The Norton Toolbar will be available any time soon in Firefox 4 BETA, or in future updates?
I am running Firefox 4.0 b7.
If Norton is also slow to come with an update for Firefox 4.0, as they were last January when Firefox 3.6 is out, count on it a few months before you get it done correctly. IIRC, with 3.6 is looked like 5 or 6 weeks, and then it took them another 2 or 3 weeks to fix what they did the first tests two or three wrong.

When the Norton Toolbar will work on Firefox 8?
Whenever I'm Firefox 7, I get the pop-up box saying to install Firefox 8, I could do this only Norton is not compatible with 8 so for now, I'll use FF7.
I installed 8 only to find that the toolbar has been disabled!
I restarted OS (as suggested by Stan0008 above), then the third reboot, Norton does not update correctly. I contacted Norton at this stage.
So far, Norton Add ons were not visible in any of my menus either. Right SOD they suddenly appear in the Tools menu when Norton were there remotely fiddling.
You will then need to activate your Norton Toolbar from there. There will be two options, one is the toolbar and the other as "Norton vulnerability Protections." Select both.
(Or let Norton remote... maybe they a magic wand over there at their end to bring up in the first place... the Add option!) -

The norton toolbar feature that identifies problem sites
(web safe) is a good tool and has saved us many problems.
Experience, I think it's something I have to have.I loaded firefox 4 and although I like the program I took it
the lack of this feature but I would use FF4.You will need to contact Norton on their plans for support to Firefox 4. It is quite common for businesses don't support a new version of a browser after that that it has been officially released, and it is not supported for the candidate/beta phase.

When a patch for Norton and Firefox 30,00 toolbar will be available.
30 version is incompatible with the Norton toolbar. When a patch will be available?
Norton has an update for Firefox 30.0 since Firefox 30.0 was released June 10.
As you can see in http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Toolbar-Norton-Identity/Firefox-30-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/1142568
The Norton toolbar must be updated for each new major Firefox .exe version and Norton has done that in a day since Firefox 5.0

When I signed up Firefox, this morning, I received notification that an important security update must be installed. When I installed it, a window will appear showing the addons that were not supported in this new version. One of them was the Norton Toolbar. I rely on the part Identity Safe on the toolbar to provide me with sign auto to frequently visited Web sites. How can I return this function?
Norton has published an update to make their modules to work with the new version of Firefox. Click on this link for more information:

I just went to level to Firefox 8.0 and a message appears saying that Norton Toolbar is not supported by this version of Firefox. This literally means that it is not supported or I will be able to accept it as a 3rd party module approved? If it is not supported, you have plans to support in the future?
Because the patch only for Norton 2011,2012 and 360, in order to obtain the fix, you must switch to product 2011 or 2012... the upgrade are free pireod license and you can activate your product with existing license
Here is the statement for details on how to find your version, the upgrade and how to apply the patch -

I'm using the beta version, you will offer the Norton Toolbar on the version beta?
It might be a good idea to see if the Norton toolbar works with the beta
Mozilla do not provide updates Norton tool bar extension because it would be Symantec as mentioned.

There are pages where I think that the page should be secure is starts with https:// and the lock however seems to show it's safe. However the Norton toolbar only indicates that the page is secure; It doesn't mean it's safe. Sometimes the lock is not displayed but the Norton toolbar says the page is secure. Most of the time the two indicators are okay, but I was wondering why there are moments where they are not.
Hello! The question you have posted is really an interesting question. The following could be the reasons for this:
- NORTON provides a security seal to the owners of Web sites. Sometimes these joints can be revoked or expire. That's when NORTON Security Toolbar will display it "Insecure". But the same site may use SSL, then Mozilla poster protection the golden padlock and identify as "Secure".
- Sometimes, a site cannot use SSL, but to use Norton seals. While Mozilla identifies it as "Insecure" and Norton identifies as "Secure".
Security measures could change the behavior of the different measures of protection. But as Mozilla checks the SSL certificate on the Web site (and not for any joints!), a better option would be to trust of the sites identified by the golden padlock, because it guarantees a total safety.
We hope that these reasons would cause.

The new version of Firefox 20 is compatible with the Norton Toolbar?
I just received notice this morning on this new version of Firefox, but I hesitate to install until I know that my Norton toolbar will work. Can you give us some information? Thank you!
Solael,
Best is to ask the support of Comcast directly.
http://forums.Comcast.com/T5/security-and-anti-virus/BD-p/13Are you aware that Firefox 21 is scheduled to be released next Tuesday, May 14?
https://wiki.Mozilla.org/RapidRelease/calendar
Comcast & Norton are already over 5 weeks of delay in the release of a compatibility update for Firefox 20.Norton being the update compatibility Firefox 20 for their retail security applications in the 2 hours 20 Firefox being out, my guess is that Comcast is a delaying the update for their version of 'brand' of Norton.
See this response from a Manager Norton at the forum in support of Norton on April 29.
I apologize for not replying sooner. We're sorry for the delay, and we understand how frustrating this situation has become, however Norton & Comcast are working hard to resolve some recent changes for the Comcast Norton Security Suite. We want to reach a commercially viable resolution together in the best way possible, and do that as quickly as we can. I'll update you on any status change or additional information as it becomes available. Thanks for hanging in there with us. Tony Weiss Norton Forums Global Community Manager Symantec Corporation
I read 'commercially viable resolution' , as they are worth some money, and Comcast is dragging their customers dry for almost 6 weeks now.

before I did the upgrade to firefox 4 it used to be indicators such as green points with hooks or gray points with an exclamation mark let me know if the site is secure. the norton toolbar has been replaced by a yahoo toolbar and the secure site of identity has disappeared. thought I was doing myself a favor of the upgrade, but now I'm not sure. should have left well enough alone and kept what I had.
Symantec needs update their Firefox Add-ons to make them compatible with Firefox 4. They indicated that, for Norton 360, they plan to release a update of Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early may - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web & docurl = 20100720113635EN & ln = en_US
I don't know about the time scale for the updates for other Norton products. Waiting for the update by Symantec, if you want to use Norton modules, you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
Downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first of all uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option 'remove my Firefox personal data '. If you select this option, it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
Then you can install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your favorite courses, passwords etc.
I recommend, to avoid possible problems with decommissioning, accessing your profile folder and delete the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Delete these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, check their compatibility and cancel the toolbar customizations.
For more information on how to find your profile folder, see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

When Norton Vault will be available again on Firefox?
I prefer to continue to use Firefox, but since I depend on having Norton available Vault, I'm very used to the use of Chrome because of this incompatibility Norton Vault with Firefox problem.
Volunteers on this forum are very familiar with the ongoing problems with modules of Norton.
For now, the only way to use your safe with Firefox must manually copy/paste your passwords. The Norton toolbar to update published last week does not yet support the arch/Identity Safe.
Norton is promising a second update, but no time was given.

As you can imagine, none of us are going independent with change your security software. Symantec is the only person who can solve this problem.
