the upgrade of my p7-1010z processor

Hello! I currently have the p7-1010z hp and it has an amd phenom II x 4 840 t 2.9 ghz. So, I want to update. I know its old but its all I can do at the moment. I see that it can take a 6 core. So my question is what can I put a 6 core in my mobo? My motherboard is a Foxconn 2AB1 v1.0

Ok. Then, the following information from the specification of the motherboard are accurate.  The max TDP of 95W is important.

I have a Pavilion Elite d5000t with a motherboard Asus IPIBL-TX.  Currently, I have an Intel Core 2 Quad processor and upgrade to quad i7 w / hyperthreading.  The current motherboard will support this processor or do I have to upgrade it as well?  Thank you!

    -Jake

    The i7-920 (and all the i7 - 9xx) use a socket 1366.

    The i7 - 8xx (as well as the I5-870) use a socket 1156.

So yes... or need a new motherboard

The slabs 1366 (and fleas) allow triple channel memory configuration. (assuming that you buy the correct combination of the RAM of the system: not all proposed configurations will be a Tri-channel performance).

1156 slabs (and chips) will allow the configuration of memory dual channel (assuming that you buy the correct combination of the RAM of the system: not all proposed configurations will be a performance dual channel)

All i7 chips are hyperthreading. The i5 chip is not.

There is debate if tri-channel ram 1066 is actually faster than ram dual channel 1366. Of course, don't buy a PC with a misconfiguration of ram.

  • the upgrade of processor in compaq presario cq4010f

I have a desktop Compaq Presario CQ4010F running Windows 7 Home premium 64 with AMD sempiron chip factory, and I want to improve. I checked page plug product and learned that the motherboard is the manufacturer name: Pegatron M2N68 - LA (5 NARRATED), and HP/Compaq name: NARRA6 GL6. Then I checked the processor upgrade information and learned that it supports the image of socket AM2 + AMD Phenom II chip. I bought the AMD Phenom II X 4 940 3.0 GHz true quad design 8.0 MB total cache chip core. I've installed the chip, and while I was there, I added 1 GB of ram (leading to 3 GB total) just to be on the safe side. When I turned on the computer it tells me "unsupported processor' and turns off. I cursed loudly and ran things. Then I put the old chip in the back and it works fine. I checked the BIOS (the BIOS basic version: 6.0 BIOS revision: 5.54).  The new memory appears, so it's true.  I called a local computer repairman who did work for my mother in the past, and he told me that I have to upgrade the BIOS. I went to HP's download page, but there is no update of the BIOS for my machine. Then, I called 1 800 HP customer/tech support number, but had difficulty in communicating my problem because nobody speaks English as a first language. I cursed even louder and expelled more than things. My cat is still in hiding.

My question: How can I get this chip to work? I really need to upgrade the BIOS? If Yes, where can I get the said upgrade? If this is not the case, how can I get the current BIOS to recognize the new CPU? How to coax my cat (grey and white tiger striped, 2 years, version 4.5) out of hiding?

Help, please! I want to play Skyrim.

    Thank you!

You can post a screenshot of what you mean. ?
There should not be a difference between the two.

Computers HP don't require processors HP. The processors are manufactured by AMD and Intel.

Just compare the specifications of each against what you read in the text of presentation upgrade CPU on the portal of the web HP supported on your motherboard.

  • the upgrade/change the processor intel

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to change the processor on an old hp laptop.

I have a hp pavilion dv 1680ca notebook pc. I want to change my processor intel centrino duo

a intel i3, i5 or i7 processor. And if I have to change the motherboard also. I would also like

to see if I can change my hard drive too or leave. It's a 100 GB SATA - 1.5 GB / ULTRA ATA - 5400 RPM.

And I want to change it to 750 GB-7200 tours/MIN/7500 TR / MIN. The laptop is 6 or more years. I upgraded the

memory from 512 MB to 2 GB. No problems. Or a 256 GB SSD will work?

    Hello:

You can't do the things that you asked your model laptop, except to intall a larger hard drive (maybe up to 250 GB).

No other motherboards will fit in the case. An i series processor does not work with your current motherboard.

Very doubtful an SSD will work in your model.

    Hello Netbuckler,

I understand that you are interested in upgrading the processor and graphics card on your laptop, is that correct? I will try and provide you with information that needed to get there.

The processor can be improved in this particular notebook. If you go to page 91 in the maintenance manual , it will give you a list of processors and it will show you the steps to do it yourself. I don't know what your current status of security with this laptop, but if you are still covered the upgrade of the processor warranty this I just want you to be aware.

Now and then when you're dealing with the graphics card it is soldered to the motherboard if you will not be able to update. If you really want to improve the graphics, as you go through the motherboard. There is a list of those on page 81 in the owner's manual as well.

    Hello

I don't plan on specific issues.  You will need to reuse the existing heatsink.

Review a couple of uTube videos of Intel i7-2600 installation so that you get the feel of what you need to do.

I suggest that you plan to install latest BIOS update for your PC and your PC stable before you proceed with the replacement of the processor.  It could not hurt to run diagnostics to make sure that your PC hardware is stable.

If you experience problems after installing, then try to clear the CMOS memory.

  • HP pavilion dv6-2150us: problems with the upgrade of processor for an i7-720qm on a hp pavilion dv6-2150us

    Hi all

My friend recently bought an i7-720qm processor used to upgrade hp pavilion dv6 2 1 5 0 US and I

summer giving a helping hand by making the upgrade.

Since the 10 Windows running Google Chrome used up to 70% of the processing of an i3 - 330 m power

processor, it seemed to be good upgrade to improve the performance of the laptop.

We checked that the new i7 processor is compatible with the laptop (it is listed as supported by the)

( interview guide , page 108), and the seller assured us he tested the CPU on some different

HP pavilion and it worked fine.

But when I replaced the processor with the i7 processor i3 and tried to boot up the laptop, only the LED lights

on the front and the setting of the power and volume buttons would light up periodically. The screen was black

    All the time.

Thinking I might have made a mistake during the reassembly of the laptop I put the original i3 processor back in

    and it starts fine.

I updated the BIOS of the F.1C version I found on the internet and once replaced the i3 with the i7 with the

same results - display off, flashes periodically LEDs. The BIOS updated smoothly, and the correct version is displayed in the main menu of the BIOS.

I am confused on what could be the problem with the upgrade, everything should work. Is there a BIOS update I have

    missed, or the problem elsewhere?

Disassembly and reassembly are made with care, and we took care to avoid static electricity. All the rest

on the laptop works well - I am writing this post on the laptop in question with the original i3 processor in place.

Any help, advice or general guidelines as to what should be done would be really appreciated.

    Thank you for your attention.

    Hello:

  • The upgrade of processor in my HP 635 Notebook PC

    Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the processor in my computer HP 635 PC laptop?

If it is possible, what would be the best processor to get, to get a performance gain?

How much difference would it make? -Both in terms of game and browse the web for example.

Could there be problems with high temperatures?

    ProductName: HP 635 Notebook PC

    ProductNumber: A1E39EA #UUW

    OS: Win 7 64 bit

On models with AMD E-series processors the processor and motherboard arre a single unit, so you would need to get another card motherboard and CPU. To get the best processor and motherboard will cost at least $400, I would say. Yes, it would improve games and overall computer a little. If you want just the computer to be keenest generally install a SSD drive. You do not have one of the smaller processors available on the newer model laptops, however, and your best bet would be to sell your and find something more to your liking. If you wish to proceed with the upgrade post back and we can talk about specific parts and how to do the job.

My laptop is HP Probook 450 G2. And my processor is 4th generation Intel Core i5. So, I want to upgrade my processor CPU 4th generation intel core i5 to 6th generation intel processor core i5 to skylake. Can I put my 4th generation CPU intel core i5 processor in the 6th generation intel core i5 processor skylake? Pls tell me

    Laughing out loud

You can't do this for a simple reason.

The processor on the motherboard socket are not identical.

4th generation Intel core i5 mobile CPU uses socket 1150

6th generation Intel core i5 mobile CPU uses socket 1440

It's a bit like trying to plug the power plug of the American unit to an electric outlet of the European House.

This article refers only to upgrade (read REPLACEMENT) your device (COMPUTER) with a new one containing the 4th Gen Intel CPU. The facts seem to point to 4th Gen Intel processors requiring that all new sockets with greater spindle counts compared to their Gen 3 processors. If this is the case, no upgrade BIOS will make possible.

  • The upgrade of processor in a P6 - 2326S

I am trying to upgrade the processor in a Pavilion P6 - 2326 S to an Intel i7 - 2700 K (95W, LGA1155) CPU.  My question is simple.  I just want to know what is the max processor can I upgrade this P6-2326 desktop computer to?  I don't want to buy 14 different of those of "try and see if it works."  Here's my question:

I went to the page of specification of the HP product to this desktop computer (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03509229) and it displays a list of 14 'supported' upgrades of the processor.  Based on this information, I bought a processor image Intel Core i7 - 2700K (number 11 on the list) and tried to install it.  After turning on the PC it briefly (a few seconds) all CPU information shows correctly and then has a message that says: "error: unsupported CPU installed.»  Then it stops immediately.

After entering a support ticket with HP, a support level 1 had me disable Secure Boot option in the BIOS and try to restart the PC.  This has no effect.  They have escalated to the 2nd level.  After speaking with the most rude, rude and ignorant customer support ever (Richard), I was informed that the list provided by HP 'caught' processors is "just a suggestion of possible compatible processors, which may or may not work."  It is a direct quote.  His only solution was to buy a processor and try it.  If it worked, congratulations.  If this is not the case, try another.

With some difficulty, I got my case degenerate to an Executive Manager of case (Greg).  Again, the official position of HP is that upgrades, "may or may not work."  Greg suggested that the manufacturer of the motherboard (Foxconn).  I did and their response was that they manufacture the motherboard for HP to HP specifications, this is why all questions should be directed to HP.  Had a mother looking for similar numbers of similar models of their Web site, and it shows the same list of supported processors.  Greg outright lied to me on the phone, saying that he considered as conflicting as to the i7 - 2700 K actually compatible with the motherboard.  He will not mention its Web page reference.  I couldn't find this contradictory information.

    Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p6 - 2326 s and his card mother H-Joshua-H61-Μatx (Joshua). According to the specifications, the following processors are compatible with this model;

Intel Core i3-3xxxT (Ivy Bridge) Dual Core up to 35W
Intel Core i3-3xxx (Ivy Bridge) Dual Core up to 55W
Intel Core i5-3xxxT (Ivy Bridge) Dual Core up to 35W
Intel Core i5-3xxxT (Ivy Bridge) Quad Core up to 45W
Intel Core i5-3xxxS (Ivy Bridge) Quad Core up to 65W
Intel Core i5-3xxxP (Ivy Bridge) Quad Core (integrated graphics not supported) up to 69W
Intel Core i5-3xxx (Ivy Bridge) Quad Core up to 77 w
Intel Core i3-2xxx (Sandy Bridge) Dual Core up to 65W
Intel Core i3-2xxxT (Sandy Bridge) Dual Core up to 35W
Intel Core i5-2xxx (Sandy Bridge) Quad Core up to 95W
Intel Core i7-2xxx (Sandy Bridge) Quad Core up to 95W
G6xx Intel Pentium Dual Core (Sandy Bridge) up to 65W
G6xxT Intel Pentium Dual Core (Sandy Bridge) up to 35W
G8xx Intel Pentium Dual Core (Sandy Bridge) up to 65W

Notice that the list shows support for the suffixes "T", "S" and "P" of some processors, but nowhere that any 'K' suffix is compatible. Perform an internet search "HP joshua and i7-2600 ' returned successfully. Perform a search on the internet "HP i7 - 2600K and joshua" came back with no success. Please buy and install a Intel i7-2600 processor because it's probably the best processor will support this motherboard.
