The upgrade of firmware

I have been updating the firmware on some 1200 Series APs and have encountered some problems. Out of three separate APs, it was a complete flop and now has no bootable top file; but this is another topic, we went well and has been improved, and the third won't upgrade when finished on the browser interface. (error: could not locate the file or the file is not valid, but is the same file used for the one who has worked)

I tried to load the image through the command prompt, using the information provided on this Web site to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps4570/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080209250.html#wp1030793

Instructions for the use of the key ESC CLI did not make a difference, no matter how long I have the ESC key for a second or a minute. It always starts up regularly.

Here are the instructions:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Using the CLI

Follow the steps below to reload the access point image using the CLI interface. When the access point starts booting, you interrupt the boot process and use the controls of boot loader to load an image from a TFTP server to replace the image in the access point.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note that your access point configuration is not changed when you use the CLI to reload the image file.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 open the CLI using a connection or a Telnet session to port console access point.

Step 2 Reboot the access point by removing power and reapplying power.

Step 3 let the boot of access point until it begins to swell the image. When you see these lines on the CLI, press Esc:

Loading "flash:/c350-k9w7-mx.v122_13_ja.20031010/c350-k9w7-mx.v122_13_ja.20031010".

...###########################################################################

################################################################################

################################################################################

####################

Step 4 when the access point: command prompt appears, enter the set command to assign an IP address, subnet mask and Gateway default to the access point.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The ap: command prompt is never shows, he showed yesterday when I unfortunately removed an access point firmware; as I have already said, another topic.

Any help that can be given to me would be greatly appreciated.

The start for the AP version that will not work with the CLI is 12.2 (8) software lease early deployment of JA. (fc1)

Thanks again,

Matt

Hey Matt,

Great job, recover the dead AP! It seems to me based on the description of the errors you have encountered while trying to upgrade these 3 AP, it's strictly a problem with TFTP server on your laptop. I'm not sure of what you use, but I know a very popular TFTP server is available from Solarwinds (free download) @.

http://www.SolarWinds.NET/tools/Free_tools/TFTP_Server/

The image file you are using has been now well twice tells me that is not the problem. I also think that the process is fine, while it shrinks down. Let us know how do you with this third access point.

I hope this helps!

  • Quick Q on the upgrade of firmware

    Hello

I need to upgrade the firmware on 3 equallogics 5.02 to 5.2.2.

I intend to do that via an interim update 5.1.2

I was wondering if you think that its necessary to stop and the servers (VMs) running off the SAN when the firmware is updated?

    Thank you

    Huw

Also, important is to ensure that the vm have their value of DISK timeout to 60 seconds.  "On the EQL Web site, under the 5.2.2 link update firmware, is a document"OS review"guide" which covers how to change this value in the BONES of the VM itself.   The ESX disk time-out value (i) is already set.  (Should not be confused with the CONNECTION timeout value that Joe was referring to)

There are some applications like Exchange and SQL that can generate errors during the restart of the controller.  Since they have an internal clock that can report warnings of latency during this period.

When possible, make a slow i/o activity or upgrade to during a maintenance window is a good idea.

    Kind regards

  • Cannot access the WAP54G after firmware upgrade

I have updated the firmware of my WAP54G v.2; We just started to use the AP again and when I checked, I thought I would update. I was going to 1.2 or 1.4 to the latest firmware using this link http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/lbc/WAP54G, version 2. I could see the AP before starting my Dlink router. I downloaded the firmware and the upgrade of the access point. She completed successfully, but when I tried it I could reach him is no longer. I checked the router and it shows is no longer there and I can't access it via the installer.

How you try to access the router configuration page? If the access point is connected to your d-link router, make sure that your router's default ip address and AP are in the same range. The IP default WAP54G is 192.168.1.245.

If the router's default IP address is different, so you will need the AP wired to your computer and assign a static ip address to your computer ie: 192.168.1.10 and then connect to the access point configuration page and settings wireless entry and change the default IP of AP, which is of the order of your d-link router.

  • the upgrade of 7.2 to 8.0 (3) firmware on asa 5505

I'm about to upgrade from my asa to version 8 of 7.    I see a lot of instructions on the use of tftp to achieve this.  I also see in the GUI where I can download the image files for version 8.  is there a downside to use the GUI instead of a tftp server?  Everything seems easier through the GUI.

With TFTP, you will be able to see the progress of the file transfer as well as the upgrade and with the ASDM, it will not really give you any progress and you can just wait blindly.

  • After the upgrade to 10.11.6, mDNSResponder runs havoc

    Hello

After the el Capitan to 10.11.6, upgrade my internet connection has been blocked by my ISP because of a flood of packets to multicast from my side.

I studied using the monitor activity and found that mDNSResponder creates the network traffic with more than 20 MB per minute, and I see also all the lights on my network switches will blink quickly. The problem disappears if I manually kill the process; then it automatically restarts and creates only a few KB per min.

It is two machines, an iMac and a Powerbook from 2015. Nothing else was changed other than the upgrade.

    So obviously something is wrong.

    Thanks for the resolution!

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

  • Since the upgrade to 10.11.4 won't open my app store.

Since the upgrade to 10.11.4 will not load the app store my mac icon. It opens, but all I get is a spinning wheel.

Please test after taking each of the steps that you have not already tried it. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.

Sometimes, the cause of the problem may be an Apple network, whereby failure cases none of the steps below will have no effect. You just have to wait for the failure be fixed. This should rarely, if ever, take more than a few hours.

    Step 1

Connect to the App Store by selecting Sign In in the Store menu. If you are already connected, disconnect and then reconnect.

    Step 2

Remove or disable "Little Snitch", or any other third party software like that blocks outbound connections to network, in accordance with the instructions of the developer.

    Step 3

    In the menu bar, select

     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network

If the preferences window is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Click the Advanced button, and then select the Proxies tab. If any proxy are selected, make a note of and then deselect them. You need not change the bypass or the FTP settings. Click OK, and then apply. Test. The result may be that you can not connect to any web server. Restore the previous settings if necessary.

    Step 4

Log off or restart the computer.

    Step 5

Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

If possible, connect to a different network and test.

    Step 7

    Reset the NVRAM.

  • Cannot turn off after the upgrade to 10.11.4

I have a late 2012 3.4 ghz i7 iMac / 32 RAM 10.11.4 running (and other iMacs around the office): I can't stop. When I try a stop down (after removal of servers/TimeMachine, close all applications - even unplugging the ethernet cable) - it goes to a black screen with the "circle of rotation of lines." They will be 'spin' this weekend if I let him. Instead, I'll put the machine to sleep during the week and make a hard cock down via the power button Friday night.

I think it has something to do with the upgrade to 10.11.4. I have reset the PRAM and tried also to start up in the 'hidden' startup disk and first aid running without result. Tried to find preferences for throw - unsuccessfully - Finder found "com.apple.finder.sfl" I should throw?

Another change is that now I'm using a new Pegasus2 18 to RAID hooked up via "2016" MacMini and Apple server software (replaced my Apple XServe)

Someone at - there a method I can use to stop? Thanks for your help!

  • How to upgrade my Firmware for printers?

    Hello

I'll post a quick tutorial on how to upgrade the firmware for your printer.

Whatever printer you have to do most of your print, there are a few things you can do to ensure that it runs optimally. According to the model and printer ship date, you can have a few updates to make as your printers may not have shipped with the driver or the most recent firmware.

There are many reasons why these updates are important. Driver updates will make your printer run more smooth and faster from your computer or the printing station. They will also update Media preloaded into the pilot that they become available on the market, so that you can easily print on these materials.

Firmware updates also make sure that your printer works more fluid and faster, but this applies to the material itself. Firmware is only the software that is loaded in your hardware. Latest firmware updates for some models of printers decreased paper and ink waste and increased print speeds.

Now to download the latest version of the software that you will need:

    1. Go to HP.com support & drivers
    2. Click on the green box
    3. Type the product number of the printer that you have
    4. Select what OS you have on the desktop / laptop
    5. After that, you can go ahead and get the latest version of the software that are available on the list.

Remember if you find one of my post useful or want to say thanks don't forget to click the White Star under my name to give me congratulations.
    I really appreciate it!

Once you install the firmware, it will give you a list of instructions on how to load the update to the printer.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you!

    I hope it's useful!

    Thank you!

  • Pavilion DV6-2140ED: Pavilion DV6: 10 Windows does not start after the upgrade memory (4 GB-> 8 GB)

After I upgraded the RAM in my HP DV6 from 4 GB to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB Kingston KTA-MB1333 / 4G), Windows no longer starts. I get a blue screen and it keeps restarting.

I think that the memory specifications are similar to the Samsung M471B5673EH1-CH9 original memory: Ghz 1333, non - ecc, 1.5 volts, case latency 9 etc.etc.

    It's a laptop DV6-2140ED HP with a processor Intel i5 - 430 m and Intel mobile chipset HM55.

The bios detects 8 GB and it also passes the check/test of memory. As far as I know that I have also installed the latest bios firmware: F.1D. Reinstall my Windows 10 64 bit does not work either: with 8 GB I also get blue screens, after I try to boot my Windows 10 bootable USB drive.

I read other people having the same problem, but I have not read a solution yet. What can we do about it?

    Hello:

Please see this discussion.  You buy a very specific memory for any HP laptop with Mobile Intel 5 series chipset.

  • Pavilion dv6: Intel Centrino Wireless - n 2230 will not activate after the upgrade to Windows 10

    Model A3E82AV number

I've been avoiding Windows 10 because I knew something like this was going to happen, but I took the pludge.  Anyway, everything seemed to work but my wireless adapter.  After the upgrade, the rocker on the keyboard turns on and outside airplane mode, and I can't switch to map wireless in Windows settings.

I can get wireless adapter to turn on, go into that in a minute, but if I shutdown or reboot, the problem returns.

I had success in the driver update, or by manually installing the driver, I even read a tip to make the battery, hold the power button down while the battery is out and run it upwards.  I tried to reset the BIOs to default settings.  When the computer feels like it, the wireless adapter will start working after a reboot.  If I have the toggle switch, the light goes from orange to white, I can then activate wireless and connect to my SSID.  If I stop or restart, my wireless NETWORK card no longer works and we return to the toggle keyboard turning power on and off airplane mode.  Device Manager says it is working normally and the drivers are up to date.

I read a post from microsoft that says VPN adapters could cause corruption while making the upgrade.  I'm a professional, so I got a handful of cards, but also virtual cards VMWare Workstation installed, so I tried to come back to Win 7, remove the adapters, are re-upgrade.  It does not solve the issue.  While I was back in Windows 7, everything worked most of the time, but there were some problems with the programs, etc. which would not work right.  When I upgraded to Windows 10, some of these problems persist, so I checked my backups to make sure they were up to date and did a new install of windows 10.  I am now running a new image with just firefox, associate of HP and the different drivers Intel, I tried to install, and I still can't get the card wireless to tour consistantly on / off power after a reboot.  I thought for sure the nuclear option could solve the problem now I can't even go back to Windows 7.  I did mention to try some recommended drivers Intel, I found in other posts... I also tried to uninstall the driver, and install in compatibility mode, but that has not worked, either.

This one had me scratching my head.  I tried literally everything I can find on the internet in an attempt to solve the problem, and nothing will keep the work of consistantly wireless NETWORK card.  Any other ideas out there?

Looking at the forums, appears not to have a lot of people in all areas of this issue with different brands of computers and network interface cards.  If anyone knows anything else to try, I would really appreciate it.

    FIXED!

I think so.  I downloaded and installed the bios for Windows 8.  After that, I managed shutdown and booted my laptop 3 times and restarted once.  Every time you start after the installation of the firmware BIOs, the card automatically turned on and connected to my SSID NETWORK.  Since the upgrade to Windows 10 I saw not the laptop automatically start and connect the wireless NETWORK card and he did successfully 4 times now.

The file that I downloaded from the HP Web site was update the BIOs for Windows 8 version F.2D rev A.  The file name is sp68425.  I will continue to monitor and make sure that it was indeed the fix, but all great so far.

For people who can run on the same topic, here's a recap of what I did to solve my problem:

    Centrino 2230 installed 15.18.0.1 driver
    Update driver Bluetooth 10.0.10586.0

Updated the BIOS to the version of Windows 8 F.2D Rev A

If you decide to play with the BIOs firmware, just be aware that if things go well, you could cause more damage to your system.  I would only try this method if you are uncomfortable for the recovery of a faulty BIOS installation.
