The upgrade of the connection to the server to 64-bit

We have a server to connect to version 4.0.1.  We are upgrading to 4.6, but it's on a 32-bit server, so we will need to migrate to a 64-bit server.  I see 2 ways to do this...

1 put level 32 bit to 4.6, can create a replica of 64-bit.  If I do this, it will bring over our definitions of pool?

2. use the vdmexport utility, but this backup pool definitions?

Or is there a better way to do the migration?

Hello

You must follow the methods explained in VMware View4.6 upgrade Guide (page 25).

  • After the Server 5.1.5 upgrade network user cannot connect by most workstations

    Hi all

    Intro

I upgraded one of my client of 10.6.8 Xserve server at El Capitan / app 5.1.5 server.

The server is configured with the network homefolders and mobile homefolders. We also use PCS. The 10.6.8 configuration has worked perfectly and still doesn't work. But now it is time to move on.

The upgrade process from was relatively smooth. I had to configure the interface network again, then check DNS (front / back) and I also had to re - install the SharePoint, including network sharepoint (via AFP) houses.

    Problem:

Then, I started to test the connection as users of the network on client computers. I found that it was not possible to connect from most client computers.

After entering the login credentials was refused immediately. As is the case when entering the incorrect credentials.

On client computers, nothing has changed.

Client computers running Yosemite 10.10.5 and some are running 10.6.8

As soon as I reboot the Xserve 10.6.8 original that's all is back to normal.

    What does not work:

Those who connect has worked well:

    • Mobile sync (on Unassigned Computers)

    • Log is as user network at home (on Unassigned Computers)

    • PCS worked fine. New settings have been made correctly. On all computers.

    • Automatically install some actions has worked well on all computers. It is a local administrator on the client computers. When connecting to the account, the network shares are mounted using PCS.

    • Resolution of the DNS of all client computers

    • DHCP works OK

    • Client computers running 10.6.8 seem to be not affected.

At one point one of the workstations involved that did not work, started working.

What I tried and not solve the problem:

    • Renew DHCP client

    • Removed liaison OD and put in place again

    • Trashed records managed preferences (these have been re-created correctly)

    Ideas on possible causes:

The most logical causes of this behavior might be:

    (1) client computer cannot find the master OD.

    (2) the powers of negotiation fails.

Since the Division of the OPPOSITION binding work, works PCS etc., the client computer is the master of the OD.

The latter seems the cause more lickely. Ticketviewer does not show tickets. Ticketviewer by using the credentials of a user of OD manually requesting a TGT works very well.

    All advice is appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Nico

    Hi Nico,

Maybe the problem is related to the AFP. Have you tried disabling AFP in Systempreferences and delete all shares. After this restart AFP and try to add shares again. Have a look at the access privileges. It is urgent to remove and re-add the userfolders on the server share.

    Good luck

    Peter.

  • "No connection to the server of VR: does not not." after upgrade to vSphere 5.5

As part of the upgrade to vSphere 5.1 to 5.5 along http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2057795 I've updated vSphere replication to 5.5.0.0 build 1309877. All rehearsals continued well then. I only add the new vCenter replication and it stopped for the old.

After the migration of all VM including device just RV improved another 5.5 ESXi host I upgraded from original host and migrated the back of some VM. I noticed that only this VM is replicated again then. All other zeroes had "no connection to the server VR: does not not." and "Violation of RPO" messages (including RVS). If I migrate the original replication host virtual computer is restored. If I migrate to another connection from host to the server of VR is lost again - no matter what a host running VR.

    Any idea, please?

Yes, it's possible, but I just wanted to rule out any more simple explanations first. I was worried especially when you said the VR server could not ping itself, but perhaps I misinterpreted what you were saying.

In all cases, you can verify if this is your problem by looking for a line like this in the esx.conf of the hosts that you upgraded:

    / NET/vmkernelnic/Child [0001] / tags/4 = 'true '.

If so, remove the line in the esx.conf and restart the host. Then, once the host is back, check that the network adapter assigned to the vmkernel is an accessible IP address.

In my view, that the part "child [0001]" may be different on certain configurations if you do not find the exact line I've specified above, check around the lines part of [another] child.

  • I'm upgrading Firefox 20.0 but not automatically connect to the server, just hangs. Why? 19.0.2 States that it is "free" update channels: what is it?

Regularly alert is displayed to update me to 20.0 but it does not connect to the server - even if I have no problem with the modem at another time. It just hangs there. I thought that Firefox will update automatically. I have topped up, as advised but still 19.0.2. On the message States, I am currently on the channel "update of output". What does that mean? Do I need an update? Why?

"update of output" means that you are using the stable version of Mozilla Firefox.

Have you tried to reset firefox and then runs the update to verify that it contains that you are to the latest version?

  • No service after upgrade the server to 5.2 on El Capitan

I have a web server that was doing very well until I left the 5.2 update suggested to install OS X Server. I can't get to broadcast web pages. Screen sharing works always and nothing has changed on the routers, etc.

I restarted the server after the update and restarted the server itself several times but keep getting connection via a browser failures.

I did the upgrade even on other servers as well as the upgrade of Sierra. This server is running El Capitan, and is the only one that gave me problems. 5.2 server is not compatible with El Capitan?

    Some additional info:

I can connect to the server through ftp and other services; just no web service.

Port tests show that port 80 is not blocked

Using the IP address I can get to the window of the home server.

    Accessibility means no services available

Websites is on and I can't find anything that is not defined in law or is different than before the update.

  • When reading emails, said TB connected to the server, but is not download emails

The following suddenly started happening. (Things are working very well for several months on the same account settings).

When I try to retrieve the email from my IMAP e-mail server, there is a message at the bottom that says that Thunderbird is connected to the server, but nothing happens thereafter - no emails are downloaded.
Thunderbird invites me even a password to connect to the IMAP server as it usually does.

However, note that I * can * send emails without problem (via the configured SMTP server).
As well, I have no problem reading the emails on the server even on other customers of emails with same account settings.

The problem started after I upgraded to Thunderbird 38.2.0, an earlier version of a few months back).
Thunderbird prompted me to do the upgrade, and it can have kicked so he was still connecting and authenticating to the IMAP server - which is just speculate offshore.

Any ideas what I can do?

Details of the platform: Thunderbird 38.2.0, Windows 7 x 64, entering via the SSL Protocol IMAP, SMTP outgoing via the SSL protocol

    Thanks in advance

    Glen

Thunderbird 38 is indeed longer than previous versions... See my blog. There are a few things you can do. Ranging from Fix Security broken on the server to a temporary add-on which will establish market if the server hotfix is delayed.

OS X Server: Troubleshooting with the Profile Manager

How to reset the profile to its original State Manager

    Update Server 3.2.1 fail

  • Get invites to day 6.0.2 then cannot connect to the server to update

Recently started using Firefox on my MacBook. FF invites me to download the new version (was 6.0.1, 6.0.2 now) but when I click to update, FF tries to connect to the server to update, but some stays with the "connect to Server" dialog box, never completed the upgrade. About FF in the menu, it says I'm on 6.0 and I'm on the latest version.

If he has problems with the update or the permissions then simpler is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a clean install of the new version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the file on the desktop DMG

    • Trash the present application Firefox to do a clean (re-) install
    • Install the new version you downloaded

Your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

  • Unable to send emails, SMPT can not connect to the server

I use the latest version of the EL CAPTAIN 10.11.04, just updated software, and I can not send my emails is to show only SMTP error can not connect to the server.

I can receive emails, but cannot send emails. I deleted the account and reinstalled it once again changed the SMTP Port 25, 465, 993 trying all of them.

Please advice, or guide me what I am doing wrong, or what I can do to fix this error.

Please take each of the following steps that you have already tried, tests after each of them. Back up all data before making any changes.

    Step 1

In the Mail menu bar, select

    ▹ Connection Doctor window

In the window that opens, double-click on behalf of SMTP (outgoing mail) problem. it. another window opens, displaying the list of all outgoing mail accounts. Choose the one that you clicked.

Select the Advanced tab in the settings for the account and check the box marked

Automatically detect and maintain the account settings

If it is not already done.

If there is more than one account of the problem, repeat. Close the window and save the changes.

    Step 2

Open again the list of SMTP servers. Note the problem server settings, then click the sign button less to delete and confirm. Click on the sign more and recreate the account with the same settings.

If you use Gmail, remove the account completely in the preferences panel accounts Internet and re-create it. The option "detect and maintain" must be selected in advanced settings for the incoming mail account.

Messages will be again synchronized with the server automatically. Which can last for hours if the mailboxes are very large.

    Step 3

Quit Mail runs. Launch the Keychain Access app and enter the name of the server of mail out in the search box. For example, if you use Gmail, enter

    SMTP.gmail.com

Make a note of the password, and then delete the keychain items. The next time Mail connects to the server, it will prompt for the password. Enter and save the password in the keychain.

    Step 4

If you use Gmail, sign in to your account on the site, and in the account settings, click the "Sign-in and security." There should be an option somewhere on the page to "allow applications that are less safe." Enable this option and save the change. Note: I don't use Gmail and I have not tested this solution myself. If it does not, either make you on Google user forums for help, stop trying to use Gmail with the e-mail, or just stop using Gmail altogether (strongly recommended).

The mail server can use a form low, obsolete encryption for secure communications with customers. Recent versions of Mac OS X has changed the behavior of Mail and other applications so that they no longer tolerate low security.

Log on to the e-mail account on the website and see if there is a security setting, you can change. I can't be more specific. Refer to the documentation of the service provider.

If there is no adjustment, convince the upgrade of server securityserver administrator. He or she must do it anyway. Low security affects all customers, not only Mac users.

Otherwise, you have all the right options to continue to use Mail with the service. You can disable SSL in the Advanced account settings, but that is very dangerous and may not work at all.

You might be able to get a more flexible mail client, such as "Thunderbird", to accept the low security, or perhaps you can access the account via webmail.

Ideally, you should switch to a provider of postal services better. You would not have this problem with a well-run service. The risk of weak SSL are known for a long time, and to competent server administrators have already taken the simple steps are sufficient to avoid these risks.

  • FF restarts after update one opens a new box that says update highly recommended when I click on next FF is unable to connect to the server, it's been going on for two weeks. What continues?

FF says that an upgrade is available. After that has been done and restarted FF another window opens saying that a very important (urgent) update is nesscary, when I click on the button NEXT, a progress bar appears and says the connection to the server, but NEVER seems to connect, and no matter how long I leave it does NOT connect. It just sits there trying to connect while I use FF.

    Do a clean install (re)-:

    • Uninstall your current version of Firefox and remove the Firefox program folder before installing this copy of the Firefox installer.
    • Do not remove the data of a personal nature if you uninstall the current version.
    • It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.

Your bookmarks and other profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Unable to connect to the server

I have an officejet pro 8600plus. When I bought it, I have activated ePrint and registered my printer, but never used the feature. Since then, I updated from XP to windows 8.1, changed a router and connected the printer through a series of switches on a wired ethernet connection. A few days ago, I tried to use e print but received a message that I couldn't connect to the server.

my printer prints fine, connects to each computer on my home network, I just upgraded the firmware with success to [personal information deleted]
and yet, for more than three days, unable to connect to the server. I even deleted my account eprint printer, after changing his email successfully, but now I can not add new, I can't get the code because I can't activate the web plus services. I can scan from the printer to files network and all, but can't seem to activate eprint.

    can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Gill

    Hi the gills.

Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I think since upgrade to 8.1 Windows and change your printer router cannot connect to web services to get the job of ePrint feature.

Please define Manual of the printer an IP address manually and DNS servers. I've included a link to another post, I did it with the stages (including screenshots) how to do it.

  • Unable to connect to the server appleid in el capitan?

Whenever I try to connect to the App Store, iTunes Store or iCloud, I get an error message unable to connect to the server appleid. This all started as soon as the upgrade to El Capitan on my Macbook Pro, that is in late 2011 with 16 GB of ram and 1 TB of hard drive. It was working fine before the upgrade.

If the firewall is enabled, please disable it in the component of security & confidentiality of system preferences. First of all, you need to unlock the settings by clicking on the padlock icon and entering your administrator password.

  • Remote Desktop connection - error trying to connect to the server.

I use VISTA Service Pack 2 and was able to connect to my Windows 200 server using remote desktop from my laptop. Suddenly, it doesn't work on my laptop with the error "the remote session was disconnected because there are no Desktop Client Access License remotely to this computer. Please contact the server administrator. ». I am able to access the server from another computer using my login credentials via RDP, is not a problem with the license on the server. The problem seems related to the laptop that I use. I turned off both the anti-virus from Trend Micro and Windows Firewall., but still no change. I upgraded the remote desktop connection on my phone to version 6.0 for 32 bit Vista - no change.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Hi Shibree,

    If this does not work,
    I hope this helps.

"Crash" is usually caused by interference from a non compatible anti-virus program. What antivirus do you use? At a minimum, email, scanning in the antivirus must be disabled, but maybe it's not enough to eliminate all the bad effects. In the worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If disable your antivirus e-mail analysis feature does not solve your problem, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less sensitive to the suffering of the ill effects of too intrusive antivirus programs: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

E-mail analysis in any antivirus must be disabled, for the reasons explained here:
