  I had this external hard drive installed successfully since 10/24/11.  I formatted it the other day and now when I try and open the dialog box reads this file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. Go to properties under tools and attempt to error check it says: the disk check cannot be performed because Windows cannot access the disk. I tried restoring the system in October and that the help does not work . I used the Troubleshoot utility in the Control Panel on the hardware and devices. No luck.  I have a disc repair system created on 18-06-10, but I don't know if I should use?
