the asset or another similar methods to create the link like you. Take a look at the Oracle documentation:

    Configuration of Vanity URLs - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.8.0)

    Kind regards

    Enrique

  • Why are case-sensitive in the wrong place?

    Why are case-sensitive in the wrong place after conversion?

    If you want Acrobat to replicate your results, you must either use a program layout (as Design) or select the Adobe PDF printer in the print of your application menu before making your layout. Most processors redistribute the document based on the printer which is attached (i.e., it uses the settings of the printer). If you change the printer so that in WORD for example, the layout in WORD can change radically. This is what happens when you use the Adobe PDF printer. This isn't a question of Acrobat, but a word processor.

    MS out of printer settings in WORD with the first version of OFFICE 2007, but it seems to be back on by default. I guess they found, there was reason to leave it on (the box is buried in the menu options in WORD). This aspect of reflow is one thing that creates major problems for developers of WORD forms of WORDS. Depending on the machine, the shape may ebb and part go to the next page if not careful (I've had these types of forms before, particularly where people are trying to learn a lot on the page).

    Neither one of us know if we have answered your question because you give enough information to be able to tell. The key for almost any application is to change the printer to the Adobe PDF printer before you do business with any document. On my laptop, the Adobe PDF printer is the default and modify other printers if I happen to be connected to them.

  • Then if the statement not be case-sensitive?

    Hey guys.  The two pages I have to fill in for work contain the same data, but their issue numbers are different and I have to convert the question numbers. I have two textfields: HQ_1 # and HQ_1 #DI and I wrote a giant if then statement to act like the converter in question to change the letter of the entrances to what is appropriate to this other page (worth 20 points of entry)... It looks like this

    "Sloppy code.

    li1 var = this.getField("HQ_1#");

    di1 var = this.getField ("HQ_1 #DI");

    If (li1.value == "1 c" | li1.value == "1 c")

    {

    DI1. Value = '1');

    }

    Else if (li1.value == "1 d" | li1.value == "1 d")

    {

    DI1. Value = "1 b);

    }

    on the other

    {

    DI1. Value = "";

    }

    While I put 1 c or 1 c the form above, it resumes at A below... GREAT! But this isn't an optimal coding... I would like to learn to code efficiently, so basically I would like to settle there where she is something like If (li1.value == "1 c" | li1.value == "1 c') and to work independently of 1 c or 1 entered c... I know that there is a way to get the if then to not be case-sensitive, but I can't understand it... I added this code in the box of calculation in HQ_1 # to see if it would work, but it's not:

    If (event.value! = null) event.value = event.value.toUpperCase ();

    After adding this code, HQ_1 # visually show as caps 1 c If 1 it went, but I guess that it still stores like 1 it... That my problem...  The code "cut off" from If (li1.value is "1 c") does not appear 1 to because I typed in 1 it... Although "1 c" appears.  So basically I took this at the moment and I went with my Sloppy Code.

    PS This is the first thing I did for myself, so I'm glad my work so far.

    You can decide what you want to continue working with upper or lower case. Then you can simplify all by applying toUpperCase() or toLowerCase() to the value in the fi section. It will look like this (assuming that you are working with the lowercase):

    If (event.value.toString () .toLowerCase () is "1 c")

    Note that we ensure that event.value will be processed as a string by converting it to a string with the toString() method. Maybe that's not necessary if you can ensure that event.value will always be of the string type.

    I hope this can help.

  • the entrance is not sensitive to the case of the user name?

    I have a login section which has a username and password entry field. I don't know if I'm doing this right, but since there is only a single user name and password, this is how I did it.

    function checkPassword(userN:String,_passW:String):Void {}

    }
    }

    Now, my question is how can I have the username will be not not case-sensitive. Is this possible?

    Many thanks for any help!

    You can use the toLowerCase() and toUpperCase() for you methods give a string that you can compare with reliability. You can also sort all stray space characters that the user can type. Try something like this:

  • 'Find' is case-sensitive and the option does not appear on the search bar

    As I said, it is case sensitive. I looked for an answer and everyone says uncheck case-sensitive on the search bar, but he's not here. I am on a mac with os x 10.9.4 using Firefox 32.0.1.

    I thought about it. I had to restart with disabled addons. I don't know which extension caused the problem, but the change stuck when I re-enabled the addons.
