The package files .ko pilot VIB in ESXi

I hope that this Question can be answered "usually":

I have a few .ko driver files, they come from the Microsoft DSL: Download Linux Integration Services Version 4.1 for Hyper-V to official Microsoft Download Center

I want to try ingerate these drivers on a VIB in the ESXi ISO with the community of packaging tools: VMware experience before: packaging of ESXi community tools

In the first step of "Creation of the TGZ file" im not sure what folder structure I should use.

Is it possible to use .ko files directly in the TGZ Archive or have this drivers to recompile first on linux?

Hi Michael,

It's not very clear what you're trying to reach.

Microsoft Linux Integration Services (LIS) must be installed on a Linux VM running on Hyper-V.

Then, you try to run ESXi as a Hyper-v virtual machine?

In the DSL .ko files are the Linux kernel drivers and cannot be used directly on ESXi. If you have their source code available, then you might try to adapt and the re - compile for ESXi (a starting point is here: VMware experience before: how to build devices for ESXi 5.x drivers), but it of a big effort and requires skills 'Linux hacking '.

An alternative is to use the map inherited from Hyper-V for the ESXi VM and install the driver net-tulip on ESXi. To do this, more info is here: https://vibsdepot.v-front.de/wiki/index.php/Net-tulip

    My document has no reported errors, and everything is taken into account.

  • How to compile the package file?

    I have an actionscript file, it has a package name, it locate C:\demo directory, as follows:

    import flash.display. *;

    ABC/public class extends Sprite {}

    public void ABC() {}

    ......

    }

    }

    }

    Then I compile code like following the command, but it increase suite above error:

    C:\ > mxmlc demo\ABC.as

    C:\sdk\frameworks\flex-config.xml loading configuration file

    C:\demo\ABC. As: Error: a file in a source path must have the same package structure ", as a package of the definition,"demo ".

    Where not right above the command?

  • Creative Enterprise Cloud: Is it possible to choose where the temporary package files are downloaded?

    I'm a business administrator and must use a Windows computer to download and create different packages of creative cloud. Package first temp files download on the C:\ (system disk) and then the real package in the location specified. usually on a different drive/partition. I do the C:\ partition (by Re-partitioning) much larger than normal size in order to make the temp files to fit if I don't have the drive C:\ fills and creating a fair package will stop/does not work, no message. An option is possible to direct the where you want the package files temp will be held as the choice of a different drive / partition to store?

    I create 32 and 64 bit CC packets.

  • Turn * off * PDF writes to the folder of the Package

    When I have the package files in InDesign CC, it automatically writes a PDF file in the folder of the package. I would like to disable this option. Does anyone know how?

    It's a checkbox in the dialog box for packaging.  Uncheck the box; It's a sticky choice, so you'll only have to do once.

  • Adobe Presenter 10 installation fails (by using CCP1.5 to create package files)

    IM on a PC - packaging 10 presenter for x 86 installation on Windows 7 x 64. You will need to be x 86 install as in our picture presenter is MS Office 2010 x 86 what presenter adds the Add on too. I use the Creative Cloud Packager 1.5 to make the x 86 package Presenter 10 files (with the right company Serial Number for).

    When the package files have been filled - I run the Setup.exe as an administrator and it starts to move forward to install the progress bar cancels and the Setup program finishes. Tried using SCCM to deploy and the MSI returned error code is error 1603.

    FYI - using CCP1.5 and the x 64 package files to Presenter 10 and installation works very well under our Image Windows 7 x 64 (including SCCM) - but of course the add-on speaker do not work on MS PowerPoint as is the x 86 version of MS Office 2010.

    You mentioned that you have created the 32-bit package. Instead, you will need to create 64-bit for the 64 bit OS package, and then select the PresenterW32 folder as a support offline as shown in the steps of the bove.

  • Package files feature works in INDD CS6

    Last week, 'the package files' function INDD CS6 does not work for me.  I can bring up the dialog box, check the links, colors, and fonts as usual, but when I type 'package' - it is as if the command does not go through, and the task is not executed by the program.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled CS6 Design Standard and this problem still exists.  I am running CS6 on a PC.

    Help!  I have the need for the package files all the time and do it manually is not a viable long-term option.  Thanks to anyone who can help!

  • I have to install just Adobe presenter of this entire application. I created the package using AAMEE3.1

    I created the package using JOHN 3.1, using the source of Adobe eLearning Suite 6.1.

    During the creation of a Package I selected only Adobe Presenter 8. The package is serialized and also Adobe ID is here to connect. The package is created successfully. But when I run MSI it restorations during the Installation.

    I work with a custom device called PWM_Async_1. Customized, among other things, device library includes the file PWM_Async_1 RT pilot VI.vi. (1)

    To test a few things I've created different versions of (1) renamed PWM_Async_1 RT pilot VI.bak1, .bak2... So the PWM_Async_1 RT pilot VI.vi is still there.

    Now when I open Veristand I get this pop up:

    If I ignore it and deploy the custom device, it fails, saying that the RT pilot PWM_Async_1 VI.vi is missing... (Error 7). However, if you look in the PWM_Async_1 RT Engine.llb under C:\User\ etc... the "missing" file is there...

    What is going on?

    OK, here's what the problem was: at some point in my tests, I must have taken the RT pilot VI.vi out of the library, or renames... This made him disappear from the build properties file , hence the message don't not to find it.

    To restore the configuration in the build, make sure the RT driver file VI.vi is selected under Source files, and Source of the settings in the file. See below when they do.

  • "The system cannot find the specified file" error when you try to install a hotfix/cab package using the DISM tool Package Manager

    I'm testing the integrity of the addon ".cab" packages and patches by installing using the Package Manager (pkgmgr.exe), or alternatively, the Deployment Image Servicing and Management Tool (DISM.exe) for Windows 7.  To do this, I am aware that I have to call a tool through the command line.

    In the Package Manager, I use the syntax

    Command prompt > pkgmgr.exe /ip /m:C:\Test\test.cab

    Otherwise, I might add the path in quotes:

    "Command prompt > pkgmgr.exe /ip /m:"C:\Test\test.cab.

    The error returned in pkgmgr is:

    Operation failed with 0 x 80070002.  The system cannot find the specified file.

    My first impression was that my syntax is incorrect, although I can't have room for error.  The path points to "test.cab" which is a renamed windows addon that contains the necessary file "svcpack" and the file "entries_XX.ini".  I used several different ".cab" file, that which some I know to be genuine, hopefully exclude the possibility of a corrupted or incompatible file.  I also tried this procedure on different computers and received the same error code, so I doubt that the tool pkgmgr istelf is corrupt.

    Finally, I tried an alternative Windows 7/8 DISM tool to try to achieve essentially the same task by using the following syntax in a command prompt:

    "Commnand prompt > DISM.exe / Online /PackagePath:"C:\Test\test.cab Add-Package ".

    This produces a similar error:

    An error occurred trying to open it - C:\Test\test.cab error: 0 x 80070002
    Error: 2
    The system cannot find the specified file.
    The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

    I'm really not sure why I produce these errors.  Any idea is appreciated.
