The new blackberry - tablet.xml

Hi all

I heard with OS 2 and BB 10 soon, blackberry - tablet.xml is now changed to something else.

So I wanted to know, I can keep blackberry - tablet.xml and add the new also the same extent of file or which may cause a problem with the operating system when it detects 2 files?

Same format, just rename to blackberry - tablet.xml bar - descriptor.xml

  • Editor in the file blackberry - tablet.xml AND size of the icons

    The fact of the Editor:

    This line

    A name goes here

Must be the same name as the company that has been registered under the account of the seller of blackberry appworld? Or if not a business then the same name as the person who has been registered under the account of the seller of blackberry appworld?

Also, this is a completely different issue, but the size of the icon of the application should be 86 x 86 as a PNG, right?

The tag in the file blackberry - tablet.xml is the same name you registered with your keys and are identical to the CN value during the signing process.

    86 x 86 PNG is fine.

  • BlackBerry - tablet.xml structure

Is the structure for blackberry - tablet.xml documented somewhere? I thought that's where I should look in if I want to change the default value to the loading screen. Hope someone can shed some light on this.

    Hey ryan,

You cannot change the appearance of page in any case load yet. his will appear for each load. How ever what you are referring to is the blackberry - tablet.xml and there you can change which category your application icon appears in. here is the link to the page of information about the XML document:

    http://docs.BlackBerry.com/en/developers/deliverables/21877/Add_icon_to_configuration_file_1374808_1...

This is the structure of the document blackberry - tablet.xml:

        none
        true

      Sample Inc.
      core.internet

        your_image.png

    Good luck!

  • < category > does not work in blackberry - tablet.xml

In the playbook Simulator, my application is displayed in the category 'all' applications, even if I am in blackberry - tablet.xml, it's category has utility value.  Adding an icon and all other parameters in xml file work again.  Here's what's in my file to blackberry - tablet.xml:

        none
        false

      Sample Inc.
      core.utilities

        quadraticIcon.png

    What I am doing wrong?

Maybe it doesn't work because there is no "core.utilities".  Try "core.utils", as stated in a message by taylortbb

  • BlackBerry Smartphones support comes to buy the new blackberry bold 9700

Hi everyone I just bought the new blackberry bold 9700 from at & t and im paying $ 25 a month for the internet and I have the black iphone theme. I used to have the old curve and I thought I knew everything there was to know about the BlackBerry, but now I am having a problem... on my screen theres a envelope which according to him as the number 1 indicates that I have a message that has been closed, but I do not know how to open it. It is not a text or bbm message or an instant message. my phone is not related to my email, so my question is how can I find where this message is in my phone and how to open it because it is really starting to annoy me haha please help!

Open the application "messages".  Press the 'u '.  Brings you to the last e-mail unopened.  If there is nothing in there, press the menu key and select 'View Saved messages.'  Do the same thing in there with the U key (if there is a lot.)  If it is not in the saved messages, doing the same thing again, and then select "view folder" and each search folder until find you it.

  • The new blackBerry software computer - why link BB do not access my Z10?

    I got a new computer, Windows 10.

When I plug my BB Z10 via the USB port the OS sees the BB as a player - so I can access data, etc.-, photos, but BB does not recognize the device (it is grayed out).

Could it be because the new PC has an another computer name as the old PC?

I support my BB to my old PC at the moment just to have a backup, what should I do then? I have to actually remove the old account from link BB on my Z10 and a new one with the NEW name? (afraid to do so because it is said that this erases everything).

Just don't know what to do – want to keep using my BB with BlackBerry link and backing up, etc., but on the new PC.

    Thanks for your help!

    Thank you @sdgardne

Just to answer one of your questions I did had not migrate any data from the old PC (Vista Ultimate). It is a new laptop with no data on the subject.

In any case, I took your suggestions/article and set up a * lot * of them - most of them, in fact.

At some point, I also came across another article saying to RESTART the phone - something that easily go unnoticed.

Well, I did it, and then BB link recognized the device. But I don't know if it was all the other steps I've done MORE restart or if the restart would have solved it.

I'll never know, but I'm posting here in case it helps someone else.

Bottom line, it works now (yay!).

    So thank you very much.

  • Dependency problem with the new Blackberry Plugin for Eclipse

I just encountered a problem with the new version of the JDE Eclipse Plugin. I set up my application project so that it uses two other projects such as libraries. Both of these projects are on the way to build Java in the settings of the application project, and the manufacturer Eclipse compiles without errors.

But when I try to run on the Simulator, the application loader throws an Exception stating that it could not find one of the classes listed in library projects. Since it is the importation of first class in the main class, I guess that it was unable to find the entire library.

I tried to have the application project to import the project two library, but nothing alx files has changed.

In the old version of the Plugin, there is a property of the project "Blackberry project dependencies" or something like that, which should be set for library and rapc.exe projects and the simulator would be their. That went away, and I was told during Devcon now suffice to add libraries to the classpath. Apparently, this is not so for me.

Can you give me an indication of what goes wrong?

The problem seems to be that I imported my projects since the previous version of Eclipse plug-ins, Blackberry. I have now created a new workspace and new projects, completely maintaining the source files, and it works.

    Hi all

Y at - it an easy way to transfer all my files and contacts in the front of my Blackberry Curve 8320 to my new Blackberry Curve 9300. Keep it simple for me.

    Thank you very much

I think you'd have to do is plug your device your device with the blackberry desktop software, backup, plug the device you want to transfer your data on too... and then restore the data and choose the backup file that has been created.

  • Use of Smartphones 'restoration' of the new blackBerry phone?

Hi... my Blackberry Bold 9700 should arrive in a few days.  Now, I have a BB Curve 8320.

    Issues related to the:

    (1) is it possible to use the 'restore' in BB Desktop Manager to transfer all the data from the old phone Bold 9700?  Or should I use the device switch Wizard?  I have no additional requests... I want to especially my contacts and settings to the new phone.  The representative at T-Mobile I could simply 'restore' my supported stuff on my new phone, but I do not know I hope this info.

    (2) your recommendation should be to use the device switch Wizard, I need to connect two phones in my computer at the same time... If I do, I guess I'll need to get another cable?

    (3) any suggestions on how to make this transition as easy as possible?  Once the new phone arrives here, he will travel with me to travel and it SHOULD work.  : sigh:

    Carrier: T-Mobile

BB Destop eat - latest version just downloaded today

    Windows XP

    Thank you very much!

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

1 switch Device Wizard is best if you want everything to the new "BOLD".

If you really ONLY want to move your contacts and your settings... you can use Restore > Advanced and selectively choose which databases are restored (like address book, address book settings, etc., then you will get your preferences for different apps if you choose correct food items.

2 anyway, two or one only at a time, the SDW invites you to enter the second device timely.

    3. why the sigh, don't like to travel?

I recommend before doing the restore data, FIRST upgrade you the operating system on the new devcie to the latest available for the 9700 OS v.5.0.0.442 - see link below, just follow the simple instructions in the link.

    http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-9700-series-discussion-bold-2/217494-latest-OS-9700-5-0-0-72...

    THEN do the restore.

THEN connect to your carrier BIS account and use the CHANGE DEVICE to link to enter the new code PIN and IMEI in your account so that your emails starts to flow to the new device.

    Good luck.
