  Hi again together. As a C++ / VB programmer, I used by using a control specified structures like for loops and while loops and use predefined variables to solve my problems. I have a little trouble to adapt to the SQL paradigm, which really does contain a few key words and in built functions.
  
  I had to have some exercises to do by my tutor at the University, and I have a big enough problem with this one. I to recover the balance of the average customer of a 'customer' entity, but I have to do for each area code, not as a whole. When I look at this problem, I immediately think of loops, conditional check, a variable of integer type to control the loop and possibly a table or a vector data type to store the results. SQL is rather simple, and its simplicity is actually causing me problems, ironically.

  I was able to order the customer balances by their area code and to calculate the balances of customers on average as a whole, but as I said I had difficulties to calculate an average of customer balances exactly their area code and do it for all the codes present.

  OK, so you will understand how to get the average on all clients in SQL, not true? Something like

  SELECT AVG(cus_balance) avg_balance
    FROM customer
  

  If you want to get the average balance by another column, you simply group this column, i.e.

  SELECT cus_areacode, AVG(cus_balance) avg_balance
    FROM customer
   GROUP BY cus_areacode
  

  This essentially tells Oracle to group all data by area code before you run the aggregate function AVG on the cus_balance for each of these groups.

  We downloaded an automatic update of our HP Pavilion laptop running Windows 7.  This disabled somehow the wireless network adapter.  Readings of the error; "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device.  A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious from an unknown source. (Code 52) ».  We tried 2 system restore - problem persisted.

  I solved this problem to roll back the driver to that before the driver that is currently installed.  The wireless activated immediately when done.

  I ask this question with some trepidation, I'm sure someone out there will be able to explain it and then I'll feel really stupid asking.  But that's...

  Using a HTTP connection code sample in the developer's Guide (I checked 4.3 and 4.5, and it's the same in these two levels), use synchronized in two places that I don't understand.

  (1) getUrl() - Code follows

  I understand the comment, and it is sometimes useful force methods you want to synchronize.  But not this method in vessel closed.  If anything, there are more cases of use of this mechanism for the recovery method in this code.

  When I see a synchronization block like that, I guess it's a little shared code that can be executed by multiple threads, which this clearly isn't.  So why is it synchronized?

  In fact, I think that 'design' is a testament to this example may be imperfect.  I think it would be better to have a new Thread for each connection, or have a queue (synchronized) URL addressing.

  As evidenced by another thread on this forum, the developers make these samples as Gospel and try to use them.  So if this is wrong, perhaps we could fix.  But maybe it just me being a lumberjack full.  Wouldn't be the first time...  And won't be the last!

  It seems that this example has been designed with a base defense to the following (if no synchronization) scenario:

  Event thread request _start = true.

  Threaded starts the connection.

  Event thread again pray _start = true.

  Threaded end connection, defines _start = false.

  Net result: the second event thread request is not met.

  That being said, the guys are right: this design is mediocre at best.  In the scenario above, the second request of event thread is blocked while the thread of the connection ends... and as everyone knows at this point, blocking the event thread usually leads to a world of pain.  There are certainly better approaches that can be used here, and probably the easiest way to this problem is just to have the best control flow, such as not allowing not a new connection request while one is already underway.  Certainly the synchronization adds excessive complexity to this problem and distracts from what the sample is trying to demonstrate: a simple HTTP connection.

  For this example, and the extraction, I will recommend to the authors that both be reviewed and be a structure such that these samples are as simple as possible.  Thanks to Peter marchywka for their suggestions.  Comments like yours, it's how we identify areas for improvement.

  I replaced a heatsink and fan in a laptop of friends.  The laptop works fine now.  In Device Manager, however, I'm getting a code 31 for the Microsoft 6to4 adapter.  Is it because this person uses several networks?   I bought a package of Windows 7 from a supplier without realizing it was a distribution of subscription "not for sale". It is now installed on my computer after a painful migration from a dying hard drive which had Windows Vista installed. The old drive is now corrupt and not repairable.

Is it installed just fine on top of the MSDN license of Windows 7 and allowed me to install without erasing the contents of the disc. My applications and drivers are intact. Windows 10 also all updates installed correctly.

  This allowed me to remedy the situation without having to re - install everything that would have been very time consuming.
