  I bought a HP Envy 17 Notebook computer Touchsmart m7-j120dx today. It has a brick of power with a removable power cord between the power brick and the wall. The end enter the power brick has three circular rubber pins which are part of the power brick. I have an old power cord that I bought in Europe with the same type three circular rubber forks that fit into an old brick of power for a laptop disappeared. The other end that fits into the wall has obviously a European plug. Can I use the former European power cable with this new HP power brick and safetly use to power my new HP Envy 17 Notebook computer Touchsmart m7-j120dx? The European power cable was purchased at the Denmark in a general store in computer science. It is not an HP product and was not specific to my old power brick or an old laptop - he simply adapt and worked. My guess is that the old European cord will work with the new HP power brick.   Your question gave me a chance to look at my laptop at home now. %0% of them use 2. 5A - 240V cords others use a 5, 7. 5a and 10 to the cords. I also turned my HP Envy 17 t loan charger and requires 1.5 a entry. What I see: 2.5 a input cord 1. 5A charger is ok.

  If the instructions that you need a cable then you need a cable. On several printers now, you don't need USB cable for Setup (that's why many boxes do not have) and you can run the installation on your computer or a button on the printer.

• The battery status icon does not display the symbol of the AC power cord when the laptop is running on the current and recharge

A few years after an update of Windows, the status of battery in the systray ICON ceased to display the amount of time left on the battery and it stopped display the symbol of the AC power cord when it was being turned off of the AC adapter.  If I remove the battery, then the cord appears.  Put it back in the slot and the rope faints and I have the same shape of rectangle get you if the computer is running on battery only.  Any ideas how I can get the cord to display when AC power feeds the laptop.

  The accumulator is recharged, but there is no busy indication, apart from the height of solid white fill.

  Laptop computer should turn on without the battery when it is connected directly to the power source. As Techgod said it could be a hardware problem, it is possible that the problem is with the battery.
