the external context

Hi all

Just updated my Design immediately in CS4, which included Dreamweaver. I haven't used Dreamweaver since its beginnings, and it is certainly much improved! Am love him a lot now that I work with her.

My question... I'm building a fixed/centered layout (@ 970 x), and everything is good (except in IE 6-7, but that's another debate!), but one thing miss me is the creation of what I call the "external environment". By this, I mean the repeating background that surrounds the main content page or a container. I use the attribute 'background' in CSS, but it only works on the main divs, not outside them. I have a div 'all' and then various divs below.

There are many examples of this kind of background that develops with the display window, a being of these forum pages very (it's the white gray abstract drawing around the main box floating on the left). Another example is:
http://www.popcap.com
(this is the illustration of sky blue-green that surrounds the fixed hand, container Center.

What Miss me? Or is - this bottom * part * of the container principal (and if so, what are its dimensions so that it will extend to all viewers and browsers)?

Thank you very much for your comments on something which is probably pretty basic, but I seem to be missing somehow.

Michel

PS is it just me, or is this forum VERY slow to load each new page? for example, the preview of the message took more than 2 minutes to load!

The CSS rule, I sent in a previous post can be added to the external style
sheet. I put it at the beginning of the worksheet. It is called when he sees
the in your HTML body tag. Make sure that the reference to the external style
sheet in the HTML document is correct.

{body
background-image: url (images/background.jpg;
background-repeat: repeat-x;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
}

  • ADFC-00024: no external context could be found.

    Hello to all and everyone,

    I have a problem in which one of our customers recently met and I'm trying to find and understand the cause.

    Here is the error that the client has obtained when browsing through our application: "a connection to the server has failed (status = 500) ''."

    So I have moved the AM pooling in order to test the entire application (on WLS server) but could not reproduce the error.

    But somehow, when I click on any LOV (Af:inputListOfValues) browser on the page to open and search and selection, I got the following error: "ADFC-00024: No. external context could be found" in my JDev Log messages.

    In fact, I got whenever I hit search and I click OK to close the pop-up window (error comes in pair). But the application does not crash even though sometimes I was right and could close the pop-up window by pressing the OK button, the only way to close it then was to use the X button (top right of the popup).

    In my view, as two errors that need to be connected. I found people I have both online and said they have changed the maximum Pool size of 1 to 4096 AMShared and it worked. But I don't think that's my answer.

    ADFC-00024 is a controller of the ADF error message.

    And here's something you can deal with the claim.
    I have an af:inputText on the page (id: scanBarcode) and every time the user or triggered anything on the page, the slider should be set to the scanBarcorde text field.

    To achieve this, I use an extra controller to the page class.
    This controller class implements RegionController and overrides the following method

    public boolean refreshRegion (RegionContext regionContext)

    I use JDevelopper 11.1.1.6.0.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Timo,

    Your answer was wise and honest and I am pleased to tell you that the problem is solved.

    The problem wasn't the LOV but my regionController class.
    So, sometimes (like when I perform a search through the popup Lov) the external environment is not found, and this is the error message I have spoken.
    And the external environment is not found because the context faces himself was not.
    So what? I added an extra line to my refreshRegion (RegionContext regionContext) public boolean works my codes only when the facesContext is not null.

    FacesContext facesCtx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance ();

    If (facesCtx! = null) {}
    .. .lines codes

    }

    This solved my problem (so far).
    So, thank you very much for your good and wise advice.

    Happy Tuesday.

  • When I deleted a picture of my MacBook, why it also remove the external hard drive?

    So I tried to help my wife to free up space on his MacBook Pro by putting all of his photos on an external hard drive. After iPhoto slide the hard disk and wait 40 minutes so that he could transfer, I wanted to make sure it worked. I ejected the disk and then plugged in. Of course, all iphotos were still there. Just to be sure, I deleted one file in the folder on the computer's iphoto. I went to my shock and horror, the external hard drive, that it has been deleted it too! How is that possible? I've been scouring the Internet trying to retrieve this file with no luck. It was not in the trash. There is a tab "recently deleted". Time machine was not turned on. iCloud shows nothing. I can't download any software, because the computer is completely filled. How is it possible that by deleting this folder on the computer he did also leave the hard drive? AND it has not been saved in the trash? I have used PC, and whenever I need something in return, he was ALWAYS in the trash. And if I deleted something on the computer with an external hard drive connected, it would NEVER be removed from the external hard drive at the same time. I'm so frustrated and feeling SO bad that I deleted a folder with important pictures of our kids. Is that what I can do to recover the pictures? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    You used Time Machine at all? I see you say it was not on, but it never on and is at - it a backup Time Machine on the Macbook Pro?

  • Starts the Powerbook g3 pismo of the external drive?

    Hello, all,.

    I want to start my Powerbook G3 (Pismo) running OS 9.2.2 since the restore in one disc external hard drive. (PB knows he has a drive hard internal , but the drive does not read discs in there.) The computer goes up the disc - its own restore disk - when it comes starts with Macintosh HD as a player start, but when I try to use the restore disc as commissioning, starts to drive to go up, but the door opens. Even if I hold the door closed, the computer starts low to halfway and glued in place: first, the question mark flashing, then commissioning with Macintosh HD but then freeze it.

    This happens even if I chose as the startup disk restore disk in the startup configuration panel. This means that I can't even begin to use disk utility to clean the hard drive of the computer. I did that with two other computers (reset several times), but those who had internal functioning disks. Is it possible that I can do this computer using the external drive as the boot? I read that the G3 Pismo that allows. I know I can get someone to take out the hard disk and smash, but I expect much prefer to destroy it myself. And I can understand how to remove the hard drive, but it seems to imply a boatload of maneuvers and some tools that I have, at the present time. I would not completely destroy the computer. It would be good for recyclers to be able to retrieve some parts, though they might be useful to someone.

    It is possible that I can't boot from the restore disc in the external drive, but maybe there's something that I have not yet tried. It seems crazy that the external hard drive with the restore disc appears on the desktop with a normal restart, and I can choose as boot drive but can't seem to complete commissioning. If anyone has any ideas on this subject, I would appreciate it a lot.

    Thank you.

    Jenny

    Are you trying to boot the PowerBook to an external optical drive that is connected to a USB port or your external drive connectivity FireWire?  If it is USB, that is the problem.  The reading of an optical drive connected by USB is one thing, but start since it is a different matter.  Unfortunately, your Pismo is not capable of this.

  • Of failure, white screen MacBook Pro HARD drive try to boot from the external HARD drive

    Hello

    I have a 2008 Macbook Pro which is having some problems, I was able to fix them, but eventually the hard drive failed. I know that because at startup until it would have a white screen Uni (no logo) and you can hear a clicking on in the lower left corner. I thought initially it was a memory problem, but after opening and verification of memory, it's clearly the hard drive.

    I solved this problem temporarily (until I can replace the HARD disk) by installing El captain on an external HARD disc and start from that. Here's the twist, I couldn't he can begin to El captain, I tried CMD + R, CMD + OPT + R, CMD + OPT + R + P and now shift. Everything that's happened would be that clicks would cease to release the keys.

    I left the macbook on while I'm at work, when I got home it was on the screen to connect the external HARD drive.

    I accidentally closed the macbook yesterday and again once when I tried to log on, I could not and I left it on a white screen while I was sleeping. There is a possibility that he may have launched from the HARD drive when I get home, but if not, is there something that escapes me to force do this?

    See you soon

    Usually start up to a blank screen without the Apple Logo, may report one of the following:

    • Hardware failure
    • Boot drive is not recognized as valid and updated updated
    • OS X essential software is missing, hurt moved or renamed or corrupt
    • A firmware update is necessary

    No matter who, in order to boot from an external drive "bootable", you would normally hold down the Option key until you get a screen that offers a number of devices to try to boot from.

    Alternatively, you can try holding down the C key to try to boot from the external drive.

    If none of these startup options work, then the bootable disc or the USB port on your MacBook Pro can be the question.

    Since you have a Mac pre-2013, if you hold down the D key while booting, the built-in Apple Hardware Test should start up.  This can help to identify hardware problems.

  • MacBook Pro retina 15 inch heats up when it is connected to the external monitor

    Hello

    My problem: When I connect my monitor (LG IPS277L) temperature of my Macbook Pro starts to heat upward. This problem often occurs when I use Facetime.

    I found it really strange because I should have a pretty good Macbook Pro for this.

    MacBook Pro (15 inch, retina, medio 2015)

    Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7

    Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    Graphics card: Iris Pro 1536 MB Intel / AMD Radeon R9 M370X

    El Captain 10.11.6 OSX

    I hope that someone recognizes this problem and wants to share their solution.

    When you connect to an external monitor, you use the AMD Chip for graphics (without the external screen, most of the software needs only the graphics engine Intel).  It attracts more power and therefore heats up.  All MacBook Pro for this to some extent.  This should be considered normal.  If the computer is actually overheating, it will stop.

  • Half the Office disappears when you unplug the external monitor

    I have a MacBook (early 2011) with a single office shared between two monitors - with one hand on the internal screen and the other half on a Dell 23 inch. The Dell is my first when I use both at the same time. Until a few months ago, when I unplugged the external monitor, all windows automatically appears in the monitor to the laptop, including the menu bar and dock.

    After an operating system upgraded a few dos systems (I'm on version of El Capitan.6), when I unplug the screen seems not to register - in other words, the left side of my office, including the menu bar and the dock, and all the apps that were there just to disappear. So my laptop seems to think that the other view is always connected and direct, unless I restart with the detached monitor. (I unchecked 'Displays have separated spaces') in Mission Control.

    Is that what I can do to force the Office to redesign the internal screen? (Note that the display is a Dell S2330MX, which seem not to support any Mac OS - so who could answer the question here.) Thank you

    I've known who issues from time to time, try to close and reopen the lid, which needs to redraw your office.

    file .avi and .mov on iMac changed in .m4v when they are copied to the external hard drive. I will be able to open these files on other devices like a Windows PC?

    FWIW, do not change the extensions of file simply by copying the files to an external drive.

  • Open the file in the external editor

    I put the Publisher external (maximum 6) in the preferences window, but I can't seem to find how to open the file in the external editor. Apple says that go to:

    • Choose Options > Audio > 'Open in [external sample editor]' (or use the corresponding key command).

    What 's' Options ' enigmatic?

    I thought about it. Apple should update their documentation.

  • How to use the book of fonts with fonts that are installed on the external hard drive

    I have all my fonts to a folder on an external hard drive. How can I use font book to manage these fonts? I want to keep on the external hard drive, not book fonts move them to my main hard drive. For some reason, font book does not know where are the fonts and as soon as I show, he sets in motion all the fonts on my hard drive in a folder/library/fonts. NOT what I want! I don't want thousands of fonts clutter up my main hard drive. I just can't understand how the font book. Only option, I can see, it is 'Install' and it is then the copy begins. I read and tests all day and I just can't understand this. Thanks for your suggestions.

    Font book handles only the fonts that are present in one of the folders of fonts on the startup disk. It can disable these fonts, but it won't work as a custodian of the fonts installed also. I would have suggested using a symbolic link to the folder fonts on the external drive to ~/Library/Fonts, but apparently that no longer works: allow to use symlinks in ~/Library/Fonts

  • Interruption of the external connection USB - C display after sleep

    I connect my MacBook (retina, 12 inches, beginning 2016) directly via a USB - C cable for an external display Lenovo X 1. The MacBook recognizes the display when I plug in the cable. I then close the MacBook and work exclusively in the external display. However, after that the MacBook wakes from sleep, he does reconnect not to display. This means that whenever the computer goes to sleep I have to disconnect and freshly plug cable USB - C to connect to the screen. Anyone know what to do the display remains connected?

    Hello forestforger,

    Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know just how you feel. I have a few different external monitors, that I use with my MacBook - I depend on everything working properly!

    One way to solve this problem is by resetting the management system (SCM) controller on your MacBook. MSC helps to regulate the functions of some of the other material on your Mac. This article will guide you through how to reset: reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac.

    Let us know if this works, or if you experience other problems, the entire community is here to help.
