  • View / access the custom page numbers? (Android)

    Hello.

    So I have a certain ebooks that start directly with the number of page 1 of the actual book. There is a page of coverage and then a few pages numbered in Roman numerals. These appear in the Adobe Reader for PC page number box, but not in Android. In some books the Romans numbered pages go to over a hundred in number, so it's a bit bulky to make the calculation before typing what page number to go to. is possible to do this on the Android app? Otherwise, it's my humble request to fix it or add the feature soon.

    Thank you.

  • page numbers are screwed up in the middle of the document

    I am editing a book.  Page numbers are great until I get to page 29 and then he climbs to 93.  I went through and manually numbered each page and he always has.  Help!

    You should always indicate the explicit version (menu Pages: pages) that you use, and the current operating system X output in the case where your signature is obsolete.

  • I'm trouble getting the automatic page numbering and TOC to play nice.

    Hello

    I use Indesign CC 2014.

    I created a book, consisting of several separate Indesign documents. The page number for the majority of the documents resets to 1, even though the settings are correctly defined:

    1st Screenshot at Aug 15 15-56-14.png

    The screenshot above shows the second document in the book. The page numbers in the document are properly leaving page 13, as long as the previous document finished at 12.

    But see how the book file shows the numbers restart from 1. And they do the same thing on the table of contents:

    3rd Screenshot at Aug 15 16-03-15.png

    Here are the numbers .indb option settings:

    2nd Screenshot at Aug 15 15-59-45.png

    I think I have these configured correctly, and yet the book file shows each page 1 reset.

    All the documents have the same exact Document number Options, as I showed earlier.

    I even tried to create a file of book .indb nine, but the problem remains.

    I sent the .idml the version files to a friend who has Indesign cs5, and she said they were numbered everything correctly on the two real pages and in the table of contents - she had absolutely no problem on its version. So there must be another parameter/overide/bug on my system that causes this problem.

    I'd love help on how to fix this please.

    Thank you

    Problem solved!

    I came across this post (Re: automatic numbering does not work in the files of the book of) and the fix was: preferences-> General-> Page numbers and put it in the Section numbering. I had already been advised to have as absolute numbering, but once I changed it, the problem is resolved.

  • How to automate the Page numbering (labeling)

    Is it possible to automate the service to correctly label the page numbers that are made by - advanced, Document processing, number of Pages?

    one reason for this is if I am trying to print 5 to 10 of document pages, but page numbers are labeled as 'Page 16'; on each page.  I would use a java script or something similar for re - label the pages correctly.

    I use 'this script or function in the switch to label all PDFs of perticular customer.

    Thanks in advance,

    The doc.setPageLables JavaScript method that you can use to control it is documented here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.532.html

  • Get the channel search page numbers

    I've found that I can match a Word and get its page number by making a loop through the numPages, numWords using getNthWord, but I need to get a whole sentence like "api reference".

    The goal is that I need to extract some pages that contain certain phrases. My thought was to find, record page numbers, then extract and save.

    V7 + using all the search.query the search plugin (great search pane) and if you hover over every game it will tell you the page it's on, so I know the data is there. But after scouring the api, I can't seem to find something that could help.

    Here is my current idea, but as you can surmise for documents more large it takes a terrible time long:

    var extrList = [];
    searchIt ("indicate by check");
    App.Alert (extrList)

    function searchIt (srchStr) {}
    var ckWord, numWords;
    var tmpArr = srchStr.split("");
    var tmpArr.length = tmpLen;
    for (var i = 0; i < this.numPages; i ++) {}
    numWords = this.getPageNumWords (i);
    for (var j = 0; j < numWords; j ++) {}
    ckWord = this.getPageNthWord (i, j);
    for (var t = 1; t < tmpLen; t ++) {}
    If (j + tmpLen < numWords) {/ / check out of bounds}
    ckWord += "" + this.getPageNthWord (i, j + t)
    }
    }
    If (ckWord == srchStr) {}
    extrList.push (i)
    } / / end of equality so
    } / / end numword for
    } / / end numpage for
    }

    I guess my question is, is there a better approach for the search expression page numbers?

    Thank you.

    Can't answer your question directly, but I can tell you that it is possible

    use getNthWord to match a sentence. Basically, you need to do what you were doing

    so far (a double loop to find the first word in the sentence), then

    continue the corresponding words. If you match all of them, you can a

    positive match. It's complicated, but doable.

    For example, I just did that in this script, which highlights all instances

    of a word or phrase in a file:

    http://try67.blogspot.com/2008/11/Acrobat-highlight-all-instances-of.html

    Edit: Didn't see the code when I posted this... It seems that you got the hang of it.

    I don't know any other way to do this with a script.

  • extraction of the page numbers for the XML export

    Hi all

    I export XML for InDesign CS4 book layout, and I need to have page numbers associated with tags as an attribute.

    Whenever the style "Heading 1" appears in my layout, it will run a script to determine that the title is on the current page and create a new attribute.

    (for example, < heading1 pagenum = 32 > it as a header < / Heading1 >)

    I think that this could be part of the code that would capture the current page.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/451546

    .. .and the 'MakeXMLAttribute' in the Guide from JS Adobe can be fundamental to create attributes for each topic.

    Heavy goods vehicles that can help you with this?

    If you have any ideas, could you send along?  Very much appreciated.

    I'm so sorry, guys. Not one, but two major mistakes! (And for some reason any both 'enable' in CS4, but not in CS).

    Here's a version better:

    markHeaders (app.activeDocument.xmlElements[0]);
    function markHeaders (rootElem)
    {
      var a;
     if (rootElem.markupTag.name == "heading1")
     {
     // if (confirm (rootElem.markupTag.name+"\nContinue?")==0) exit(0);
     // if (confirm (rootElem.markupTag.name+"\n"+rootElem.lines[0].contents+"\nContinue?")==0) exit(0);
      try {
       rootElem.xmlAttributes.add ("pagenum", rootElem.characters[0].parentTextFrames[0].parent.name);
      } catch (_) { alert("wot? "+rootElem.lines[0].contents+"\n"+rootElem.characters[0].parentTextFrames[0].parent.name); exit(0);}
     }
     for (a=0; a

    First thing I did was disable the try... catch that handles errors, so I could see what went wrong. It was kinda a 'Oh' - I used parentTextFrame, rather than parentTextFrames [0] (error of version control and the boy, I should have watched out for these!).

    The second was more subtle: the script stopped after processing 2 headers, "Atrribute already exists." That has had a bit of debug step by step, until I noticed that I used the variable 'a' a loop... inside a function called... so the variable gets reset and starts again at 0... all... time... his... name... Calling themselves functions are called 'recursion', and now I know where he got that name (I've cursed and re-cursed until I finally got to work).

    Good news, it is this script still is blistering fast - now it works finally.

  • Where are my Pages, numbers, and the apps to iMovie?

    I had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall OS Sierra due to computer problems. When I did my apps in Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and iMovie were missing. How can I get back them?

    Log in to the Mac App Store with Apple ID with which they are associated, click the purchases tab and redownload them.

    If they were deleted without being associated with an Apple ID, click here , or contact Apple.

    If they are associated with another Apple ID, you can contact Apple as above, but it can be said to buy.

  • I am trying to print PDFS from Safari, but can not see the page numbers

    I just opened a document PDF 700 + pages in Safari and need to print the odd pages and there, but I can't see the page numbers displayed when I scroll the document. When I view the same document on an iPad, the page numbers change when I scroll but on my iMac (with the help of Safari 10) they appear not at all - and 700 + pages is a lot to go wrong! The clues how I can spend on 'display the page number?

    The default Apple PDF Internet plug-in used by Safari does not display the page numbers (except if they are in the footer of the PDF document in question), and there is no setting in Safari preferences to turn on this feature. Your best bet is to download the PDF file, then open it in preview or Acrobat Reader, where the thumbnails will be the correlation to page numbers. Then you can select several arbitrary thumbnails using the control button to print those selected pages. In the Pages section of the print Panel, you select "Selected Pages in the sidebar".

    The PDF Internet plug-in installed by Adobe Acrobat Reader or Pro displays the page current and total page in its turnaround Panel. If there are page numbers in the footer of the PDF file accessed, they are not deleted. You must enable Internet Adobe plug-in to Safari preferences: Security Panel.

  • How can I find the original printed page numbers in iBooks?

    I often need a paper as I don't know the original page number.   When we teach or a group, often refer to page numbers, and people with iBooks will be lost.

    iBooks would better adoption if iBooks would allow just anyone to perform a search on a page number and the original paragraph/sentence, or allow someone to select text and display the original page and the paragraph/sentence.

  • How to make the page numbers see the v.5.6.2 Pages automatically through the document?

    MacOs 10.11.4, v5.6.2 Pages.

    How can I make Pages automatically page numbers?  I want to be able to scroll through a multipage created from a blank template document & print specific pages.  Have sought and found answers on paging, but no address my question.  JV

    Pages v5.6.2 dislike doing anything automatically. Page numbers are shown to you when you scroll through a document:

    1. Associated with each thumbnail in this display mode
    2. By inserting the page number in the header or the footer

    That's all for v5.6.2 Pages. Whenever you want to print a specific page, you will need to check the Pages: of the _____ to the _____ in the OS X Print Panel and specify the same value for each entry field to print the page in question. There is no automatic printing of selected pages in the selection of this Panel paper handling.

    Pages ' 09 v4.3 would show the current page number on a lower status bar, with or without page numbers inserted in the header of document/footers. This view could be clicked, and it would change to a text entry where we could fix the jump to page number.

  • Pages how to used the Roman numerals of the page numbers?

    Hello, I have a MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, end 2012) Version OS X El Capitan 10.11.3. I am a PhD student and my Advisor requires that I use Roman numerals to number my pages, instead of regular numbers. However when I click on the lower right to insert numbers, I am not given the choice of Roman numerals. I'd appreciate if someone could give me instructions on how to do it. Thank you.

    It is always useful to mention both your current OS X version and the specific version of Pages in use.

    Assuming that you have little flavor of Pages v5, once you have inserted your page number you described, then click Document in the toolbar, and then select the tab of the Section. Among the formats in the selector Page numbering is Roman numerals.
