The Essbase users question

Hi guru,.

We have created about 1800 users for the current project. But the question is that if synchronize us all users of shared services, Essbase maybe crashes.

they belong to the native.

So please let me know how to handle this problem?

Someone at - he seen this behavior before or have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance...

How did you create these users?

    Hi all

Where can I change the user Essbase calc planning HBRs in 9.3.1?

When users run HBRs in planning, the same user Essbase is always used. I thought that planning used the user specified in the data source configuration, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

    Thank you
    SEB

    Hi Seb,

When a user runs a business rule in planning this specific user will contact HBR and the user essbase defined in the application data source will communicate with essbase.
It should also propose that in hbrlaunch.log the user HBR and essbase user.

Just to be sure I did a quick test and changed the essbase user in the data source, restarted the planning. logged on as a user and ran a business rule, the newspaper showed the essbase user, that I've changed in the data source.

  • Essbase users have write access to the folder F:\Hyperion

    Guys,

I have a question concerning access to the F:\Hyperion folder. Unalterable of Essbase users need to have write/modify access to the F:\Hyperion\AnalyticServices folder.
I know that users who is using the Regional service Console should have change access to folder F:\Hyperion where EAS Console is installed. I wonder because when we allow
connection request for users, the .qlg files will be created in the folder of the database with the information of the users.

Other than AnalyticServices(if needed) or AnalyticAdminServices, are there other issues that we need to provide some access to normal users (HFR)?

    Thanks in advance,
    HYPuser

Normal users need not access to this folder. Only administrators may need to access to the file for the purpose of loading data from the server files.

  • Configuration of the Essbase access via the Web browser user

    Hello world

I have installed and configured the shared services, Admin Server, Essbase, now I need allow two user (User1 and User2) to access

Essbase server via web browser. I request measures that I can achieve my requirement.

If I tried several ways, but always struggeled with good configuration only i always able to connect with a user

    (admin).

    Concerning
    Kumar N

Access EAS is weird (a large part of the functionality of the EAS is weird).

While there is no request for Regional service to be set to, the username in question must be created in the Shared Services to connect to EA.

    So:
    (1) create the user name in the Shared Services
    (2) if Essbase is outsourced, set the user name on the server and the app/db in question (not strictly necessary from a point of view EAS, but you're here, so why not?)
    (3) launch EAS console, connect to Services of Administration and you are out of the race

If you do not outsource Essbase security (why? "You want to maintain a username twice?) you need not do the step #2.

  • Cannot create or delete applications Essbase with the Admin user.

    Hello

I'm running Essbase in version 11.1.2.3.505. For some reason, I can't create or delete applications in Essbase using the native admin account. I suspect it may be due to the fact that I wore recently users another environment via LCM HSS & that the roles were somewhat detached/altered in the HSS database. I checked that the commissioning for the admin user has full administrator for the Cluster Essbase HSS rights. The ID works very well elsewhere in the suite of the EMP, workspace, planning, etc. But the option to create or delete applications are greyed out. I have a workaround, where I can use a user newly created/configured to handle these tasks. I'm not sure how LCM would allow the superposition of the admin account properties in the HSS schema.

FYI - check the table CSS_USERS, the creation date is the date of construction original (as well as all other indigenous users) - so I don't think it's relevant. I guess the problem would lie in CSS_PROVISIONING_INFO, CSS_ROLES, or a similar place. After opening a SR with Oracle, they recommended that I restore the entire schema I quickly rejected. He is not a danger, because I use the workaround. But it would be nice to have an overview of the pros on what is happening / what has happened.

    Thank you

    Mike

Wow, that's weird. What do you see on the side of Essbase (rather than look at Shared Services) If you "appear privilege user xxxx;" in MaxL?

  • Won't COMPLETE event triggers of level FEIELD, even if the user clicks ABOUT on the field in question?

    Hello

Pls can someone answer my question pls its here is the link

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/4549663

    Q just quick who:

Won't COMPLETE event triggers of level FEIELD, even if the user clicks ABOUT on the field in question?

    Thank you

    Hello

Here is an explanation of the output events of the specification XFA (page 391).

    get in, get out

Enter the event fires when the field gets keyboard focus, that it was caused by a user action

(in the field of the tab or by clicking with the mouse) or by a script by setting programmatically the

Update. It is also raised when a new selection is made from a list of choices, but this behavior can be prevented.

    See below.

The exit event is triggered when the field loses keyboard focus. It has also triggered whenever there is a new selection

in a list of choices (followed by an input event), but this behavior can be inhitibited.

    I hope this helps.

  • Glitch/Question of the root user

All other encountered an error of password for the root user that uses a user admin instead account?

Recently, I had to reinstall 10.11 on an iMac and went to create a startup disk. When I run sudo it asked for the root password (which is enabled) and kept saying "sorry, try again." I was sure I knew the password, but didn't so I reset the password of the root user. After the Reset Terminal still does not accept. I decided to user, my admin password and it worked.

This is how it is supposed to behave or am I missing something? (Err is human but to REALLY screw up, run sudo)

My Root user and the admin have the same password.

  • Question about deleting of the LDAP user and integration

In the Document "Management Console Help", he States:

"You can't invite accounts of users that are mastered in a user directory LDAP; These accounts are created automatically when you synchronize the LDAP directory. »

This means that after you configure an LDAP domain, the users specified by the filter should be automatically attracted to OnTrack? I don't see the ldap users during execution of an empty search for the administration console. At this point, I can also connect to the OnTrack using a valid LDAP user. I was trying to see if OnTrack worked similar to the Complutense University of MADRID, where the OnTrack user account would create once the user logs in the application.

What I can do, is go to "Create a user" and enter a valid ldap user's email address. then I see this user in the full search. This user can also connect successfully.

I wanted to know what was the expected behavior: it should be a 'register' required ldap users in ontrack before auth in the app? Is there a synchronization process that must be executed to pull in the ldap users?

Also, is it current best practices of removing users? I see in the administration console there is a note that says: "Note: removing users is not supported."

As always, thanks for the info!

  • FDM 11.1.2.1 & for the configuration of the Essbase on Windows 64-bit adapter

    Hi all
I had a few doubts with the configuration of the adapter Essbase for FDM ver.11.1.2.1 on X 64 Windows environment:

    (1) with version 11.1.2.1, Essbase adapter upsES11GXH for FDM needs more user and Arborpath system variables. Is this correct? This is clearly mentioned in the es_g4_h_target_adapter_readme of the document of the essbase adapter available on Oracle's Web site. It asks you to delete the Arborpath if you upgrade from version 11.1.2.0 to 11.1.2.1. If you are doing a new installation the document does not claim anywhere to set the Arborpath environment variable. Version 11.1.2 necessary both the Essbasepath and the Arborpath variable must be set to < EPM_HOME > \products\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32. 11.1.2.1 version the Essbasepath must be \common\EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0 < EPM_ORACLE_HOME >

    (2) I read some - where in the forum for FDM work on a x 64 windows the essmsh.exe environment should start and appear in the Manager of tasks such as essmsh.exe * 32. I tried booting from the < EPM_ORACLE_HOME > \common\EssbaseRTC folder and it gave me an error "failed to initialize MaxL. If I start from the \products\\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32 < EPM_ORACLE_HOME > MaxL shell it seems to work correctly. I am able to start the MaxL shell and I am also able to see essmsh.exe * 32 in my task manager process. What is the logic behind this?

    (3) in the case of question 2, if you open the startMaxL.cmd file in a text editor, you see a line that says "SET ARBORPATH = % ESSBASEPATH %". Then Arborpath or not not to start maxL shell and what is the relevance of this with FDM?

    (3) is the \products\\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32 irrelevant in 11.1.2.1 version as the ESSBASEPATH should be set to < EPM_ORACLE_HOME > < EPM_ORACLE_HOME > (folder or path) \common\EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0. The esbapin.dll is located in the bin folder of this path.

    (1) with version 11.1.2.1, Essbase adapter upsES11GXH for FDM needs more user and Arborpath system variables. Is this correct?

YES, that's correct. You don't need of the system ARBROPATH or early variable user with 11.1.2.1

Version 11.1.2 necessary both the Essbasepath and the Arborpath variable must be set to \products\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32. 11.1.2.1 version the Essbasepath must be \common\EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0

REASON, 11.1.2.1 you only need the ESSBASEPATH variable that will point to the directory EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0 as stated in the Readme adapter guide.

    (2) I read some - where in the forum for FDM work on a x 64 windows the essmsh.exe environment should start and appear in the Manager of tasks such as essmsh.exe * 32. I tried booting from the \common\EssbaseRTC folder and it gave me an error "failed to initialize MaxL. If I go to the \products\\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32 MaxL shell, it seems to work correctly. I am able to start the MaxL shell and I am also able to see essmsh.exe * 32 in my task manager process. What is the logic behind this?

It's something that you can use to test if the environment variables are configured correctly. IF you follow the adapter Essbase readme explicitly regarding changes in variable environment, the integration works as expected.

    (3) in the case of question 2, if you open the startMaxL.cmd file in a text editor, you see a line that says "SET ARBORPATH = % ESSBASEPATH %". Then Arborpath or not not to start maxL shell and what is the relevance of this with FDM?

    See the answer to #2

    (3) the \products\\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32 (folder or path) is not relevant in the 11.1.2.1 version as the ESSBASEPATH should be set to \common\EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0. The esbapin.dll is located in the bin folder of this path.

Yes, this path must be defined in the PATH variable. It is documented in the readme adapter guide.

    Hello

Yes, you can use maxl to create filters and call the maxl from a batch file script.
To create filters with maxl read here:-http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/esb_techref/maxl_crefilt.htm

Once you have created your maxl script you can easily call it for example essmsh createfilter.mxl

  • How to connect to the Essbase Server?

This question may seem a little on the vague side - so apologies for that.

From a point of view version 7 - the Essbase server interacts with the database server (where you load the data into Essbase of) through the defined system DSN & the TNS. But how a typical user connects to the Essbase server when using excel add to recover data?

To expand a bit on this - in our environment, when a user attempts to recover data using excel add in - a box "Essbase system Login" initially appears, where the user enter the name of the essbase server used, with their own username and password. But to enter the name of the server - how excel add in physically know where to go to get data? Is there something else on the client computer where the server details are stored (ie the ip address) - a sort of equivalent DSN?

    Thanks in advance

  • iMac Mavericks - delete the Admin user & increase disk space

Mac HD 160,11 GB free on 499.25

    Hello

My wife gave me his iMac and she is listed as a user Admin I created my own user. I want to create more disk space by removing his admin account.

    Apple gives these instructions:

OS X Mavericks: remove a user

If you are an administrator, you can remove users that you would no longer have access to your Mac.

When you delete a user, you can save the home folder of the user, which contains the files and the settings of the user, or delete the folder.

Open the preferences users and groups, and then click the lock icon to unlock it. If required, type your password, and then click on unlock.

Select the user you want to remove, and then click Remove under the list of users.

    Do one of the following:

To save the home folder of the user as a disc image, select "Save the home folder in a disk image." The disk image is saved in/Users/deleted users.

In order to leave such base file, select "do not change the folder." The folder remains in / Users /.

To delete the folder of your computer, select "Remove the folder." If you want to keep the programs that read the raw data to recover all files, select "delete the folder safely."

Click on the user to remove.

If you do not remove a personal folder user, you can restore the user and the content of the home folder.

My questions, that they do not explain the instructions.

    1. can I delete his account if I'm not the Admin? I can access the admin account.

    2. can I designate me as the new admin, and then delete his account?

    3. I have, indeed, will create more disk space by removing account here?

    4. If I register his record as a disk image, which will open disk space without delete me the entire account?

A technician Apple told me that I can not increase the memory of 8 GB to 16 GB on my vision.

    5. can't increase memory - is this true?

My computer works as fast as I want and I'm trying to reduce the load on the system.

    6. I go about it the right way or is there something more I can do?

    Thank you

Hi Tony, I asked your serial number erased. You never want to post in a public forum.

To answer your question, no, you can not delete the account if you are not admin. You try to delete the account to become the sole Director of the computer? If so, everything will always be linked to his Apple ID and will require a password to authenticate anything. If this is the case, you must wipe the drive and reinstall the OS using internet recovery.

It is not an option for the old user interface on the new version, but you can get older versions here:
