photos wont save as jpeg format bmp only

my computer has stopped giving the option to save images in jpeg format (even if the image is jpeg) and don't give the opportunity to save in bmp format, as far as I know, nothing has changed on the computer. I noticed one thing is when you go to download the photo, there more nothing in file name (where most JPEG files even if only a number), and then save as type don't have bmp (even if the status bar indicates it is a JPEG and gives you the file name?) does anyone know what is happening?

A last suggestion. If this does not work, I am ideas.

Create a new account with the same privileges as this one.
Logon to this new account. You have the same problem?
So no problem, then I would assume that the other account is corrupted.

How to fix a corrupted user account:

Note: You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.

  • Photoshop CC is Desaturate photos when you save in jpeg format

    Hello

    I have a small problem here with photoshop CC, it has only begun to have occurred recently.

    I work with Raw files, using the camera raw on photoshop sick CC filter. Edit the file and it will come out as I want in photoshop. If I save it as a .psd file no problem, photography

    retains its color. However, if I save it in jpeg format, the colors of the photos become desaturated.

    as far as I can see its a problem with saving the file, such as the photo seems fine in photoshop when your finished collage, but when you save and reopen, the colors were reversed just a little.

    The only solution I found to this day because it is to complete the photo in camera raw, let it reopen in PS, copy the entire photo (select all, ctrl + C), start a new spreadsheet (think that's what they say, no upward with my PS jargon, basically to press ctrl + n) and

    Set the color depth of 16 bit (its default 8 bits). This will also change the Adobe RGB color profile to "working RBG: sRGB" for the new worksheet. When I paste my picture in there (ctrl + v) and save the file as a jpeg, it

    keep the color as he went out the raw from the camera filter.

    How can I fix it so I cannot use the workaround every time?

    I got a quick shot through the settings/preferences, but did not spot something that I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

    any thoughts?

    I would point out that it worked very well for me until the end of last week, I changed a few settings, but I have no idea what.

    To conclude, the desaturation has nothing to do with it.

    It happens because your jpeg is saved in Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB. Photoshop that will display correctly, but you look at the jpeg format in another application that has no color management and does not include these profiles.

    Always open as ACR sRGB, or convert it to sRGB in Photoshop, if the file should be displayed in applications that are not managing colors (which is most of them).

  • Definition of DPI when you save in JPEG format

    Hello

    Periodically convert us batches of Adobe Illustrator files in JPEG format in various sizes and resolutions, after making a few adjustments for them.

    Our old process for this cause change the image from Illustrator, saving a new file HAVE, then using ImageMagick with a variety of options to control the output.

    Since then, we have converted most of this option to use a JSX JavaScript program to perform the conversion in Illustrator, using the SDK exportFile method.  This works for most and is much faster than before.

    The thing we've done with ImageMagick we can not quite figure out how to do from Illustrator is set the DPI of the JPEG image.  Here's what we do in ImageMagick:

    converted - density $infile 400-resample resize 300-2500 x 2500 - space color RGB $outfile

    The options are fairly self-explanatory, but there are many more details in the ImageMagick command line reference.

    Tips on how to do the same since the SDK of the Illustrator?

    Thank you!

    -Scott.

    Documentation of Illustrator for Java Script contains the answer that is available from:

    http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/Illustrator/scripting/

    HorizontalScale and verticalScale properties determine the resolution. 100 by default would make the artboard at 72 DPI (default), 200 would make at 144 DPI.

    The example below would export to a 144 DPI JPEG. The example is taken from the Java Scripting guide, and I just changed the horizontalScale and verticalScale properties (appearing on the previous page).

    Export current document to dest in JPEG format with specified
    options, dest contains the full path, including the file name
    function exportFileToJPEG (dest) {}
    If (app.documents.length > 0) {}
    var exportOptions = new ExportOptionsJPEG();
    var type = ExportType.JPEG;
    fileSpec var = new File (dest);

    exportOptions.horizontalScale = 200;

    exportOptions.verticalScale = 200;
    exportOptions.antiAliasing = false;
    exportOptions.qualitySetting = 70;
    app.activeDocument.exportFile (fileSpec, exportOptions type);
    }
    }

    Note that Aaron is correct, it is actually off-topic for the SDK and on the subject in the forum script.

  • CS4-no update is not allowing me to save in Jpeg format!

    I've just updated photoshop 11.0.1 - and now when I go to "Save as" jpeg is not listed as an option? !!!

    If anyone else has noticed this? What is the solutution?

    Thank you!

    Ellen

    Ellen,

    You're done in the first and not the Photoshop forum.

    Still, let's see if we can resolve it for you. First of all, check your Mode. You want 8-bit and 16-bit not. Then check your color Mode. You want RGB and not one of the indexed Modes.

    If you have layers, use either flatten first (I would also delete paths and Alpha channels), or Save_For_Web, to strip and flatten multilayer image automatically.

    Good luck

  • Is it possible to scan a postcard to save in JPEG format instead of PDF file?

    I have a Canon MG2220 all in one printer with Windows 7 and IE11. Whenever I scan something it is parsed as a PDF document. That is the only way that that will save a scan. If I scan a photo postcard can I scan or save it as a JPEG?

    I use the Quick Menu of Canon and the option "placed Scan photos or documents with automatic detection. Choose the first option "open the scan settings to change settings?

    If you check the box at the intersection of the 'L' (its an icon of a computer screen) you get the capabitlity to adjust your settings. Select scan settings.

  • Cannot save a big TIFF 16-bit RGB Image in JPEG format

    Hi all

    I use Photoshop CS5 Extended on Windows 7 64 bit (Home Premium).

    I sewed a panorama in Photoshop using the fusion of 19 RAW (Canon 5 d mkII) files in 16-bit. Everything was fine, I saved the image merged under TIFF 16 and worked on it. Panoramic image resolution is approximately 33000 x 4900. Place the flattened selections and active left.

    Once I was happy, I ran the Image processor on it with a watermark action and add the copyright EXIF data. There is no need to say that it cannot save in JPEG format (he performed the action correctly, just stopped to save). Normally, this works very well with other images RGB TIFF 16 I did.

    I tried to save it manually, but at this time, I noticed that the "Save for web" option is grayed out and the dialog box "save under" showed no JPEG options.

    What I did:

    1.) tried to open it with ACR and save it in JPEG format. It worked well

    2.) tried to resize to 20000 x 3600 (more or less) and it worked fine (which means that the option to save it as a JPEG back where it)

    3.) tried to convert it to full-size 8-bit and who did not

    I'm not too bothered because I have the solution of ACR, but it's boring and in the past, I've done more large panoramas with CS4 and I never had this problem before.

    Any ideas?

    The image is nearly 1 GB, so I'll not post...

    Thanks for your help!

    The CAB code has a limit of 64 k according to the width and height of JPEG files.

    The Photoshop code has a 32 KB limit, because of the old code for JPEG.

  • Recording raw to JPEG format

    I am running windows 7.  I installed elements 8 a few months ago and all worked well.  Two days ago I just changed a few photos and the ability to save in jpeg format was no longer there. I tried to re - install the software but I can not even save it as a jpeg file.  I installed the software on an old desktop running Windows XP and the ability to save in jpeg format is here.  All the solutions for windows 7?

    Chances are that when you finished the treatment in ACR you left the image in 16-bit mode when it has been opened in the editor for the economy.  JPEG is a format of 8 bits only, so it is not listed as an option.  If that's the case then convert the image to 8-bit (Image > Mode) and then you should be able to save it in JPEG format.

    BTW: JPEG is not compatible either layers.

    Hello Ann,.

    If you took the photo clips to bitmap format, it will not give you the jpeg format. Only bitmap format will be available.

    You can change the file format of bitmap to JPEG in the iPhone settings. Later, check to see if the problem persists.

    Hope the helps of information.

  • How to save in JPEG

    I had no problem up to present and no idea of how to fix.  I have a MAC OSX.  When I take a photo in PS CS4 and save of hits I'm more able to choose JPEG because it isn't one of the choices.  I noticed that on the screen ON SAVE by the format drop-down LAYERS of Word is not available click on and I'm sure that's what must be corrected.  Another user on my MAC doesn't have this problem with the bridge and the layers of Word is checked.   Your help is appreciated, thanks!

    Make sure the mode is 8 bits

    PS go to the menu Image / Mode and see if there is a check mark in front of 16 bits, if yes, click on 8-bit and it will convert to 8-bit and you should be able to save in jpeg format.

    How can I convert .ai files in jpeg format?  It seems that I am only able to get the .ai files and my Adobe Photo Elements program does not recognize the file.

    I want to continue my membership with Adobe, however, not if it requires some additional software purchase.

    For .ai files, you will need to use or know someone who uses Illustrator or another program compatible .ai to convert. If you access a page of image details before license you can see the file type.

    How can I adjust to save pictures in JPEG format again?

    Hello

    You took your pictures as Live Photos (it is enabled by default), which combine a photo with a short video of the moments just before and just after that photo was taken, with audio included.

    Live Photo is enabled by default. To activate or deactivate, press the Live pictures of the camera on your iPhone app (yellow lights):

    For existing photos, to only import the photo part yet to your Mac running an earlier version of Mac OS X, connect your iPhone to your computer, open the image transfer application and only import the jpg for each photo.
