First, I would check since it is professional Vista was that computer on a field of work or it was already on an area of work? There may be group policies that are in place that prevent to run MMC.

I am trying to reinstall Illustrator CS4 because it doesn 't start. But if I try to reinstall from Creative Suite disk it freezes and will not install. CS6 upgrade will not identify the existing Installation of CS5.5
I have a legal copy of CS5.5 Master Collection for Windows on my PC. It is installed on an SSD, mapped to the B drive for speed. Just purchased and downloaded CS6 Production Premium for Windows. Entered the serial number, but the installer could not find the installation of MC CS5.5 (itself an upgrade to a version full of CS5 MC) so he prompted me to the S/N of a qualifying product. I entered my CS5.5 MC S/N, and the installer says that it is not a product calling. What gives, and how do I solve this problem and get the CS6 switch to run? Thank you.
You are partially right. I contacted Adobe support and they were able to help me with a special code. Of course, it's sort of downgrade (but I use no more product non-ProdPro like InDesign) but it is legal and I did qualify for the upgrade price. Choices in Setup included CS 5.5 MC, so that Setup is misprogrammed so that is not supposed to happen. So now I moved on, no worries.

I'm not able to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 or AdobeAIR, newspapers show that at the start of msi installation starts to roll back. I looked to windows update install, but it could not install also. Adobe thinks that I have a problem with the admin. The computer is 7 years old with XP home, that maybe that's simply too old. I didn't install such problems in the past.
Give - this one shot, Gary. Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself.

1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).
3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) via Add/Remove programs.
4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.
NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!
5. double-click on the file that you saved in #1 above to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.
6. do a clean install of Norton 360 4.x (using your product ID, if need be); CF. http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN
NOTE: Do NOT activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.
7. manually and repeatedly run LiveUpdate (Norton) until you get a prompt "no update more".
8. open IE8 to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 & run the difficulty.
9. open IE8 (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run that set it by DEFAULT and modes and AGGRESSIVE. [1]
10. restart once again & test.
