  If the instructions that you need a cable then you need a cable. On several printers now, you don't need USB cable for Setup (that's why many boxes do not have) and you can run the installation on your computer or a button on the printer.

  Did you buy your machine from another country? I can't believe this, HP provides no USB cable on some printers and now without power cord for a PC. Even in many countries of the third world, they still have rules on the power cords and normal for a country power cords should be allowed to use on devices sold in this country. Have you checked the box, the store where you purchased the machine (if local) must provide a power supply for you.

  I just ordered the Toshiba NB200-10Z of Amazon.co.uk because the model wasn't available everywhere in Finland, despite being listed on the site of Toshiba Finland.   Your question gave me a chance to look at my laptop at home now. %0% of them use 2. 5A - 240V cords others use a 5, 7. 5a and 10 to the cords. I also turned my HP Envy 17 t loan charger and requires 1.5 a entry. What I see: 2.5 a input cord 1. 5A charger is ok.

  Do you mean the unit WHOLE (including charger) or just the cord of the charger plug?

  (a) for the entire unit, HP Desktop in your country will help you,

  (b) for the string only: put the charger to any good electrical shop and they will be happy to sell you one.

  I bought a HP Envy 17 Notebook computer Touchsmart m7-j120dx today. It has a brick of power with a removable power cord between the power brick and the wall. The end enter the power brick has three circular rubber pins which are part of the power brick. I have an old power cord that I bought in Europe with the same type three circular rubber forks that fit into an old brick of power for a laptop disappeared. The other end that fits into the wall has obviously a European plug. Can I use the former European power cable with this new HP power brick and safetly use to power my new HP Envy 17 Notebook computer Touchsmart m7-j120dx? The European power cable was purchased at the Denmark in a general store in computer science. It is not an HP product and was not specific to my old power brick or an old laptop - he simply adapt and worked. My guess is that the old European cord will work with the new HP power brick.   This printer uses a standard pc power cord.  All power cord printer or standard pc with 3 connections will work fine.  I just hope that it is the power supply cord and not taking on the printer.
