The update of Firefox 22.0 will disable the protection of my Symamtec?

It is said that it will disable my 13.3.0.9 - 5 Symantec Intrusion Prevention so I shouldn't update, right?

jmk909er, that you are still not sure. Your antivirus will continue to work normally as the message to disable on the version of the Extension that you have which was not compatible with Firefox 22.0.

  • When I updated to Firefox 5 has been disabled my realplayer downloader and now I don't know how to download mp3 files.

    Because of security vulnerabilities, roll back to Firefox 4.0.1 is discouraged.

    Here is the process to roll back to 3.6:

    First of all, I recommend you backup your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See your backup information. (You can copy your profile folder Firefox together somewhere outside the Mozilla folder).

    Then, download and save Firefox 3.6 on your desktop for later installation. http://www.Mozilla.com/Firefox/all-older

    Firefox is closed 5.

    You could install Firefox 3.6 on it (many have reported success) or you can uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, the entire program.

    Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left. If there are serious questions, please post back with details.

    Note: I have not actually tried myself!

  • I've just updated to firefox 8 is my norotn 360 protects me I use firefox 8

    I've just updated to firefox 7.0 8.0 Firefox my norton 360 protect me when I use firefox 8.0

    Update of Norton toolbar for Firefox 8 is out-> http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Firefox-8-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/581640

    You may need to reactivate 2 extensions for Norton in the Add-ons > Extensions after installing Firefox 8. Firefox 8 automatically disables third-party modules. When you start Firefox 8 for the first time (and only the first start of Firefox 8 time), you are given the option to check the items you want to be active. After that, activation of the modules can be done in the Add-ons > Extensions.

    Not related to your question, but...

    You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update if necessary:

  • Last update of firefox is compatible with PC Matic protection?

    I continue to prompt to upgrade to the latest version, but I want to know before I update, if the protection PC Matic is compatible?
    I had a different protection and firefox would not let many of the addons work.

    The current version is Firefox 37.0.2.
    You already 37 of Firefox, so if it works for you with this version update shouldn't be a problem.

    Make sure that you update only via help > topic

    If you get a pop-up message asking to put plugins or Firefox updated or anti-malware analysis then this message probably is a scam and you should never respond to such reporting to avoid being infected by malware.

    • Don't update Firefox via "> about" or by downloading and installing Firefox from Mozilla and server never using a popup or a link on a web page.
    • Plugins should be updated only through the plugin itself, or by visiting the home page of the plugin.
  • Why would I want to install the new Firefox if it will disable my antivirus software?

    He said: it allows to disable my antivirus. And then it does not youo do not install option. She keeps just listen to you to install. Try to fix it until you release.

    "Main function"? Surely you jest!

  • After the update Firefox 25 tabs "will return" 2 to 3 pages, when switching tab or exit full-screen.

    It happens more frequently when you exit the full screen of a video. for example, youtube, dailymotion, nbc.com - the entire site with embedded video players.

    When you exit the full screen, the page goes back 2-3 pages. And no, I'm not clicking on videos related everything fullscreen all the time: that's all by launching full-screen and full-screen, all on the same page of output video.

    This happens less frequently during the passage of the tabs - but if I switch to another tab, then return, the first tab will load the page that I've been there are 2 pages.

    More information: when this happens, the "arrow" is grayed out and the page that loads is on the list of the "arrow" twice - lower in the list where it should be, as well as the top of the list, as if I had clicked on a link to this page.

    All this started immediately after restart Firefox after updating to version 25 - no other changes have been made to my computer.

    The problems were with HTML5

    Subject: config > media.webm.enabled > false

    Problem solved! BY ME!

    (Attached picture is a screen CAP that shows up if HTML5 is disabled. I had noticed before the update of Firefox, but it was never enough to the top of long to actually read, and I didn't really like. When she returned immediately after the deactivation of HTML5, I did a screen CAP to see what has increased. Oh I see... something worked, so some fool decided to fix it... Genius!)

  • I can't find Add-ons that will be disabled when I update to Firefox 11.0

    I received a message from the installer that four of my extensions will be disabled when I install Firefox 11.0. I tried to find these updates of the extension, but could not.

    The XULRunner extension is seen as a malware, so you probably better should remove this extension of your current configuration.

    Java Console extensions are not necessary.

    You only need the extension of the Java Console (Tools > Modules > Extensions) If you want to check and debug Java applets.

    You can uninstall and remove extensions of the Java Console, you do not need to run Java applets.

    See:

    There should be an update to the Norton toolbar that is compatible with Firefox 11 (do not know Firefox 12 which will be released in the coming days, probably tomorrow, for some limited users.

  • Can the "first run after update of Firefox" (aka. "What's New" and "Add-on compatibility check") be disabled?

    We intend to deploy an update to Firefox on our campus. The question I have is this: after the update, the "compatibility of the add-on Checker" appears, then the 'What's new' page appears during the first boot after the update. In this case: we use Deep Freeze to prevent kids to do any mischief based on software on the machines. But if we push the update at night, during maintenance windows, they will be frozen in the pre-first-time-run mode. So, whenever a student starts the PC after that, they will get the popup of compatibility both the "What's new" page

    Is there a way I can disable that during the upgrade, so that students will not have to click on these 2 points away? I would like for Firefox just silently disable incompatible modules and do not display the page "news". I found ways to do it, but they involve editing omni.jar and others. I'd rather have a formal, documented way to do this.

    Thank you!!

    Well, eventually nothing worked, except all the settings I wanted to put in part of mozilla.cfg. When I added your suggestion, and one I found on the web to disable add-on compatibility check, I finally have a Firefox that loads directly to the homepage, even after the upgrade.

    Here's what my mozilla.cfg file contains (to 6.0.2):

    // Disable any auto-updates.
    lockPref("app.update.enabled", false);
    lockPref("extensions.update.enabled", false);
    lockPref("browser.search.update", false);
    lockPref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone", "ignore");
    lockPref("extensions.checkCompatibility.6.0", false);

    Of course, I must make the byteshift-13 at it, but copy the Core\ file and the file firefox.js to Core\Defaults\Pref\ the round is played.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi stephenm26904611,

    Thank you for your bug report about the extension to create a file PDF Acrobat being disabled in FF v43.

    It is a known issue and we are working on that.

    We intend to provide support in the future updates.

    Meanwhile, as a solution, you can use Adobe Create PDF extension for Chome and Internet Explorer, or use Acrobat to convert web pages to PDF.

    Thank you

  • I've updated to Firefox 8, now, it will not keep Me connected to all the sites!

    Everything was beautiful and brilliant. Then I updated to Firefox 8. Now any website I want to (Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) will not keep me connected when I check the box to do so. As soon as I close Firefox and reopen it, I have to log in again, even if on some sites it's to remember my username and password (just do not keep me logged).

    I tried to delete all cookies and history and still nothing.

    Does anyone else have this problem?

    In the privacy section of the Firefox options, make sure that Firefox is configured to accept cookies and that it is not set to clear history of Firefox closing.

    (If you use the default "Remember history" then it should work fine. If you use the "customized for the history settings" setting, and then make sure that "Accept cookies" is checked and "clear history of Firefox closing is not checked.)

  • Firefox will not allow the module because "do not update for Firefox 29,0" even on update modules.

    I recently newly installed firefox 29.0.1 on my Android phone. Several modules that work very well on my laptop with Firefox 29,0 claim to be 'not updated for Firefox 29,0"

    for 'Reporter compatibility add-on' and the 'Greasemonkey' add-on, the site was actually a message in red under a gray button 'add to Firefox' who says 'not updated for Firefox 29.0 ".

    For the add-on "Leechblock", the site allows me to download, but after downloading a message saying "Leechblock could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 29.0.1.

    All these modules work fine on my computer, and the support for them sites claim that they have been updated, so I'm at a loss as to why they do not work.

    On the view of the Office of addons.mozilla.org , there a version information section that can be extended if you click on it. For example https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/stylish/

    > Works with Firefox for Android 14.0 - 32.0, Firefox 4.0 and later, SeaMonkey 2.1 and later, Thunderbird 5.0 and later

    If the extension does not Firefox for Android in its version information section, it is not compatible.

  • Every single extension I have is broken. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work either. They say they will updated when Firefox is restarted, but I can't even open the preferences for each plugin.

    Does not work an extension of solitaire. Many of them say they'll be updated to Firefox is restarted. Apparently, some of them seem to work, but by clicking on the 'Préférences' button does not cause any response. I have Firefox 3.6.13. I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the extensions (Stumbleupon) but nothing is. I have to be re - install Firefox here?

    This can happen if one of the files which stores information about the extensions you installed is corrupted. The difficulty that see the section on extension files corrupt in the article Impossible to install add-ons (extensions and themes) .

  • Cannot update Firefox becuse Norton will not update utility password for beta

    WHY Firefox keep releasing Betas and not a new final version? Whenever Firefox has a new version, my Norton password utility stops working. Certainly, I have any Norton except disabled password utility, but I need that. I learned to not update Firefox, until Norton updates his stuff to be compatible with the new Firefox. Some time ago, I checked with Norton to see if they had updated yet and it has been said that they would not be up to date for a Beta. Since that time, all updates Firefox have Betas. Since I can't afford to lose my passwords, I don't dare to update Firefox. Why in the He - can't Firefox release a new version so that Norton will update of compatibility, so I can update my Firefox? Just now I'm stuck on Ffx 23, and if they keep releasing anything else than the beta versions, I have to stop using Firefox.

    A final version of Firefox 24 will be released next week. You need Firefox 24 to solve a problem with Firefox 23 or can you expect?

    Please note that when you install a beta version of Firefox, you will be offered new beta updates (at the present time, these beta versions are the last test builds for Firefox 24). To get the string on the output channel and beta, you can use the installer of Firefox 23.0.1 from the regular download page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/.
