The neighbor on my local Mac

My neighbor's Mac, I saw on my article 'shared' on finder, honestly, I freaked out. I "options of sharing" is off and I just put my firewall but his name is still visible, I double checked and returned in system preferences > sharing, none of the boxes is ticked, and honestly, I'm worried about the privacy of my laptop. can anyone help? Ive searched and found a way that is, finder > Preferences > sidebar and uncheck all 3 options under share, but I'm afraid that people always have access to my laptop.

You let your neighbor connect you to your network?

Other computers will show as shared when connected to the same network. Unless yo then gives access to the share that they are unable to access your Mac.

If you don't give them access, then change the password for your wifi network and check to see if yo have any strange cable connected to your network

If the Time Capsule and MacBook Pros are not on the same network, the MacBook is not backup in the time Capsule. You probably see what snapshots leaving MacBook on the local disk, until the two are reconnected. If you don't want that to happen, disable Time Machine on a different network.

I found that a certain time at the time where I was doing a similar search.    Try and see if it works for you.

    1. Open the Applications folder on your Mac (or anywhere where you installed the VMware View Client).
    2. Click right (or Ctrl-click) on the VMware View Client app and select to view the contents of the Package on the shortcut menu.
    3. Finder will now show you the content of the application. In this new window open the content of the folder, and then open the resources folder.
    4. In the folder resources , you will see a file named vmware - view.rdp. This is the model that the View Client uses to generate new RDP connections. By changing this file, you can change the behavior of the RDP sessions that creates the view.
    5. Open the file vmware - view.rdp in a text editor and change the entry for DriveRedirectionMode, changing its value between 0 and 1.
    6. Save the changes, you will be probably prompted for authentication of your Mac (because you modify the content of an application in the Applications folder).

The next time you start the client VMware View on your Mac, your local hard drives will be available inside VMware View. You will see a security warning to each connection on your Mac drive for potential users of Windows sharing. Also note that any connected USB drives need to be connected to your Mac before launching VMware View for them to be visible.

  • Help needed - "cannot download the folio on your local drive.

    Hello

(WARNING: for the first time post :-))

I have trouble downloading my folio published. During the last 24 hours I repeatedly get the following error (after a long wait with the status 'Preparation content by downloading... ") on different computers (Mac/PC) and browsers:

An error occurred during the export of the folio

Could not download the folio on your local drive

My first version is delivered to an Android app (created using the viewer Builder) and has been incorporated into an iOS app (also created using View Designer).  All this worked without any problems and I can export this now.

In order to optimize the folio for the new iPad, I decided to use the PDF option that required me to rebuild the folio.  The content is identical to the bar a few dates changed from 2011 to 2012.  I just need to export the folio so I can incorporate into an update iOS application.  The folio is not (at this stage) given to the Android app.

I hope someone can help :-)

    Andrew

Edit: Using the new Adobe Content Viewer I see TWO versions of the folio - one with the lightning bolt blue - but maybe that's normal?

    Hi Philippe,.

Thanks for the reply.  After a lot of testing, I discovered that my preview of the cover images were the problem.  I've been using PNG files and when I used the versions JPG export worked.

Maybe that's a one-time problem, but I thought I'd share the solution in any case.

    Kind regards

    Andrew

  • Home of the iTunes sharing works on Mac, not on iOS

    Hello

I'm trying to use home sharing to play music from the iTunes library on my Mac on my iOS devices, but it does not work. The devices that I use are a Mac Mini Sierra, who has my iTunes library, a 5 c with iOS 10.0.2, iPhone an iPad 2 running iOS 9.3.5 and a MacBook Pro 2011 Sierra running. I have iTunes running on the Mac Mini, with home sharing enabled. The MacBook Pro, I can see and play the shared library. I am connected to the same on all devices iCloud account, and I am connected to home sharing within the parameters of the music on the two devices with the same account. All devices are connected to the same WIFI network to a router TP-Link Archer C7. On the iPhone with iOS 10, home sharing must be one of my options when you click the library, but it is not. On the iPad with iOS 9.3.5, home sharing should appear in the dropdown at the top of the screen my music, but it does not appear. I tried to turn home sharing and turn it back on to the host computer, turning home sharing and turn it back on client devices, restart the host computer and restart client iOS devices. In addition, I tried this on a 4th generation iPod Touch (does not work) and MacBook Air my wife (works). Why is it not this work for my iOS devices?

I thought about it. In addition to activating iTunes home sharing preferences on the host computer, you must also go to file > home sharing > turn on home sharing and enter your iTunes account information. I doesn't make sense to me that you would have to enable home sharing on two different places to do work with different types of devices, and there is no explanation for this data in the documentation I've seen.

  • Deleting the files for installation on Mac

So for the past few weeks, my Mac suddenly began to slow down to a point where it is unusable, and I have to force quit. Then, it's all right, until it happens again.

So, I opened my activity monitor to check to see if something was using any high CPU or memory. Under both, I found 3 files named "Installer" that used 90% of my memory and CPU! They were currently only when my computer was working extremely slow, however. So, I stopped and now I left them, you can see the memory/cpu usage down almost 90% to 5% usage. Of course, I know this should not be the case, and their abandonment seems to work, temporarily... Files back about twice a day, and I have to repeat the process.

It isn't a huge deal, now that I found what is causing the spike of lag, it's just annoying to have to open the activity monitor all the time and be ready to close the installation files when the lag spike occurs. It happened to me several times as he tried to take notes in class, which can cause a lot of headaches trying to get my computer facing up and running in a short period of time.

Anyone know what this could be due to leave? Every time I close among the installation files, so I thought they would have gone, but they seem to keep coming back. It's very strange.

Try to start safe mode (press on and hold down the SHIFT key during startup)

Options of the SSD in late 2013 Mac Pro update?

Mac Pro has 256 GB which is almost full despite the displacement of all the large files (Photos, downloads, etc.) out of the disc. I'm at a point where the Player update seems to be a must.

I think you're bad read the OWC page. They propose to replace the internal SSD stick with their largest capacity SSD stick. The external box is only for you to continue to use the original USB key (perfect condition) as an external drive, if you wish.

  • The profile from PC to Mac migration failed.

I recently made the switch from PC to Mac and can't get my Firefox data migrated. I prefer to be able to transfer the profile if possible (instead of using the synchronization), because the sync transfer my modules. The information that I find in the knowledge base seem to date, so I don't know what the problem is.

I was using the latest version of Firefox on Windows 7. I am now using MacOS Yosemite (regardless of the version that is; I don't am not very savvy Mac yet). I copied the entire Mozilla from AppData folder and crushed the Mozilla folder on my Mac with it, but Firefox is acting like I did nothing - I still have just a basic, clean install. I don't know why it is not reading the data that I copied, because I copied this, INI files and everything.

Profiles.ini should be compatible, but the structure of folders on Mac is maybe different on Mac.

Also be sure to check the permissions of files and folders (read/write access).

You should find the file profiles.ini in this hidden place:

    • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
      * C:\Users\ < user > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\
    • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox /.
    • Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/

It is always better to let Firefox create a new default profile (delete profiles.ini to force a new default profile) and copy only the minimum of files.

I used to be able to sync the two and now I can't even download the photos from my phone on my mac...

iOS9 on a mobile device requires iTunes 12.3 or higher, which in turn requires a computer running OSX 10.8.5 or higher.  Update of the system only checks the updates for the current version of the system you run, but that itself can be updated.  It may or may not be possible to upgrade your computer to the system requirements. Find your computer on the web site of http://www.everymac.com model and near the bottom of the specification of the system section, he will tell what versions of the operating system, it is able to run. If you can not run a newer system, you will not be able to sync this phone to your current computer. If she can run 10.8.5 or higher, you can either buy a download for Apple OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion code online, or you can try to install the free El Capitan OSX 10.11.  El Capitan can run slower on older machines and require the additional purchase of RAM.  Making a big jump in versions of system is also more likely to affect the old software.
