  CS2. I was able to get their hands on Adobe via Twitter, and they gave me a link to a download of CS2, which seems to have solved the problem. Apparently they close their activation server. I had to reinstall CS2 using their number of series/download.

  OK go you can try to run the uninstall program located in/Applications/Utilities/Adobe install.  It may not work because of the method you used to remove the software.  If you still have problems then you can try running Cleanup CS5 Script - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.
