The iMessage and Facetime activation failed on El Capitan, after update

I've updated the OS X of El Capital, and since I can't activate iMessage or Facetime. They just keep trying to connect and not, or when an iMessage connects, I try to check the box "Enable this account", it keeps loading and nothing happens. I have attached an entry in the console app: http://pastebin.com/9sNL5hrv

Any help?

Hello

The stuff of Pastebin simply confirms that you are not connected.

Go upstairs to the left Menu Apple and select "at about this Mac"

In El Capitan (Yosemite) the Preview tab displays the serial number.

Can see you your?

In system preferences > users and groups to enable the guest account option or create a 'test' Mac user account.

Log on to your regular Mac user and the other account and set up Messages > iMessages account.

It connect?

If you have the serial number visible (present) BUT impossible to connect the two Mac then the Apple ID used user account has been blocked at the server iMessages.

Are there opportunities you have migrated this Mac from another Mac user?

If yes the keychain could contain info on the 'bad' serial number.

Go to Applications/Utilities and open Keychain Access app.

Have "Login:"Passwords"at the bottom left and top left."

Find the right pane for "ID: YourApple ID- Auth Token" and delete it (the bit "your Apple ID" should be an email)

Try again Message.

It may not work because this security feature may have blocked your ID (specifically the Mac) on the iMessages server.

    Hey pulkitgupta23,

I understand that you have a problem with your iPhone and iOS 10 where you have to reactivate your phone number for iMessage and FaceTime, every time that you restart your iPhone. We want to help you to get to the bottom of this and resolve this problem, so let's start with a few basic steps. I have some suggestions for you in the following article that could help us solve it correctly:

If you get an error when you try to activate FaceTime - Apple Support or iMessage

    Check your camera settings

    1. Make sure that you are connected to a Wi - Fi or cellular data. If you use an iPhone, you will need the SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your operator, you might be charged for the SMS.
    2. Go to settings > general > Date & time and make sure that you have configured your time zone correctly.

Stop and restart iMessage and FaceTime

    1. Go to settings > Messages and turn off of iMessage.
    2. Go to settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
    3. Restart your device.
    4. Turn on iMessage and FaceTime.

Try following these procedures, such as written and let us know the results. If the problem is still not resolved, try to provide as much detail as possible in your message tracking, including information on the first time, you have noticed the issue and source of your internet connection when the question is displayed. Thank you for joining the Apple Support communities with your questions!

Older versions of the improved Adobe taking place HD can be deleted after update?

Update from the upgrade - two different animals.  Updates the software that they update.  Upgrades of Adobe products do not need previous versions.

Improved versions are better off removed before installing updates.  There are occasions where different versions share a file where deleting an older version after installing the newest one can delete a necessary file.

  • Why is my iPhone 5 number listed as 'unknown' and not listed in iMessage and FaceTime?

I am a customer of StraightTalk. Originally, I had an iPhone CDMA 5 purchased directly from this company. After three years, the battery swelled and I came out of the Apple Store on Thursday with a replacement. After inserting a SIM to speak directly into the device and setting up, I can make calls, send text messages, use the cell data, etc.

However, my phone number in the settings is listed as 'unknown', and it is not listed at the top of the contacts screen. I can't send messages in my phone number iMessage, because it is not even listed as an option. Ditto for FaceTime. After several hours on the phone with Straight Talk, they determined that my phone service is configured properly, and it is a phone number.

Does anyone have a solution for this? It is incredibly frustrating that the iPhone 5 does every thing I need to do, and I prefer to keep my phone from replacement $ 75 for three years before moving on to an iPhone SE.

    Hello, smirza!

Thank you for using communities of support from Apple!  What I understand in your post, you got a replacement iPhone 5 and have found that your phone number is not listed in settings > phone and iMessages/FaceTime.  Your number should certainly be in all those places, so I'm happy that you came here, then we can help you understand what is happening together.  Check with your mobile provider was a big first step.  I have other ideas for you as well:

    1. It seems that you already have the latest version of iOS (9.3.4), but we will also check your carrier settings are up to date: iOS: update your carrier settings
    2. If you haven't already done so, save your iPhone on iCloud or iTunes: How to backup your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
    3. On your iPhone, go to settings > Contacts > My Info and make sure that your personal contact (with your iPhone phone number) card is selected.
    4. Go to settings > phone > my number and see if you are able to manually, enter your number and save it.
    5. If none of these steps work, try to restore your phone from the backup that you made: restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup
    6. If you still don't see your issue, try restoring your phone as a new and see if your number is: use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings

    Have a fantastic week!

  • My imessage and facetime will not work correctly

A few days ago my iMessage suddenly wasn't working properly on my mac. I could not receive messages, and when I tried to sent messages, he says not delivered. Then I reinstalled the OS X IS captain.

Then when I type a contact to send an iMessage from my mac, it turns red and said "message could not be sent, contact is not registered with iMessage. I am very sure that the contacts I want to send messages using iMessage.

I tried all the methods on the internet or the apple support, I contacted before, as sign and disconnect my apple on iMessage ID, or restart and set a safe mode, or remove the com.apple.ichat.plist and relaunch the app iMessage. All methods do not work. My iMessage application still have the problem.

Furthermore, I signed in my own apple on my friend's mac ID and test, iMessage work perfectly. So I'm very sure that the problems come from my mac, not my ID apple or something else.

    who can help me?

Please take each of the following steps that you have not already tried it. Stop when the problem is resolved.

    1. open the Messages preferences window, then select the tab accounts. On the left is a list of e-mail accounts that you have defined. Select iMessage. Make sure that the shown Apple ID is valid. If this is the case, check the box marked

    Activate this account

If it is not already done.

    2. disconnect iMessage on all your devices and reconnect. If you have activated the two-step verification for the Apple ID you use with iMessage, you must generate a password specific to the application and enter when you are prompted. Test.

Note: iMessage and iCloud are not the same, even if you use the same Apple ID for both. You need to disconnect from the iMessage, not iCloud.

    3. take this step if you have an iPhone the same Apple ID in Mac-related.

Follow the support article, under the heading

Set up SMS and MMS with continuity

If the text transfer is already activated on the phone, turn it off, then turn it back on.

Quit and restart the application Messages on Mac.

Credit for this observation to members of ASC Apple lawyer.

    4. it may be a problem with the Apple ID account, even if it works on another device.

Click on the help link at the top of this page to schedule a call of Support from Apple. You might not be charged for the call if you select "Apple ID" - not the model of equipment - as the product you request in connection.
