The permissions of the shared folder on linux using kerberos hosts

I'm having a lot of trouble with permissions on a shared folder.

The root of the problem is that the uid/gid of the user of the host are different from those of the guest user. The guest user performs authentication kerberos and if their uid/guid appear not in/etc/passwd (do, obviously appear in getent passwd, but only later once kerberos and winbind began).

In other words, forcing the * home * uid t to be the same as the (possible) * comments * uid would not work.

What I need is:

1. to remove the/mnt/hgfs after kerberos has started and then replace with the correct uid/gid obtained from kerberos.

But I can't do it because a kernel mismatch won't allow me to mount hgfs actions (device not recognized)

If someone knows a solution I'd be glad to hear that this would solve the problem very easily

OR

2 force the mount initial hgfs at boot time using a certain uid/gid (these are fixed for a given machine)

I have looked everywhere but could not find a config file that would allow me to do.

Is this one? Where can I find it?

Thank you very much.

I fixed that by removing the part and the remouting with:

vmhgfs-fuse .host: / $MOUNTPOINT o auto_unmount, uid = $UID, gid = $GID

  • We can export runing DB oracle on linux backup file to the shared folder windows directly?

    Hi friends;

We can export runing oracle DB on linux backup to windows shared folder file directly using exp utility (using the user exp = aaaa file=\\10.10.10.xx\backupfolder...)

    concerning

If you use "exp", you could use an installation of the Oracle Client (which has included in it exp) on Windows and connect to the network (using an LMO connection string) to the database on the Linux server.  This way, the dump file is created by Windows exp.

Otherwise, if you don't know how to mount your Windows file system to Linux (I have not), you can run Linux exp.

  • CANNOT write to files in the shared folder of XP on a PC running windows 7 - but good vice versa

I have a laptop under Windows 7 (SP1) and a desktop running XP (SP3).  I have connected both via a wireless network. While I can see and access shared files/folders from one computer to the other computer, I can only read/write files in the shared folder on the portable computer that is running Windows 7.

If I try and change a file in the shared folder from the PC under XP on my laptop, I get the message "this file is set to read-only. Try again with a different name "."  I know that the file is NOT checked for read-only. When I change the name of the file I get the error message "\\Desktop\SharedDocs\filename.doc you are not allowed to save in this location. Contact the administrator for approval.  You want to save in the folder my documents instead? "If I save the file to another location on the laptop under Win7 it save then OK.  I can not just save a modified version of the file in the same shared folder from desktop running XP.
It seems that it must be something to do with permissions and access to the parameters of the desktop running XP but I can not find these. Fairly easy to find in Windows 7.
Finally, I don't have a login/password set for the connection to the computer to Office XP.  I don't have a user name and password for the laptop Win7 but you have turned off password protected sharing.
Anyone have a solution to this?
    Thank you

OK - the problem is now resolved.

I noticed that the read-only for the shared folder has been checked. When I unchecked it and also checked the box "allow network users to change my files" in the shared folder properties/sharing, I was able to modify and save files in the shared folder on my laptop.
It's a little weird because I thought I had done this the other day where the results have been less successful.  Strange.
    Thanks for your help.

  • I want to prevent the use of the login and password of CentOS 6.5 to the shared folder Windows 7

Recently, I lost my hard drive Windows 7 Pro to crash and had to rebuild the laptop from scratch. I have set up the laptop to share files on the local network with XP, Vista, and CentOS 6.5 PC. The file sharing (without need of login/password) with all PC work with one exception.

When you use the 'of' the CentOS PC file manager to access the shared folder on Windows 7, I am invited with login/domain/password popup box. I enter the credentials and everything works well. And I have to do it once. The same user name exists on all PCs. But I think the connections via file sharing simply under "guest" or "annonimus. The race of Samba (SMB) of the computer of CentOS version is version 3.6.9. I have tried so many combinations of solutions and none seem to work. See the list below:

    Windows:
    Edit local security policies
Remove the TransportBindName (then add back)
Set UseNewSmb = 0, then returns to 1

    Samba:
security = share and then I tried security = user
client NTLMv2 auth = Yes and return to no.
NTLM auth = none and return to Yes

I am hoping there is a configuration that will prvent the annoying popup login/password.

  • Sync Center gets stuck saying "pending sync", never synchronizes the files on the shared folder offline

    Hello

I have a laptop (Compaq 8440) running Windows Vista Enterprise (not yet upgraded to SP1).  I have a shared folder mapped to the N: drive on my laptop.  This shared folder is located on a computer on my home network.  Every day, I move my laptop between my home network (wireless) and my work network (cable intranet).

I scored a subfolder in the shared folder available offline.  It worked for about two weeks, but now when I try to synchronize with the shared folder offline files, Sync Center has constantly "waiting for synchronization" status  He never goes out with synchronization, regardless how long wait.

I tried clicking "stop"button in Sync Center, but this does not prevent the synchronization.  I do not see error messages or the situation in Sync Center.

I tried to restart the laptop, but nothing helped.  I tried to disable/reactivate the wireless connection, but nothing helped.  I can connect to the shared folder and discovers the other directories that are not 'available offline", is not a connectivity problem.

    Thank you

  • _Capture image questions HPDM4.5 SP4 (Errorcode-400 could not connect to the shared folder)

Hi, hope someone can help me.

    I'm under HPDM 4.5 SP4 on a member of the domain Windows 2008R2 SP1 x 64 server.

I try to use the model "_Capture Image" on a light field customer non-member HP T610 (Agent version: 4.5.3360.18502, version of the device: 6.1.7601.286)

Configured the master repository, used Filezilla server and did a test on the FTP and the Shared folder.

    FTP path: ftp: / //hpdm ("C:\Inetpub\Ftproot\HPDM")

Path of the shared folder: ------\hpdm

Bin play with the settings and read this for a day, but no mather what I try, whenever I use the model I get: ErrorCode:-400 could not connect to the shared folder.

Edit: when I run the model, I see a folder created in "C:\Inetpub\Ftproot\HPDM\Repository\Images\test1_1", but the HP Imaging tool displays some time: set up the share folder. Finally the error task and the test1_1 folder is deleted.

    Please advice

Hello to all you readers looking for the answer to this...

@ jeff_x thank you for your response.

    1. all units has no (I tried 5)

    2. now 4.5.3660.16798 running and it works

    3. all thin clients running DHCP

    4. all thin clients and server hp - manager already running in a serparate network.

But the solution was simple. Had to delete all software HPDM

    Fact Download Manager-cutting (sp60327.exe) HPDM and HPDM SP4 (sp64049) < at="" max="" 200kb/s=""> >

Installed from scratch and configured the master repository with:

Name of the repository: master repository

    Server address:

FTP (FileZilla Server, created a user 'anonymous' without password, shared the folder c:\inetpub\ftproot\hpdm to this user and pressed the button "set as home dir")

    User name: anonymous

    Password: (blank)

    Path: simply put ' / '.

    Protocol of shared folder settings

User name: \user (created a local user for this purpose and placed it in the local administrator group: Administrators)

Password: (what you do to the top when you created this account)

    Path: just put in "hpdm.

Hit test and see if it worked for you. BTW, the test button is not the Holy Grail.

  • Cannot write to the shared folder in secure workspace

    Hello

I'm working on an application that writes to a debug log file in the shared documents folder. I use blackberry.io to get the path of the file as follows

    fs.root.getFile(blackberry.io.shared + '/documents/debug.txt', {create: true}, this._handleFileRead, this._handleError);

Make sure I have "unsandbox" first by going to: blackberry.io.sandbox = false; According to the API.

When I deploy the application on personal space, it works very well. When I deploy the application through the BES10 to the workspace and then I get a NO_MODIFICATION_ALLOWED_ERR trying to get/create the file...

Note: If I try to create the file in my sandbox it works well in both areas.

    Hi Georgechr,

The error message indicates that your application doesn't have write access to the shared directory.

FYI, the shared folder of the workspace is located here:

    Accounts/1000-Enterprise/Shared

While the shared personal folder is located here:

    / accounts/1000/shared

First, we will ensure that blackberry.io.shared actually point to the shared folder of the workspace. Print (console.log ()) its results and attach to your response.

An application which is installed within the perimeter of work can store data in the work and personal spaces as long as the following it policy is the value allow on BES:

Security-> App work access to the personal data

  • Moving the Outlook Express Store folder to the shared folder of VMWare

I am running Windows XP under Fusion 5.0.2 on my iMac running OS 10.8.2.  I want to move Outlook Express folder my wife of storage in VMware's shared folder so that its records are included in backups Time Machine.  Unfortunately, as soon as I select the VMware folder in the navigation under Tools > Options > Maintenance > store folder, the OK button will gray preventing selection.

I originally moved the storage folder of OE out of its usual location on the virtual C drive on an external disk to keep data staff internal hard drive in the iMac. I created a file of commands using XXCOPY for saving these files to another external hard drive, but it does not provide a backup of the version; that is, if inadvertently, I save a damaged file, I have two copies of the corrupted file and no good copy to return.  (Fortunately, I also do a weekly backup on another external drive that I keep off site, which saved me from disaster recently.)

I exclude the virtual machine (.vmwarevm) all backups TM to go back to the storage of OE on the virtual C drive folder would not solve my problem.

I decided that the usefulness of TM outweighs the risk of having some personal data on the internal hard drive and transferred all my other files in the share folder VMware, that works very well to keep my files, they are created in Windows or on the host, in a place and keeping them supported by TM.

I guess not being not able to move the OE store folder to the shared folder of VMware is a limitation of Windows, but does anyone know a way around?

It's doable, even if you manually change the "Store Root" key in the Windows registry to point to the network location while OE is closed.

See the image below for example, although it is worth noting that the path between the {} will be different for each user.

  • How to record a specific dashboard in the shared folder

    Hello developers,
I'm sorry that I'm still new in OBIEE, so I just created a new dashboard. How can I save to the shared folder so that someone else can see...

Somehow I do not see the "save or save as icons" while watching my dashboard...

    Help, please.

    THX

You have already created a dashboard and you want to save it somewhere else? While you look at the dashboard, click the Page Options button in the upper right of the page (the icon looks like 3 points of the little ball). In the drop-down menu resulting, choose "Edit dashboard".

On the screen change the dashboard, you can make a record or record under using two icons "floppy" in the top right of the page. Save anywhere, under shared folders so that it is visible by others.

  • Move the Dashboard under "My dashboard" to the shared folder

    Hello

I created a few Dashboard under "My dashboard", which became completely private IE, they are not accessible to the

any other user. Now, the requirement is to know how to get the dashboard public or available to other users. Please let me know any suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

    Scott

You can use Catalog Manager (directly from the web client with the administration panel) to copy the dasboard objects in shared folders.

The dasboard object are located in the hidden directory 'portal' to the webcatalogs. So the shared folder also has a set of hidden objects "portal." Just copy the folder of your dashboard in it.

Then, copy (or "Save as") each report in the shared folders.
Now, that's the bad part: you must replace each report in the your dashboard pages.

That is why, for the future, do not use your "my account" if you're supposed to share reports and dashboard. Directly create them in shared folders, use the * "rights management *" whether to grant access to other users. It will save you a lot of time and effort.

Reports are easy to move, but the dashboard is more complicated, because dashboard pages refer to other objects.
