After that that he has been detected and deleted my computer did not work well. the virus program had deleted some files from XP to base when he got rid of the virus. I tried to repair windows with the XP cd, but my HARD drive freeze. Well I ended up getting a new HARD drive and I full format before installing windows xp. XP installed fine and I then progressed in the installation of all the drivers that came with my computer, when it was new, which was about 15 CD. Well now, I have more problems. my screen is HUGE and I am unable to change the screen meanless and IE crashes after opening. until I reinstalled windows, I took my wireless card and reinstalled after installing windows. It shows that I have a good internet connection, but it still crashes. can anyone help. my XP cd has SP2 on it.

You want to get your computer up to date. You can get SP3 from here and there are more than 100 + updates after the SP.

  • Portege R100: The screen goes black after installing SP2

    Hello
Currently, I tried to install SP2 for my laptop (Windows XP pro) R100. The end of the installation procedure I restarted the system, as requested. The windows logo appeared, then the screen went black and the only thing I could see was the mouse cursor.

After several reboots, the situation did not do better. I tried to go on safe mode, but I had the same (only this time the black backround was typical registration of safe mode on the sides). I will perform a system restore without having to install SP2, but the fact that I am on a DSL connection most of the time very important SP2 installation.

I would appreciate any solution to this problem.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hello

As far as I know sometimes a few utilities and drivers must be updated after installation of the service pack 2 Microsoft.
On the Toshiba driver page I found a backgrounder update of Microsoft Windows XP SP2 that contains a few s information about the utilities that must be updated.

However, additional I found a lot of new drivers for R100.
I think you should also try to update the old drivers as driver utility and the graphics card chipset.
    Eventually, it helps.

  • How can I exit the screen to 'Customize' after that I changed my layout?

After clicking on the button customize in the new menu (with a +), I can't get out of the Customization screen. By clicking on "Customize" once again (this time rating points in green with a check mark next to it) will not end the Customization screen.

OK... got it fixed. One of the reasons why I was so resistant from scratch was that I had all my settings exactly as I loved them, all the extensions installed, I needed and wanted. BUT I ended up using MozBackup to set up my FF browser to work exactly the same way, since the Sync thing doesn't seem to work for some reason any. Then dropped in my Inbox of filing and after the update, I noticed the custom button worked flawlessly. So today, I tried something.

    (1) I dragged and dropped the profile with all folder this is the content of the bag on my desk
    (2) delete the profile configuration file that lives just outside the profile folder (this is the location of the AppData folder)
    (3) restarted FF to have create a new profile folder
    (4) close FF
    (5) slip and fall just the extensions folder bookmarkbackups records and any folder which belonged to them, also cookies.sqlite, formhistory.sqlite, signons.sqlite, storage, weave and jetpack in the newly created profile folder.
    (6) restarted FF and tried the Customize button. It worked. But then I have OK permission to install the extensions, but found it easier to just say yes to each of them and then the last one who had a FF restart I need I hit that and let it restart.

Customize is fixed, my browser is good. Bookmarks synchronization is finally loading in bookmarks. While everything is done too.

Question... What is the name of the file for bookmarks? Is it always stored in the AppData > Mozilla >... Profile folder or is it kept somewhere else now? I certainly don't see the former or the new profile folder!

    Thank you!

  • Formatting the HARD drive before doing a clean install.

I will do a clean install with my windows Visa but first told me to format my hard drive. Is that when you go to computer management > disk management, but then I have no idea what to do? It says Disk 0, and then Compaq and recovery. Laughing out loud.

Thanks for your reply :) So basically I am following the steps in cleaning a compromised system, because that's what another MVP said that my problems with Windows updates and so on were probably the effects of a hijackware infection. It said to format my hard drive and then do a clean install of Vista,

I do not know you said that, but it is wrong or you
misunderstood him. When you perform a new installation, you start from the
Windows DVD, then follow the prompts. It starts by formatting the drive
for you, then there is no need to do first.

and since my system did not come with the CD of Vista from the window I have to do by the Compaq recovery Partition.

And if you do that, it also begins by formatting the drive for
    you.

And by the way, your system is almost certainly with instructions on
How to burn this on a DVD recovery partition and you should
certainly doing this before you start. You don't want to wipe that
partition without burning to a DVD first.

I don't know exactly what I should do when it said to format my hard drive. It won't replace anything, which means getting rid of the previous things?

Yes, it deletes everything on the disc. So make sure that, before
from, save you on external support all important files for you.

Because I don't want to do a clean install, then update all and then see my computer is still messed up.

That's highly unlikely. But (and this is a big but) If you had "dirtied".
to the top"by something you did, there is a good chance that you will make the
same thing again and get 'messed up' all over again. It is one of
the main reasons according to formatting and reinstalling Windows is
usually a bad approach to solving a problem; It is best to find
This is what the problem is, and what it, so that you don't make the
    same thing in the future.

One last point: after the new installation, you will need to
Restore the backup that you made your files and reinstall all your
    applications of their original medium.

    Hello guys!

As described in the topic, the display backlight remains always off when my PT225E z830 returns from sleep mode. It's the only backlight, because I can see the image weakly if I have the screen against a light. Also using FN + F7 does not alter this State. The only thing that works is to restart.

Y at - it an update of the display driver? Or is there any workaround to get back the backlight of the screen?
Moreover, the bios is up-to-date with the version v1.60.

    Hello.

Can anyone adivse if they have encountered this problem before. After you start the system and worked on the laptop for a few minutes, the screen turns white as if the system is in standby mode. The only way to put it back on is by pressing the power button and everything continues normally until the problem reoccur.

I have been informed that there may be a button faulty hibernation cela but surely you would say on the screen if the machine was going into hibernation with the usual calendar bar? And the fact that the screen turns back on as soon as you press the button shows his vigil no hibernation.

Any adviser who can offer are welcome. If you need more information about the problem please let me know.

    Thank you very much

    Hi Paul,.

If it is just the screen becomes black, but everything else seems to work fine, so I think that your FL inverter may be defective. This is the device that provides the lighting of the screen.

I suggest that you only contact your nearest ASP for further diagnosis.

    Hello

Recently, I uninstalled windows 7 ultimate and installed Windows Vista (32 bit) , because my laptop was /hangig of blocking in Windows 7.Now my laptop runs smoothly, but when I play the vedios on my system through Windows media player / K-Lite player, the vedios fading little. The same problem that goes on when I watch Youtube vedios or photos even... This was not happening on my previous windows... I installed all the drivers in my Device Manager shows no warning...

The adopter of my screen is AMD RADEON HD 6480 G and sound have been updated...

kindly tell me what I need to do

    Hello:

In the Device Manager in the category graphics cards is the AMD RADEON HD 6480 listed G graphic card, or is that just an adapter VGA Standard listed there.

If there is an adapter VGA Standard listed there that means you need to install the graphics driver AMD for Windows Vista.

If the graphics card Radeon HD is listed under the category of display device manager cards, then the only suggestion I can offer would be to download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player and see if that helps any.
