  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (x 64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601).  My history of update said that everything has been installed.

  The tilde / single quote left-button (just below ESC on my keyboard) does not work in my regular profile - won't work in any program at all.

  But it works in the other profiles that I put in place.

  I tried three keyboards; It is not the keyboard.  I tried both wireless and USB.

  I tried to remove the device drivers by using Device Manager, and then restart.  Did not help.

  1. I tried to use the instructions in the link you provided 'fix a corrupted user profile' which specifically stated that the profile contains settings "funds of screen, screen savers, pointer preferences, sound settings and other features" would be transferred to my new profile if I followed the instructions.  However, none of my desktop settings imported into the new profile, such as the wallpaper, the items on my desk and the changes in my menu start.  So, I tried a different approach (described below) first and foremost try to rebuild my profile.

  2. at the end of the day, I found the problem, it's * not * a corrupt user profile. The problem was a setting in the control panel / region and languages / keyboards and languages.  (I went to this setting as a general search on the internet revealed that the community of players has had some problems with the tilde/grave key.)

  Under the button 'Change keyboard', I did the following.

  one) by the suggestion players, under 'Général' community, removed keyboard "Us - International", leaving only "keyboard = US" and "Other = Correction of ink" (this last I learned is for my tablet of entry).  This change has not fixed my problem himself, even after a reboot.  But I left it like that.   The problem is that the application and or the installer is smart enough to deal with a deviation from the default Windows special folder and is not really a matter of the merger itself.  In other words, you'd have the same problem on a Machine in the My Documents folder has been redirected to a network resource, as may be common in work environments, if this is more a drawback of Windows that you are using and Windowsou Windows itself and not Fusion product.

  In Edit-> transform-> scale, when I take a corner and then hold down the SHIFT key, it does NOT impose the proportions.  I had to fix these by eye.

  You can still (even after dragging corner handles) use Maintain aspect ratio of the options bar. Simply click on the channel icon in the options bar before validating the transformation.

  Sometimes when I press the shift key it wonder if I want to shut down the computer. It also changes the internet Explorer mode in full screen. When it arrives it will be continually for centuries and then suddenly stop. Then start again. It seems not to happen at any given time. I disabled the hot key in the Toshiba utility and which comes to the top of the Tower stops when I pressed the SHIFT key, it does not give me the option.
  It's really annoys me because I can't just think what to do.

  It's very strange. It is the first time I heard about this issue.
  As much as I know the Toshiba utility cannot add additional functions to shift and make this key as a stop button.
  I have gift? don't know if you have installed the 3rd party applications that can change the keyboard feature, but you should check this possibility.

  In addition can also be a defective hardware. Maybe something wrong with the keyboard controller. But of course the diagnostic test is necessary.

  To me that sounds more like a keyboard failure, I can't imagine that it could be linked to the question of the windows operating system do you have tested an external USB keyboard.

  Please test this. In this case, you can check if it s really a software problem.
  If the USB keyboard works correctly, it means that your internal keyboard is malfunctioning.

  I'll put up a laboratory of small kiosk for my students with a minimum account privs.  Sometimes I need to login with the administrator account to perform regular maintenance or solve a problem.  in xp, all I had to do was hold down the SHIFT key before the blue startup screen and all accounts (including my admin account) were visible.  This doesn't seem to work with vista.  is there a secret combo of keyboard shortcuts?  What should I do to ensure that both accounts visible?

  Follow this step in order to bypass the automatic connection in vista.

  1. Click Start and type netplwiz in the start search box and press ENTER.
  2. check the users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
  3. click on apply and OK.

  Upgrade from Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit window Ult 64 bit. Line of keyboard under func keys works not just if online using Windows Explorer, Firefox Safari n - numbers don't work - some type; other type letter k; with the SHIFT key, signs and symbols, type anything. I can get the numbers of t using my keypad and numlock. I have tried 3 keyboards.  One was a Microsoft USB 4000 ergonomic keyboard brand new and it had the same problems.  My keyboard USB wireless transmitter had the problem too.  All have the same problem. The keys are correct by using Word, Wordpad, etc.. Quick test repetition key online as well as the keys were all ok then.

  This started happening immediately after I upgraded to windows 7 ultimate.  I use a desktop HP Pavilion a6667c with 8 GB of RAM and the latest updates available for windows ultimate.   The problem occurred before and after the upgrade to service pack 1.   I noticed other people on the web posting on this problem too.    I got no error message when using Vista Home Premium 64-bit version and had installed all the latest updates him as well.

  The only solution I found to this problem is to build me a small table of characters and symbols, I can't do it, and sticking them in when I am online using one of the three browsers I use most often.   I looked at my keyboard settings and changed back and forth between American and British English British without any result.

  I'll post my problem of keyboard on HP forums as well.   Thanks for any help anyone can give me or leads.   Somewhere, I think that it is a simple problem to solve, but I searched and searched and browsed and traveled for several days to find a lot of people who have this type of keyboard problem, but no solution yet.

  I was able to solve the problem on my computer Microsoft Vista but uninstalling constant guard I had downloaded and installed with free Norton from Comcast. I got this tip on another thread and after followinging their advice, I was free to use my line of numbers/symbols of the keys even once! I was able to close my copy of the email and the character or symbol and the last sheet in Word.

  I am trying to add seats and circle shapes to a Captivate 8 project.

  Until I click to draw the shape, I hold down the SHIFT key to constrain the proportions. Captivate draw me an oval or rectangle all the same.

  Error test I tried:

  1. You attempt to add a square in PowerPoint to now SHIFT work (so not a hardware issue?)
  2. Resizing my dratted rectangles and ovals to now SHIFT in Captivate forced the proportions, but not to a shape, I need!
  3. Now SHIFT while resizing of images also forced the proportions.
  4. The same error occurs also in my copy of Captivate 7?

  I'm completely stumped. I know it's the basic function, but it is vital for me to be able to create a team available. Is it simply not possible to draw from the "perfect" square and circles in Captivate?

  Look no further, Captivate doesn't have that 'basic' feature at all. Sign in please, apply. Apparently only few users is absent, because it has never been on the priority list. I've been this logging for all versions from 5... but without success. And don't forget: I think it's really an essential feature. Work to MOVE when you want to maintain the proportions, is not to draw a circle or a square. You must change the size by using the properties, and it takes a lot of clicks, certainly in CP8.

• I had a HP with XP Media Edition on this, got angry and destroyed someday drive hard, but always have the key, the key will work on another form of XP?

  As I said, I always have the key for it. But does not know if the key will work on just a normal copy of Windows XP? Also cannot find a download of XP? Guess that's what happens when you wait 17 years to ask about it.

  If your computer was HP and it came with this version of Windows installed, then you probably have an OEM of Windows version.  An OEM key does not work for a retail install the version of Windows.  To reinstall Windows without owning a set of install CD/DVD from HP, you will need to contact HP for help as they regulate the licenses Windows installed on their products.
