• Downloads of the Windows of Skype for Mac version, instead of the Mac version... Please help

  I'm trying to download the Mac of Skype on my Macbook, but whenever I try downloading, the Windows file is downloaded to my Mac and not the Mac version. I tried this several times now, and I double checked to make sure that I'm clicking on the Mac version to download, but I am unable to get the Mac version. You will advise please?

• Skype does not in closing the program. (Skype 7.17 - Windows 10)

  I used to have the problem where Skype will stop at random to answer when I tried to start, which would force me to close it with the Task Manager, then try again.
  After a lot of fiddling around, update drivers, update of Internet Explorer (please kill me why is this one thing) and so on... I finally managed to get this problem to the most out of my life.
  Now, still only a problem When I try to close the program (by right-clicking on the icon and "quit") it just does not... at all... Strangely it does not change the "not responding" mode, it's just... died. Even in taskmanager it does not show as a "no answer", but he acts as if nothing is wrong.
  
  Here's what "solutions do not work:
  -Remove temporary files
  -deleting files appdata
  -do a clean reinstall
  -addition of "'https://apps.skype.com ' on sites in IE 'internet options'"
  -Remove "'https://apps.skype.com ' on sites in IE 'internet options'"
  -closing all individually the program other than Skype and try again
  -Deletes the registry values for Skype (it was my last resort)
  
  NOTE: While looking through possible questions, I noticed that my Skype in the program compatibility mode is locked 'Windows Vista'... it is grayed out and cannot be changed, no matter what I try. Haven't found a solution for this yet (not even in safe mode).

  The first thing to do is to identify the compatibility set to Skype options.

  Right click on the shortcut on the desktop, select Properties, then the Compatibility tab.

  Press the button "Change settings for all users" and disable the compatibility options in this tab

  I am based in Singapore and would prefer a personal number, so would like to know if there is a way at all where I always get my own number despite my current position even if it involves a number of other countries as well as slightly higher rates, there may be.

• Cannot make calls to the cell, only Skype

  Everytime I try to dial a number, Skype appears as the default. I could not find the settings to change the phone back on to cell, seems that Skype just took over the phone. For crying out loud on cell phone I had to uninstall Skype. Help! I want Skype WiFi finally.

  I'm not sure who gave the answer could understand what I wrote! I know what caused the problem, install 'SKYPE '! There is no problem of this magnitude before this, I had run all shooters of boredom and changed the power settings, all were useless, the only thing that helped so far, was to change the HDD to 3 hours stop, it was only that I've been away all day and would not wake up that I hit the Start button then the usual questions resurfaced as pending problems forever and script.

  I tried to install Skype today and McAffee blocked it saying it the installation file has a virus.  Think this detection was a mistake by McAfee and since I downloaded the program directly from the site of Syke I turned it off.  I removed Skype folders and clean all temporary files of Windows and my user profile.  Also, I cleaned up all other temporary files using Cleanmgr.  After that, I was able to restart the installation of Skype.  It was not long to get a lot of pop strange messages.  I immediately right click on the taskbar to access the Task Manager and stop installation.  To my surprise, the task manager has been disabled.  Who confirmed that I had just been infected by a virus.  So I pressed the power button to turn off the computer.  I have restared in safe mode and run the utility to restore the system (rstui.exe).  After I restored the computer to a previous point all was back to normal.

  It seems that someone has hacked into the site and replaced the installer with an infected.

  Hello, I had just fixed yesterday. I deleted the drivers and programs that accompanies it, it ends up being the lifecam software that comes with it interfering with Skype, thanks to all who help :)
