the field format

Hello

I have a field and I put the format < NNN, NNN, NNN.00 > property, the field type is the number, the column width is 38 (the data type for this field in the database is the number (13: 2))

Somehow the test print obtained * for this field.

Can you please help?

Thank you!

Hello

Somehow the test print obtained * for this field.

The available width for the field is not enough to stay the integer so * is displayed.
You just need to increase the width of the field to get the number right in it.

I hope this helps.

Best regards

Arif Khadas

  • Text field: format of the digital None change category

    Hi all

    I have a loop to set all the fields read-only.

    fFc var = this.numFields;
    var FieldName = "
    for (var s = 0; s < fFc; s + +) {}
    FieldName = this.getNthFieldName (s)
    Var AFN = this.getField (FieldName);
    If (!.) (FieldName is "FNIS_Print")) {/ / Do not set the button "print" read only}
    fFn.readonly = true;
    }
    }

    Our provider PDF sets category format of some numeric field (2 decimal separator). The merged data in the field has already been formatted, so I would change the fields format category of digital to none with the help of the loop above.

    Can it do? If so, can you give us some examples?

    Thank you

    Doug

    Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I've searched high and low to answer this very question.  Finally, on my own tests, I discovered an interesting solution that solves the problem mentioned here.

    Property cannot be set simply the 'Format' to an empty string, you must also set the property to "Strike" to an empty string.  This will actually change the format of the field 'None' behaviour both within the Format of the field that is tab

    var f = this.getField ('text_field')

    f.setAction('Format','')
    f.setAction('Keystroke','')

  • Do not display 0.0% as a response to the field calculated

    My field is formatted to % and one decimal place and it show 0.0%.  I would have preferred that it be blank until the two fields are filled, that produce the answer.  I tried to do that with the following calculation and it works until I changed the format of percentage.

    var v1 = + getField("Tons_UsedRow1").value;

    var v2 = + getField("Tons_RequiredRow1").value;

    If (v1! == 0 & & v2! == 0) {}

    var result =(v1 / v2);

    Event.Value = result;

    } else {event.value = ";}}

    Only a digital format of field with currency symbol or percentage symbol and view a null value.

    You use the built-in formatting to Acrobat JS functions to set the field size according to need.

    I would start by the field formatted to 'None '.

    The user you custom calculation script.

    Add custom validation script:

    nDec var = 1; set the number of decimal places; number & percent;

    var sepStyle = 0; style of thousands separator; number & percent;

    var negStyle = 0; negative style; number only;

    var currStyle =""; always null; number only;

    var strCurrency = ""; currency symbol; number only;

    var bCurrencyPrepend = false; prefix of currency; number only;

    var bPercentPrepend = false; percentage of prefix; percent only;

    If (event.value == 0 | event.value == "") {}

    Event.Value = "";

    AFNumber_Format (nDec, sepStyle, negStyle, currStyle, strCurrency, bCurrencyPrepend);

    } else {}

    AFPercent_Format (nDec, sepStyle, bPercentPrepend);

  • Change the number of decimal places according to the value of the field

    Hello world

    I'm doing a form using Adobe Acrobat.

    I want a field that usually has only 2 decimal places, to have 4 decimal positions ONLY when necessary.

    Example: If the value of the field is 3.53 that's fine, but if the value is 3,5346 I want to show him this.

    I played around field properties and I realized that I need to use a custom format script. I don't know where to start, however. Can you point me in the right direction?

    Thank you in advance.

    I just threw together quickly and did not test, take is as a general guide. It is intended to be placed in a JavaScript to the document level and called from custom Format script of the field. You can not put it simply everything as the script to Format because of the way that Acrobat behaves when you do.

    The point of the script is to calculate the number to use as the first parameter to the AFNumberFormant function, which is that Acrobat uses when configuring a digital format. I couldn't think of a clever name for the function, so I leave it to you:

    function fmt1() {

        // Set the minimum number of digits to the right of the decimal
        var min = 2;

        // Get the field value, as a string
        var val = event.value;

        // Round to the nearest 10-thousand of a cent
        var rn = util.printf("%.4f", val);

        // Replace any trailing zeroes with nothing
        rn = rn.replace(/[0]+$/, "");

        // Get the number of characters after the decimal
        var num = rn.split(".")[1].length;

        // Set to the minimum if appropriate
        if (num < 2) num = 2;

        // Use built-in formatting function
        AFNumber_Format(num, 2, 0, 0, "\u20ac", true);

    }

    Call it like that in the case of the field Format:

    fmt1();

    If this isn't a calculated field, but the one who interacts with a user, you'll want to add a function with the swing, something like:

    function keystroke1() {

        AFNumber_Keystroke(2, 2, 0, 0, "\u20ac", true);

    }

    05:45 ICON George formula - London

    text = ICON

    text = text + date

    text = text + client_name

    text = text + city

    x and the values of width and height ICO.

    remainingColumnWidth is the full width to display information (ICON + remainingColumnWidth = screen width)

    If you suggestions?

    Please, I beg you.

    Thank you

    Jorge Luis

    the only thing you need to do is to calculate the coordinate x of your text that is needed to view it. You can truncate the text if you want long, or adjust the fontsize.
    use graphics.drawText with the x corrdinates corresponding (for each component)

  • Best way to apply the Format mask for the fields in a Table of the ADF

    Hi all

    12.1.3 JDev

    I would like to introduce the price data, quantity etc. fields of the ADF Table of the user interface in a specific format.

    These formats need to be dynamic, because they change according to the locale selected and sometimes they differ in the same locale.

    I tried approach converter custom but not satisfied because it is called several times when it is used in a table of the ADF and when asked that told me that this is the behavior.

    Custom converter of an attribute in a table called several times

    So, please suggest a better way to apply the format mask (which has min & max fractions, grouping, rounding) to the fields in the Table of the ADF.

    Please let me know if you need more information.

    Thank you

    B S Bilodeau.

    The second question, which I've mentioned here is the converter is called several times for each click on the table.

    This isn't a problem, this is the expected behavior (and you can't avoid it).

  • Question of feasibility: extract information from the fields to the PDF format

    I explore options to collect answers to a PDF form.  Fields of entries by the user are created, the user saves the form in PDF format and sends the return form.  The data entered by the user entered in the fields can be retrieved electronically?  I hate the very idea of renewing the data entered by the user to get it in electronic format.  For now, the question is ' is it possible - extract the entries by the user of the data in an electronic format?  If possible, then I can begin to explore the format, etc.

    It is worth noting since you stevat from the outset that it may be problematic to rely on email. Much better to send the form just like an HTML form. This needs a professional web programmer to provide web scripts, however. Also PDF forms do not work on some browsers and phones.

    It is easy to assume that the big trick is to design the form. But it's just the 10% above the water. Personally I wouldn't consider PDF forms more due to browser issues. Same Adobe move to a dynamic conversion to HTML forms then why don't no start with a? There is full form service providers that provide tools to collect and analyze. For example forms of Google - create and analyze surveys, free.

    You can use an online converter to convert it to a normal value, for example: online - time conversion Conversion Unix

  • How to define the format of a field drop-down list text align at the top of the field instead of the Center?

    I have a form with the fields of data entry simple Acrobat 11. I have, for the first time inserted drop-down lists and most of them is single-line fields. However, there are a few examples where my field must be larger to mask unwanted background. (The field will define the colur to white background are data entry, but I did not write the script for this.) When a selection is made, it appears centered in the field and I need to be aligned to the top.

    I guess I can put a script on the Format tab, in the custom format script, but I don't know enough about Javascript to run on the syntax. I guess it would be a simple line or two of code. Can anyone help?

    You have no control over this. They are always vertically centered. You can use a separate field in the drop down menu, however, and control its background. I suggest to use a read-only button.

  • See the value of zero instead of "the value entered does not match the format of the field [].

    I use the simplified notation filed to perform subtraction on a budget form.

    They all have an excellent work and have no problem display a value of zero when it's a simple subtraction (value1-value2).

    However, on my last field I want to take the total income and subtract what I spent (approximately 40 fields) and get a balance zero.

    When I try to do it I get this warning "the value entered does not match the format of the field [].

    The calculation works fine and displays the correct value for all the foregoing ".» 01 "and displays negative numbers. 01 "and underneath as well (if I go on the budget), she just may not show a zero, which is my goal for this equal to zero each month.

    I tried to watch if the forms and have not found an answer that works even for my situation.

    Happy to post the form here, just do not know how to do it.

    Thanks in advance,

    The custom calculation script may be something like the following:

  • The value entered does not match the format of the field

    I get this error and cannot figure out how to not have pop up, when you use the form.  The calculation and the percentage still works, but you have to click on the box a few times to make them disappear. I'm working on a PDF form, using a drop-down list box, but also calculations with text fields.  It looks like the discount text box that has the selected format category selected as a percentage, is the only time when the form is in error.  If I need this text field to display the number as a percentage.  This text box is also calculated the percentage of discount of a unit cost.  Is there a way to prevent this?

    I used exactly the same formula you provided... Unless you want to say that it is:

    1. (Uprice / DeptEmail)

    In this case simply adjust the last line in the code are:

    else event.value = (1 - (v1 / v2));

    How to edit pdf file (in indesign) without having to re-export then and redo all the fields of the form and formatting?

    Edit PDF files in InDesign is not a good idea. If the file was originally exported ID, then change the original and then create a new PDF file.

    Open an old, and then use the command replace Pages to insert the new pages on the 'old'. The fields that you have already created will remain in place when you do this.

    Change to:

    I created a pdf form to a Word doc with the air police 9 pt formatted; the text on the pdf form is air 9 pt, but the fields are formatted in courier 12 pt - how can I reformat the police in the fields?

    Edit the form fields so that they use Helvetica by 9 points. Do not set the Arial font. Acrobat/Reader will use a private version of Arial as a substitute for Helvetica. If you specify Arial, it will integrate the entire police (sometimes several times), makes that increase the file size unnecessarily.

  • Field validation text for the time format

    Hi all

    I have been breaking my head for almost 2 weeks, but am not able to figure it out... Please help me solve the riddle... here, it will:

    In a text field, I want to perform an operation in the following way:

    > a text default to 00:00:00 is defined at the moment as the text field is for the moment and the length in characters of the field is 8.

    > if the cursor is in position 0 (zero) and if I press a number of key it should replace the value of the 0 position and move the cursor to the next position.

    for example: 00:00:00

    20:00

    explanation : now the cursor is in position 0 and I press the 2 key it should replace the value 0 in position 0 and den move the cursor on the position 1 ie. next position...

    When I press a button not digital it shouldn't replace the value, but the slider should move to the next position.

    This seems to work ok. You need to test more, however. I've added a few properties for the hours, minutes and seconds as well.
