  So, when I came home, I though I'll add my laptop and my iMac to sync FF, but to my surprise, the instructions are that I should add a device on FF where I created my account, which is at work!

  This problem can cause if the keyboard layout has changed, or because Microsoft account synchronization issues.

  Looks like it's just your Apple's Mail application that shows the incorrect number of e-mails on your iPad. I would like to start by leaving the Mail app and the settings app:

  Force an app to close the iOS

  1. press the Home button twice quickly. You will see small glimpses of your applications recently used.
  2. slide to the left to find the application you want to close.
  3. push upward on the overview of the application to close.

  When you have done that reboot the device and test again the question:

  iOS: switch off and on (restart) and reset

  If the problem persists then I would remove the account from the application settings, restart the iPad and try again:

  1. Delete the email account assigned from your device with these steps:
     1. Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, calendars.
     2. Press the email account.
     3. Press to delete the account.
     4. Add your account again.

  I went through a considerable amount of effort to organize my e-mail on iCloud in several folders, some nested, including using filters to Apple to sort my emails in these folders.  I was really surprised to see that the mail iOS app is not able to maintain unread accounts next to these folders.  I think that it is possible to declare as "Inbox", but in addition to the clutter of dozens of them, he "flattens" and resumes the structure unnecessarily.   A second problem with the filters of Apple on the iCloud is that iOS doesn't let you get to iCloud.com via Safari to manage your filters.  You use Chrome or non - iOS to connect to iCloud.com system.   I don't see why this is so.

  You can press and hold the icon Refresh (semicircular arrow) into the URL bar "Ask Site Desktop" will appear and then press that.

  MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan

  First of all, make sure that you don't have two accounts with the same address. What happens if one of them is an iCloud account.

  From the Mail menu bar, you select

  ▹ Connection Doctor window

  In the window that opens, look for an SMTP (outgoing mail) account with a name that corresponds to the account that you are trying to add. Double-click it. Another window opens, displaying the list of all outgoing mail accounts. Click the sign button less to remove the corresponding one, and then click OK.

  Try to add the email account again. If you still can not, log off or restart the computer, and then open the preferences window accounts Internet and check if the account is displayed.
