Looking at the account in Thunderbird foders, I see the number of unread messages in each folder. "Bulk Mail" always seems to be empty. If I click on the "Bulk Mail" folder, then magically messages appear in the message list and the number of unread messages is displayed next to the name of the folder, as in all other folders for this account.

  Yahoo deletes the messages in this folder during certain periods. I'm in danger of losing messages unless I remember to touch all of the mail files in bulk from my account Yahoo in Thunderbird.

  I do not use IMAP in Thunderbird, so I can't provide instructions step by step, however, other e-mail programs have settings synchronize each individual file on a calendar or using push IMAP (vs when you click it) or not. If Thunderbird has these parameters, I would expect that they appear in the properties of the folder or the account settings. This might be useful, but I don't know if you already have a few dig like that or not.

  It might be a good starting point because it does not mention connections to IMAP folder, but the folder properties could still be somewhere easier to read first, just in case. To do this, the site lists this:

  Nope, that was the last attempt of whoever does make it possible on the list for years, was rejected by Mozilla. So it will be years before we get it probably are a replacement for Mozilla XUL should be found.

  I have a fairly big screen so I prefer to use the vertical display (with message pane appears to the right of the message list pane).

  I use quick filters / lot of research in the search for old messages. In doing so, my attention is focused on the message list pane, but to type an expression that I have to drag my focus on the far right of the screen, above the message pane. Logically, this area of the screen should be associated with the message, not the list of messages.

  Ah, found the bugzilla database - was looking for link to support the site, but as I couldn't find one, I assumed that this channel has been used on the screen of the excessive defects in bugzilla.

  In any case, a quick search found me https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=592248 - where someone complained the quick filter bar was too short in vertical view and this has been resolved by extending the bar on the top of the message pane.

  I guess that preference will depend on the size of the screen. I will take the question through bugzilla and can provide a patch to satisfy both sides, if I have time one of these days.

  I'm using the latest Thunderbird beta chain, v38. I saw it in the stable version string as well, so I thought I would try the beta channel to see if it was fixed, but it wasn't.

  The problem is that the list of messages is not refresh all the time during the passage of the records. If I have one in my Inbox folder, for example, and then select my junk e-mail folder, the message list will not be updated and discount, until I drag my mouse on the list of messages. Then, it will refresh by line that the mouse is in each row.

  I'm on Windows 7 64-bit, with a processor i5 and 8 GB of RAM. Nothing else on my system is slow. This will happen when Thunderbird is the only application running. I also have a skin applied to my user interface. I tried a few different skins, and this problem happens with all of them.

  A second question, I noticed this morning, is that when I got a new email, the entire application seemed to momentarily freeze while for this new email notification was generated. As soon as the notification became visible, the app because sensitive again. Maybe a thread to post here.

  It looks like this bug. If you have a Bugzilla account, it would be useful to vote for this issue.

  It seems that lists with a description that includes several words have this problem. The bug report suggests to replace whites "" between the words in the descriptions of these lists with an underscore "_".

  If you don't want to change your descriptions, the other workaround provided still works.
