  I would normally not more than 20-30 minutes to complete the recovery. The progress indicator should show a steady increase up to 50%, after which it should invite you to insert the second disk.

  It is possible that you laptop has problems to write to the hard disk. You can check this by listening to a sound of rattling repeated during the restore process. It is also possible that your CD is having problems reading the recovery disks. Check them for dirt scratches or fingerprints.

  I can not connect as a domain user with restored VM. Unfortunately, I do not know the password for the local administrator for this virtual machine because I used my domain administrator account to manage. We use with ESX 3.5 Update 4 and vRangerPro as backup software.

  I don't know if I did something wrong before the restore process. I've actually removed the bad inventory VM and then run Restore in vRangerPro. (VM was not bad, but it contains the corrupted database and application so I decided I want to put some time if I restore VM containing the good vesion of db/app rather than file level restoration and reconfiguration later).

  I was able to restore VM with success, but I am not able to connect using my domain account. I got the error message saying something like a domain isn't available or computer account is not known... I thought that I would be able to connect to VM restored in the same way that I was able to connect to the original sound, but sounds like something has changed after the restore process. I compared the content of files .vmx restored VM and original sound that initially, I removed from the inventory. Both vmx files are identical. I can see this VM in Active Directory, run the command manage but whenever I try to access remotely, log events or any other control I got access denied message.

  Did anyone had similar problem? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

  AppleHFS.sys/AppleMNT.sys are used to allow access to filesystems OSX JHFS +. Restoring Windows on Mac backups can be painful. If you have already fresh install of W7 on the internal drive, try the restore without installing any driver BC. Please be aware that such a restore is not aware of the partitions on your internal drive and can erase your internal drive.
