The differences in code main PXI and SCXI

The similarity is code written for a target SCXI and PXI? Is it reasonable to say that if you are comfortable PXI targeting devices, that knowledge is transferable to SCXI. We are planning to move to this platform and I was wondering that maybe the inpact on my code.

Secondly, PXI is newer than the SCXI? It seems to me that you can do most of the things SCXI on a PXI system. I must be wrong about this, otherwise why would there be combined chassis?

much thanks in advance

The big difference is that the channel names naming conventions are different because SCXI adds another level of multiplexing for your i/o devices.

Yes PXI is newer than the SCXI.

PXI is a hardened verson of the PCI which the standard bus, you will find in PC towers. With the right interface, you can do DMA and no matter what else supported by the PCI bus.

SCXI is a bus structure that allows the addressing of points of e/s and their routing to an A/D converter. For centuries, this A/D converter has been on a devices PCI or PXI (which also has the logic of selection SCXI contrlled) but recently the A/D converter and the control logic were placed a device USB PCI or PXI are not required in all cases SCXI longer.

Just trying to help,
