    Hello sully 7890.

Thank you for using Microsoft Windows forum.

You have installed the latest display drivers?

Check in the Device Manager, if your screen needs the latest drivers.

    Try the following steps:

    Step 1:

    Display drivers

You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

    (1) open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or click on continue.

    (2) in the Device Manager, look for the accession of the display and then double-click the device name.

    3) then click on the driver tab, click Update driver and follow the instructions.

See the link on how to update a driver: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work properly

    Step 2:

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

    1. open display settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, on appearance and customization, personalization, and then clicking display settings.

    2. pursuant to the resolution, move the slider to the desired resolution, then click on apply.

    Change the screen resolution: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Change-screen-resolution

Also check the settings of your monitor horizontal/vertical display provided by the manufacturer of the system, or contact with them.

    Hope this works

Anyone know if its possible to change the settings for the taskbar for the other windows or games can cover or be on top of the taskbar. I have my taskbar set to the top of the screen and when I start Flight Simulator Microsoft in full-screen or 1920 x 1080, he fills the entire screen except the upper part which is the bar of tasks, and because of this the windows sim who loses more space and shows its own menu with windows that... yet once loses more than space. The vertical extent of real world it takes away 1 inch of space on the screen that I find pretty ridiculous. Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your efforts to solve the problem.

I suggest you to check if the problem occurs in a new user account.

    Create a user account
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-user-account

If the problem does not exist in the new user account, you have damaged user profile. You can follow the procedure to resolve a corrupted profile.

Copy old files to the new profile:

    a. go to C:\Users\Corrupted_Profile_Name\. The name of the profile will be the corrupted ProfileName.

    b. copyall files.

    c. Open Panel and the display of folder options uncheck Hide protected operating system files.

    d. navigate to C:\Users\Corrupted_Profile_Name and copy the Appdata folder.

Note: Do not copy these three files. NtUser.dat, NtUser.ini, NtUser.log.

    e. navigateto C:\Users\New_Profile_Name\.

    f. Paste all files here.

Hope this information helps. Answer the post with an up-to-date issue report to help you further.

  • How to configure the desktop or the taskbar icon/link to Firefox so 42 or more recent version of Firefox always opens in a 'new private window'?

I use Linux on my Acer laptop. I want to use Mozilla Firefox version 42.0 or more recent in the 'new private window Mode"always. When I click on the Firefox icon on my desktop or the taskbar, I want Firefox to open in 'New private window' always; no exception. When I click on the tab button or a link, all new pages should always open 'Private window' mode. In addition, I want to know that I am in a private window with privacy mask showing. Your help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you, Amos.

Hi Amos, assuming you want to get more protection, monitoring, there are a few options:

    • You can customize your firefox shortcut on the desktop or the taskbar to open firefox directly in private browsing mode: right-click the shortcut "mozilla firefox", go to properties, and at the end of the target line that should hold them the way to the firefox program folder add " -private"
    • You can enable protection followed not only during private browsing, but in normal windows as hollow a 'hidden' preference: enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named privacy.trackingprotection.enabled. Double-click it and change its value to true.
    • You can set firefox don't remember history in the menu > options > sign confidentiality in order to always run in private browsing mode. However you will not be able to open all normal windows or record the history and passwords if you have defined this mode: confidentiality, and-not-track browsing history settings
  • Why isn't the taskbar Windows 10 stay on top when browsing with Firefox?

For one reason or another, the Windows 10 taskbar is not displayed on the top of the Firefox browser windows/pages. He remains at the top in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. Why won't it stay on top in Firefox? I need to be able to see the time and date while browsing. Is there a solution to this? Please inform me of how to remedy the situation as soon as POSSIBLE, or I have to use Google Chrome (but I won't!).

If Firefox is in display full screen, that allows to block the taskbar. You can switch from full screen to normal display using either:

    • F11
    • Drag the pointer of the mouse to the top of the screen, right-click on an empty area of the bar tab, then exit fullscreen

If this is not it, sometimes the file that stores the dimensions of the window becomes corrupt with nonsense values. Since the file is difficult to edit, you can rename and have Firefox back to windows default sizes.

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

This process may disable some of the bars that you want to display. To enable their return, you can use one of the following methods to view the list of the toolbar, and then select the desired bars it:

To activate the menu bar, toolbar bookmarks or other bars, click it in the list.

  • Firefox does not appear (it will be 'open', although it seems that it is open in the taskbar)

I don't know if it's a coincidence that he himself has updated to 37.0, but it must be...

When I click the task bar on Firefox and on the desktop icon, it opens on the taskbar, when I select the taskbar it shows even Firefox loaded Google (my default Web page)... But it never occurred to the screen.

    I have:
-Windows 8.0 (No 8.1 and I'm not on the upgrade because it works better than 8.1)
    -Noscript add-on/plugin, or more
    -the drivers up to date

    I tried:
-Uninstall and reinstall the version the most recent (37.0)
-Uninstall 37.0 and installation of Firefox Web site archive 36.0
    -Restart my computer after install
    -Disabling service maintenance on installation

I "allow" - ed the windows popup install twice and it does not help.
The first time, it tries to open, she went to the yellow background on the taskbar to open programs, you have not yet used.
However, when I click on it nothing comes on the screen. When I select always watch here my homepage. I can't do the thing in firefox update because I can't even display. I don't get the error messages on my computer, which is weirder. I updated and ran windows defender full scan and found nothing (but it is not surprising to "defender", lol).

Once he opens the first time, even open another page opens nothing. Then it crashes and does close, even if you right click and you try to close all the windows... I have to use the Task Manager to close at the end of task...

I don't know how to open the 'xpi' convenience store thing, sorry...

And no whining, but why is - it so suddenly broken XD... And more important still, how in the world I can't come back to work? I use this terrible chrome I got lucky to have right on my computer already, which I only got to see one thing a long time ago and I forgot I even had Chrome... And as much as I hate to use chrome, it is actually works perfectly for me now... Thank you for any help will be much appreciated...

The Firefox window is sometimes "off screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt.

#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or search from the start menu (bar (or, in Windows 8 may bar charms bar research?) type or paste the following and press ENTER to drill down to the profiles folder):

    %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old as well.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

Thank you! Your thing 'out of scope' brought me exactly what I need! I realized it was broken because of my second monitor/TV... It wasn't "on" the TV, but because he was off it broke somehow... So, once I've restarted BOTH on, she came back to my main screen/monitor (no tv). I don't know why he did it, but he must have crashed on my main screen because the TV was turned off... Strange...

  • Strange glitch Visual on the taskbar when using Firefox

    Hello

I feel a strange glitch Visual on the taskbar when using firefox.

Please take a look at this short video because it shows the problem, it's almost impossible to show in pictures.

    https://DL.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12595174/VIDEO0016.3gp

I use firefox on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit v36.0.1. Video card is an ASUS R9 280 X using the latest drivers from AMD 14.12 Catalyst Omega Software.

Motherboard is an ASUS M5A88 with 16 GB of ram and a processor of 6300 FX.

It is a new construction that I have implemented in the last 24 hours, and this behavior was not present on the system using the same version of windows, firefox and even map chart and drivers. But on another card mother and CPU. Previous Board of Directors has been
    M4A79XTD EVO with a Phenom II X 4 955BE.

The glitching does not occur when it is on the desktop and firefox is closed. It will not occur when you use IE - 64 nor does it when I am using the steam software or any Explorer windows/opening files.

All the motherboard drivers are installed correctly, the integrated graphics card is disabled in the BIOS. I disabled the settings of firefox for hardware acceleration, smooth scrolling and text... to see if it was the question. It wasn't.

I'd appreciate any help to solve this... Really, I don't want to use a different browser but it's bad enough and quite distracting to really annoy me, and I don't see any alternative.

    Thank you very much.
    H

    Hi jscher2000

I was about to post a reply, because a friend suggested that maybe that's a rendering of issue rather than a firefox one video card even if it's strange how it affected firefox only. I didn't have a chance to test it on Chrome as it is a new construction and I don't want to install the software, I do not use.

I went to the Manager of catalyst and had a glance to the settings. I changed something, but no help... I then started to make a simple change and test until I found that the activation "gpu up-scaling" in the properties of digital flat screens has solved the problem.

    I am now free twinkle

Thanks for your quick response however.

  • How can I make each tab appears in the taskbar Linux

The version of Windows 7 Firefox has the option to display of each tab in a separate post in the taskbar. I use Linux now (specifically, Linux Mint, Office MATE with compiz) and I miss this feature. In compiz, I can press Super + W to show all my windows at once on the screen. It does not help, however, because only the active tab exists on the bar of tasks and in the view of all windows.

If it is not possible to display all the tabs as part of the taskbar, is there a way to configure firefox to not use tabs and just do a new window while he took a tab?

On your main question, I have no idea.

As for your second question, you can disable the derivation of new windows in new tabs in the settings here:

Edit menu > Preferences > tabs

Nevertheless, Firefox to open tabs on its own (for example, when you select Tools > modules or help > troubleshooting information), but it should address most of the cases. If you want to get totally rid of the tabs, there is an add-on for that. It is discussed in this thread: How can I completely disable tabs? Personally, though, I think it is probably overkill for most people.
