Volume problem case-sensitive Mac installing

When I try to install the trial version of Production Premium on my Mac, the following message appears: "we met the following problems.

Installation on volumes that case sensitive is not supported. Please select a different volume for the installation. »

I tried dragging it in many places on the hard drive and on the desktop, where is he anyway? What is a volume? What is the 'case-sensitive volume' and how can I find one that is not case sensitive?

Saluti

  • The hearing Adobe installation problem: case sensitive Volumes not supported.

    Hello

I'm trying to assessment of 30 days of hearing, to see if he's not in my workflow. I'm for the installation point, and the Adobe program manager reported that it does not support case-sensitive Volumes. It tells me to select another volume. However, it is a laptop computer with a disk. Now, I could erase the disk, reformat the drive into 2 partitions, a modern and archaic for Audition play one - and reinstall all the 900 GB + on it, but that would take a few days. I don't want to reformat and partition my drive for a program I am trying simply to try before you buy.

My time is running out. So, unless there is a reasonable and fairly quick resolution for this I will continue to look for an editor who can work for me.

  • Installation on case-sensitive mac

I have two volumes on my MBP. One - case-sesetive SSD drive is running on my system. A - an another HARD drive not case sensitive. I want to install photoshop and flash player on my HARD drive, but I can't do that, because the installation program do not ask me where to install Adobe products. How can I change?

  • Installer think volume is case sensitve

I have two volumes on my mac.  The system volume is case-sensitive.  I have a separate volume of sensitive without respect where I run CS4.  I read the prerequisites before I bought Illustrator and Photoshop CS5: "2GB of available disk space for installation; additional space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)"Fine.  I can install it on a separate volume of sensitive without respect.  NOpe:

Run the installer from the Volume of NO RESPECT for CASE-SENSITIVE, I get an error: "The Installation to a case-sensitive volume is not supported."  I guess that means I can't install CS5 to a non case-sensitive volume because I am just lucky to have a volume of case sensitive on my system?

Applications Adobe has really need to be installed on the boot volume.  End of the story.

  • Problems when trying to install photoshop - "Installation of case-sensitive drives is not supported"? !!

    Heya,
I am new to the forum and the kind of hasty looking for an answer so I'm sorry if I posted this in what you think isn't the best section.

Basically, I use a mac at the moment and since last year my old laptop broken I'll have to borrow a mac and my knowledge of macs pritty small - enough for myself around but it's thanks a lot there.
So I was wondering if someone could explain to me in basic terms how I can solve this problem, thank you.
I downloaded the demo of Photoshop Cs5, but stumbled on the problem "readerscase-sensitive Installation is not supported. Please choose a different drive location to install.", I know a lot of people have met and there are solutions on the forums but I'm kind of stuck on what to do since my knowledge of Mac is not so great.
I also have a windows on the mac operating system, but also the "Mac OS X 10.6.8"-which I have installed the trial of photoshop on. "."
But I do not know where to go from here...
I don't know even how to install the trial photoshop here if I need, agh.
So if someone has the time to explain to me what to do so that I can use with happiness the trial on the mac I understand that, thanks

Edit: So I did probably just something worse still, but since I couldn't find any uninstall program I dragged the photoshop in the trash and sure emoy trashed it. Tried to re - download but couldn't, agh! My trial runs out and I really need a quick answer please.

Adobe on the Mac applications will simply and categorically not install on a case-sensitive to format hard drive.  Period.

The only solution is to backup your data and reformat the hard disk from scratch with Macintosh extended (journaled) with Apple disk utility, thus wiping all information about it.

No ifs or goals.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

  • DVD cannot install on Mac to format hard disk [using a case-sensitive file system]

This morning I received my DVD with Lightroom 6 Win/Mac. I have inserted in my drive superdrive. But: Installation on my MacBookPro was denied, reason: my hard drive format is supported by the use of small and capital letters - which is the way normal for MacOs and necessary for backup with TimeMachine. What is the use of a Mac-DVD which can not be installed on a Mac? Something must be wrong here. Would be very grateful for help.

'Standard' OS X file system is not case sensitive. Although you can use upper and lowercase in a filename to the extent where the system is concerned 'Filename' and 'filename' are the same. So if you try to copy files with the same name regardless of the case so the copy will result in a dialog box asking if you want to replace a file of the same name.

I guess in your case, your disks have been formatted with case-sensitive file system, and you should generally refrain from using a file system case-insensitive with OS X.

  • Failed to install Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (case-sensitive user directory)

    Hello

I have problems to install Adobe Acrobat XI Pro on my Mac (10.8.3). The installer fails with the message:

The installation failed. Setup has encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the manufacturer of the software.

After looking in the Setup log (/ var/log/install.log), the problem is:

Note that my $HOME directory is on a separate partition from the junkyard. Otherwise, the system partition (where / applications is located) is a case insensitive as usual.

So, why can't I install the latest version of Acrobat with a case-sensitive $HOME directory? I had no such problems in installation of Acrobat 9 Pro.

Is there a way to get around this?

    Thank you.

Well, you can temporarily change the path variable during installation... Otehrwise it is correct. Adobe apps don't support case-sensitive sort volumes because - well - software engineers the Apple API for this are atrocious and unreliable.

Unfortunately not MiMo-2012.  All Adobe for Mac OS software requires a volume of sensative without respect.  Alternatively, you may find that you experience the same problems with other applications as well.
