The message "an email in my Outbox unsent" at the opening of Windows live mail.

Original title: Windows live mail

I sent an email with attached photos.  It has been returned as being too big for the reception of the receiver box.  Now, I get a message saying that I have an email no sent in my Outbox which I can't get rid of.  It lights whenever I am in Live Mail.  How can I get rid of this unwanted message (I won't send it to anyone).

Hi Maureen,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

Unsent messages is in your folder, for obvious reasons. They are in your Outbox waiting to be sent in. The Outbox is below account files in the folders pane. You will probably need to work offline before you can delete any message will avoid in there.

Follow the steps below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

  • On the Home tab, select to work offline.
  • In the view tab, uncheck the reading pane.
  • On the left side, scroll down to "Storage folders" and you'll see the Outbox.
  • Open the Outbox and delete the message.
  • Check the status of your problem.

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

Kind regards

    Hi Annabelle.

What account you have set up in Windows Live Mail?

You can first try to connect directly to the webmail to address account email configured in a browser and check what is happening.

If you receive the same error, then you must contact the support for the e-mail service provider.

    Hi Doug MacDonald.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. What web browser are you using to print Web pages?

If you use Internet explorer, then change the margin settings to the title of the page setup in the file menu and check if that helps.

The steps I have provided previous works if you use a web browser to connect to your emails. Windows Live Mail is an email client that requires your password to be added during Setup. This service can be set to disconnect when you quit the program

If your computer is shared, a work-around for you would be to create a new user account and this secured with a password. This only will allow you to access your emails.

    Create a user account

  • Send only the feature in Windows Live Mail

I want to send an email but not receive emails. I can't find a way to send only without receiving email in Windows Live Mail. Windows Mail and Outlook Express had this feature, but I can't find it on the new version. Am I missing it or it is no longer available?

As it was in Outlook Express, there is no send all button. You can, however, achieve the same effect: for each account, right-click on the account name in the folders pane, and then select Properties. On the general tab, uncheck the include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing. Outgoing messages will be sent according to your settings Options > General: send and receive messages at startup and the arrival of new messages every n minutes, then on the tab send : send messages immediately. CTRL-Shift-O should open the Options sheet.

If you never wanted to receive with these settings, simply select the account from the drop-down list in the send/receive button.

  • Location of the folder to Windows Live Mail attachments

    Hello!

I'm operating on your laptop abroad. The email client is Windows Live Mail.  I do not use it at home. People send me .doc attachments or.docx.  I don't have Office 2010 on this machine so need to open them in free Office or Open Office. I looked in AppData/Roaming and cannot find the .doc files.

    Thank you

    FJJWagner

I just browsed to the folder where incoming .doc files are stored

When you receive an e-mail message with an attachment, the "attachment" is just a block of code at the end of the message you want to read. In the upper part of the block will be a line of header Content-Type by saying the program which contains the code block. For a Word document, it will often be application/msword. You can see for yourself if you select the message in the message list, press Ctrl-F3. This will reveal all of the source of the message. Attachments will be inside; If you start at the bottom and scroll until you get a blank line, you will see the header for the attachment lines.

The attachment does not become a file until you ask the client e-mail program to open it or save it to a file. Then, the program converts the code in the appropriate format - in this case, a Word document - and generates a file. If you have selected Save, the file will have the name you choose and be stored in the location you choose. To do this, in Windows Live Mail, right-click on the icon of the attachment in the message header area, and then select record under. You can accept the file name suggested if there is one, or enter a new name. Once registered, the attachment is a Word document as those you produce yourself and will be treated as such by any program that you use to open it.

If you receive a message like this one in a Hotmail type account and read in your web browser, will give you the ability to view the attached document online, where you will be able to use an online version of Word to read, edit and save the document. • Hot mail is the substitution of Windows Live mail.

I run Windows XP...  My favorite messaging system is Windows Live.  9/12, I downloaded Skype, as a friend at summer camp and I wanted to communicate via video chat, and it's the system he uses.  I did not like the format, so I uninstalled Skype.  Since that time, I was able to send or receive e-mail messages through Windows Live.  In the pop-up window state, where I can look at what tasks are accomplished, it always ends, saying 108 0f 110 tasks - 2 tasks that fail every time are send and receive e-mail messages via Windows live...  How to make Windows Live my default account WITHOUT losing all mail sitting in Hotmail?  Your help would be appreciated - I'm almost BALD now., I pulled the hair so try to understand this.  My computer man and I were on the phone more than an hour, try to use assistance remotely to slove this problem, but our two computers would not interface.  Thanx

Whenever you encounter an error of this kind, it is essential to quote the full error message for those who might help you to had the chance to see what the problem is. To do this, click on an error message to select it, and then use a right click to copy and Ctrl + V to paste in your message.

Windows Live Mail has its own support at the Windows Live Solution Centerforums. Please address any other question you may have on one of the forums on the right side of this page. You are probably asked to give your version of WLMail and Windows so that the answer may be more accurate. In WLMail to find your version of the software, a press on ALT - H. If it doesn't show you the version and the build number, press on escape to two times, and then Alt - F B.
