2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

I ask through the following article to find out how to set up Parental controls:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/parental-controls

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/set-up-parental-controls

After completing the above links persist issue please fallow the mentioned below of the methods.

Method 1: Disable UAC (User Account Control) and check the result
    See http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-change-the-behavior-of-user-account-control-by-using-the-slider

Note: You must restart your computer when you enable or disable UAC. Change levels of notification does not require that you restart your computer.

Important: Enable UAC after you complete the steps.

Method 2: If the problem persists, try to set the parental control in safe mode and check the result. If you are able to apply settings in safe mode, this means that some program is causing this problem, mainly the security software.

Yes, your Nighthawk will still work as the DHCP server for the network and, therefore, point devices on the OpenDNS servers.

  • I set up the new user on my MacBook Pro with the parental control, and I want to allow access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint for Mac.  I have those checked in the dialog box list, but they may not appear in its applications. Am I missing something?

I set up a 'user' for my son and use parental controls.  I want to him to have access to Word for Mac, and it appears in the list of applications I can check to allow use for.  However, when we opened a session under his username, these applications do not seem to be anywhere.  When you configure new users, applications such as Word for Mac or the available Pages on users?  I can't find any information to help in this regard.  I don't know if I'm missing something under user put up, or parental controls, or both.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

These requests should be made available, provided you installed then in the folder/applications, not in a private folder ~/Applications for a specific user.

  • Why should I Windows 8 for the 30 minute increments in the parental control?

As a developer of software using languages and platforms of Microsoft, I understand how planning works in an application. Why should I upgrade to Windows 8 to get the opportunity to restrict access timed to a PC safe family 30 minutes increments? This is no logic, except if it is half cooked to inform users to upgrade. This is a feature I've wanted since we began using the parental control and I can only assume the developers actually do not use the product, they have created because it really shouldn't been missed for this long. It should also be a simple change in the code to check every 30 minutes instead of 60. Maybe the team of parental controls overlap or had their budget reduced to the point that they cannot make such a simple plus change. I understand, I am in the software. I know it's less than constructive but it's annoying to know different. It's annoying to 'upgrade' to 2012 Essentials see virtually no difference in the features. Your users are not YOU!

    Hi Emil,

We are happy to help with your concerns about the parental controls on your computer.
Parental control works only on a non-administrator account. First, you log on to your computer as an administrator. After this, please follow these steps to remove parental controls on your computer:
    1. If you set up Parental control by using the control panel
    a. click Start, type Parental controls, and then press ENTER.
    b. Select the user who is under parental control.
    c. Select disabled, and then click Ok.
    2. If you set up Parental controls with parental controls
    a. connect to http://familysafety.microsoft.com using the parent account.

    b. click Manage list of the members of the family.

    c. Select the child's account, and then click Remove. Click delete to confirm.

    d. open the parental controls on your computer client.

    e. on the upper right side of the parental control window, click the icon to get the latest settings from the Web site .

    f. you can also uninstall parental in case you do not have access to the account that is used to configure the settings. You can follow the steps in this link.

Please let us know if you need more information.

    Thank you!

  • need to know how to block the ophcrack from running, my child uses this to get my password and in the parental controls in vista

you want to know how to block the ophcrack from running, my child uses this to get my password and in the parental controls in vista. I have 3 accounts going 2 for children and one for the parents/administrator. I found ophcrack in several places on the computer. any help would be greatly appreciated

The only question the idea of Malkeleah, that is when you put a password on BIOS, all you need to do is pop the battery from the motherboard and the password is gone. Faronics has in some programs such as anti-executable and a few other programs that may block the name or ID of a process and prevent it from running (some antiviruses have that option, such as Avast, but usually is a pain in the ass to configure)

  • Help for the parental control on Vista administrator account

Computer of my son is running Vista and I set parental controls in place through the administrator account, there a nonadministrator account.

I changed the password after that we had a few problems with the controls, and now I want to change the settings again. However, the old password allows for parental control (IE, he allows his account access websites and bypass control, etc.), but when I try to access the administrator account, it says the old password does not work. When I enter the password, account says I don't have the login procedure and kicks back me to the main screen of Vista (where I take which account to enter).

So, I'm stuck administering the account due to a conflict in the parental control passwords. If I try to reset the password, the computer ask me a USB stick with the old password on it information. It is a step that I did not.

Any way to disable the administrator account? Or somehow remove/reset the parental control account access restrictions that I am experiencing?

"when I enter the parental control in the non-administrative account, the system simply ignores the password that I entered"

  • Which program to choose "Ask administrator for permission" on the Parental control

I am the administrator and I have parental controls installed on user accounts for my children.  When they fall on a blocked Web site, one of the options is "Ask an administrator for permission."  When they click on this link, a dialogue, a box pops up saying "this link must be opened with an application" and asked them to browse and choose an application.  What application they should choose?  Now they must remember Web site, sign out of their account, have log in as administrator, add it to the approved list on parental controls, while I log out and they can log on and access the Web site.  It's crazy, especially doing reports of schools who may need to use things like sites of weapons that would be otherwise blocked.

  • Problems with the parental control on the administrator account.

Never use us the 'administrator' account as I have not configured any other account (it was unnecessary since there are no children in the House).  Whenever I try to download a game, I have problems.  It will finish the download, but as soon as I try to start the game, it gives me an error message saying 'parental controls have prevented this application to run.  I don't know why it gives this error and won't let me in the game, since I'm on the administrator account and it wont let me make changes to parental controls for the administrator account.  Anyone know what is the problem and how can I solve this problem?  Thank you!!!

Try to create another administrator account, and then connect to that account and try to change or disable the parental control for the administrator account.  I don't know if it will work, but it's worth a try.

I hope this helps.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.

    Good luck!

  • Error message when you use the parental controls in Win7: "Unable to change parental controls."

    (1) I try to use the supplied with Windows 7 parent controls. However, every time I make a change to a parental control, I get an error message that says: "cannot change parental controls. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator. »

Often, once I have clear error message boxes, the changes I made are displayed as changed. Sometimes, however, they are not applied, making these useless parental controls.

    (2) I also have problems establishing parental control measures for one of my children. Whenever I try to open the parental controls for a user account, I get the same message, as described above, then the display returns to my administrator account and does not allow me to add parental controls or change them.

    (3) when he signed then, a message in the lower right corner indicates that it uses a 'temporary' account and that any changes he made will be saved. What is a temporary account, how it is created, and how it can be changed to a normal account?

    Hi Papa_Danno,

Thank you for keeping us posted.

If windows was pre installed on the computer, then you must contact the Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for the same. If the Windows 7 installation disc was purchased directly from then you can contact Microsoft directly.

  • Siri is disabled by the Parental control on macOS Sierra admin account

I just installed macOS Sierra today on my 13 "Mac Book Pro (early 2011). I have only one user account that is an administrator account. Siri is not enabled on my machine. When I go to the Siri system preferences screen, it says that "Siri is disabled by Parental control. Hmmm, when I check the Parental control screen, it says "you logged in using an administrator account." You can only apply parental controls to accounts that are not administrator accounts. »

    What happens here?

Same problem here. Updated for Sierra of El Capitan on MacBookPro 15 "(mid - 2014).

Even if I toggle the checkbox on the Parental control > others > disable Siri & dictation I can't activate Siri, the checkox is always gray and the alert says "Siri is disabled by Parental control.

Siri is enabled if I login as a burst, but I need it on my Admin account of course. Very annoying.
