Hi, I dropped my iphone on my laptop (of less than 30cm, I might add) and in some way he hit the right CTRL key and the key on the keyboard is popped! a whole little plastic broke from under the key (the mount under the white key is fine, just the black key is damaged)

I was basically wondering. Is there anywhere you can get replacement keys for this laptop?

Theoretically, you can try to find the defective keyboard, remove the button even CAP and set up on your laptop keyboard.
To be honest I don t think you can buy these caps key as unique pieces.

Check ebay. Maybe you can find defective or used the keyboard for a few euros.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
    • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

    I hope this helps!

  • Satellite X 200-how clean some keys on the keyboard

    Hello.

I'm looking to remove a portion of each of the keys on my keyboard and clean.
Some keys are starting to feel 'sticky', and I don't want to be cleaning them up and so on.

So, I'm having issues actually remove the individual keys. Like a laptop keyboard, I'm doubting you can just 'pop' out the keys with a needle or similar object. So, how do I remove them?

Quick Edit: as the title suggests, it's the Toshiba X 200.

    Hello

You mean you want to delete only the caps key?
Yes it is possible and the caps are glued on the keyboard!

So you can remove it carefully using a thin object.
You can out simple plugs with care.

I did very often to clean the space under the caps of buttons!

  • Tecra M2 mapping of the keyboard in Windows 2000

    Hi all

I have a Tecra M2 on which the WinXP was removed and replaced by a new installation of Windows 2000 SP4 (I prefer not to go into detail as to why this took place).

My problem is that the keyboard mapping is not correct under Win2000, for example if I press shift + 2 I get a @ and not a '. '. The problem exists with almost all the characters of Maj (' |,-,', ~,', ', @, #, etc..).

Note that I don't use any software that remaps the keyboard.

Does anyone know how this bee fixed?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I have the same problem on my laptop, but I don't have time to look at the problem until I saw this ad...

Here is the answer for Windows XP, I guess it's the same for Windows 2000, because the systems are similar.

Under start/setting/control panel, you will find the icon "regional and Language Options". Double click it and you get a new window. Select the folder "Language" then "Details". A new Windows pop up and from there you can select 'Add' services 'install '. Select your language to enter the menu drop-down, then click on 'OK '. Ensure that the value "default input language" is correct, then click 'OK' and click on 'OK '.

Normally, the operating system needs to restart to set the hardware!

Your keyboard should work correctly after the next system startup.

Let me know if it works for you

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of your modules is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).
See the extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common troubleshooting Firefox problems and troubleshooting questions with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems

If this does not work in safe mode and then disable all your extensions and then try to find out who is causing by allowing both the problem reappears.
You can use 'Disable all add-ons' on the start safe mode window.

I don't know if the keyboard needs replacing or the card mother of m.

Everyone knows similar and can suggest a remedy?
All the tips and suggestions appreciated.

    Hello

Have you tried to press CTRL once more to see if you can disable this?

To be honest it of not easy to say what might affect the functionality of the keyboard but it might be possible that the keyboard starts to failures

In this case it is sufficient to replace the keyboard.

But the fact is that it is only a hypothesis.
Maybe it's better to check the old s first keyboard (it's a work of technician) before buying a new.

  • Problem with the keyboard?

    Hello world...

I have a problem that becomes serious with my 4 years old Satellite: 2 keys became non-responsive (most of the time). So, please, forgive what looks like typing!

Frst supposed that there is little to dust under the keys and I decided to clean... but which looks much more serious: the rubber tip that makes the key - top pop upward, but also seems to transmit pressure to any sensor is below cracked! I guess this is the reason why my keys have become desensitized. See photo:

    http://myWeb.tiscali.co.UK/bmdtran/keyboard.jpg

Now, I take good care of my beloved Satellite and is rather shockng that this problem can occur after a relatively short life. A that someone has experienced this problem? Someone at - it advice for me?

    Thanks in advance...

    Bruno

    Hello

In my view, four years is a very good time with no problems, and if one or two buttons doesn't work properly I don't see it as something essential. Nothing can work forever.

Back to your question: problem is that the repair of simple buttons is usually not possible and in those cases, the entire keyboard needs to be replaced. I can't imagine that the keyboard costs a lot of money. Believe me, the replacement of keyboard is not complicated and you can do it alone. You can also check ebay and buy a used one.

  • Question about cleaning the keyboard of an Equium A60

    Hello

I recently managed to outflank cola on the keyboard of an Equium A60 and the keys are sticking rather annoying. Nothing else has been affected by the oil spill. Is there a way to clean the keys on these machines, such as by popping the key cover off? I am unwilling to put too much force to see if this method will not work because they don't seem like the type who's going to jump off and I don't want to cause any real damage (or rather, not more damage). As far as I remember, the period of guarantee in addition to the machine, so I prefer to take a solution that I can do myself rather than send in a (probably) expensive 'official' job. Any advice is welcome.

    Thank you

    Hello

sounds very good. How do you know that only the keyboard has been affected? Do you have some view of x rays? :)

I suggest you to bring the product to a technician because if once some fluid more so deeply touched a laptop, then you have a big problem.
I can't give you a few tips to clean your keyboard because it s not only of clothes that can be lifted in a tube with some oxy-clean.

I really suggest you to connect with someone who is familiar with this kind of computer system.

    Welcome them

  • How can I remove the keyboard from a HP Envy dv7t-7200

Hi, as the title suggests, I can't figure out how to remove the keyboard of my laptop, I unscrewed everything inside and removed the DVD tray, press the hole to lift the keyboard and the corner rises well, but two-thirds along the way the keyboard seems to be ensured by a tab or a lock , I guess there is something I'm missing, something I have to press to help completely free the keyboard, I think that there is a tab that is clicked, the manual mentions nothing about it.

    I read this:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/removing-keyboard-from-HP-envy-dv7-4000/TD-p/3230343

My problem seems to be substantially the same as his, unfortunately, the video who said his doubts is private. Can someone help me out here? I don't want to break the keyboard and I'm desperate, I saw tons of videos on other models, but they don't seem to have this feature. Will you please reply as soon as possible because it is a delicate task for me.

Thanks in advance for the help you provide.

I assume that you have the Manual:

See page 61. The sides of the keyboard have a small flange that goes under the "lip" of the hole in the lid of the top of the keyboard page. Get a spatula plastic under the edge of the keyboard and move around where you can pop out over the lip. He sticks in there a little and you can fold the keyboard a little to get him out of the opening. It'll probably take a little more force you have been willing to apply.

  • Access to the context using the keyboard rather than the mouse menu?

I'm back using Windows (7) to my new job after using the iOS for 15 years.

Now I find I want to use the keyboard to do many things that you can do with the mouse on iOS.

The "Accelerator" keys are very practical. So - if I type , then

    - then I activate the command paste in Word, for example.

Access keys are also available via a context menu. However, the only way to access the context menu - I can find - is a right click with the mouse.

So now I'm back using the mouse AND keyboard, which sort of defeats the purpose.

I find no way to pop open a context menu by using the keyboard. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, if it is not a "integrated" way, it won't help, because I can't make any changes by programming to my computer either. It's very tight here :(

    Thanks for any help.
